 Pridelands=Warriors?
I just noticed..now this could all be common knowledge and i'm just being a spazz and if that's the case please ignore me lol. But I find alot of similarities between the fictional book series, The Pridelands and the the real life book series Warriors by Erin Hunter...

I think you guys are silly. = P
Pridelands is clearly based off Transformers: Beast Wars.

So only 1/30th of one of the 3 characters is left alive by the end?

 Re: Pridelands=Warriors?
1979, actually. It was loosely based on a 1965 novel on New York's street gangs. The film mixes up and plays up the gang war aspect.

On a more related note, who here would like to read Pridelands? I know I would! Do I smell a spin off comic or book? Get to it Rick! XD

Not trying to be a pessimist but... NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Unless suddenly Houspets! just ends... BUT LETS NOT EVEN SAY THAT.

 Re: Pridelands=Warriors?
I'd prefer if it was like "Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie" from Calvin & Hobbes, in that it is mentioned but never actually elaborated upon.

 Re: Pridelands=Warriors?
Every webcomic needs a noodle incident! As if it weren't impossible enough to find a webcomic uninfluenced by Calvin & Hobbes. It may never happen, but that's not why. It's not like Rick doesn't write anything else just because he makes Housepets! I'd read it if he actually did decide to write it. The setting doesn't actually interest me all that much, but I would probably still like it out of association with the Housepets! world.

 Re: Pridelands=Warriors?
I think "you wrote a comic that isn't as good as Calvin & Hobbes" is quite possibly the faintest insult possible.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to top C&H. Sorry universe, it just can't be done.
Housepets is my #2 comic ever and my #1 comic that I still read though!

It's a show within a show that happens to be scarcely elaborated on, actually.

 Re: Pridelands=Warriors?
It is a conglomerative parody of every form of media featuring anthropomorphic or sentient cats.
And Harry Potter.

 Re: Pridelands=Warriors?
I thought the same thing. Cats would read either story. but "Pridelands" seems to be a bit different than warriors since it deals with different species. Warriors only deals with clans of cats. While I do see similarities, I also see differences. However I also see differences between cats and dogs in reality and cats and dogs in housepets. So "Pridelands" might just be the equivalent. It is subject to speculation.

 Good Point!
It is a good Point Fox! You are really smart and cool!
We cant fully ignore possibilitys. Normally nobody can create something new... Whys that? Well, EVERYTHING that you create is not coming from nothing, but from your experiences, that cool character over there in your storie that you created? A mix of Ganon and Shao Khan, that hero over there a mix of Link and Liu Kang with appearence of Zorro.
Everything you do will always be based in what you like and know. If you read more stories, thre will be more influences on you art, simple as that. Even withouth thinking you will pick the things that you like most that you alreandy seen and throw in. Analising the Ego and Super Ego we can discover that the entire world and all the works of fiction are crossed in one point or another. The Main reason for tropes to be born, for the book of 500 monster has almost 200 creatures wich remember pokemons... Etc... Etc...
Of course that bring us to your point, there are huge chances of you being right.
And I also want to add that there is nothing strange into reading ancient forum messages, that is the main reason to not exclude they. I, Myself alreandy spend coutless hours on Orkut reading topics from one or two years earlier.
