I always wanted to learn how to breakdance in a fursuit.

It's probably mostly a matter of choosing the right fur for your knees, back, shoulders & elbows during construction and then picking the appropriate corrugated cardboard dance mat. You might want to go with kevlar construction on the top of the head for when you start spinning on your noggin.

I happened to stumble on a video a little while ago where fursuiters were having a dance competition at a con. It was very cool.

Awesome photo Tycho! :D

Hey, that's awesome Tycho! Congratulations! It's particularly good to see that the community receive you with such enthusiasm and warmth, I think most people don't publicly fursuit because they think the public will think they're weird. The story about the 95 year old lady was really sweet too!

I swear I've already voted yes to this before lol. In any case, I openly recognize myself as a furry. And I enjoy every fluffy second of it.

I'm pretty confident I've already identified myself as the bastion of non-furdom in this forum but for the sake of chronology I'm going to do so again

Yeah, who a I kidding. I'm a furry fan.
The only thing that makes me different from other furry fans is that half of me DOESN'T want to be a furry. This hal considers that I should spend more, way more time on normal, day to day subjects, and less thinking about animal characters with human characteristics, which are fictional and, although it's be great to imagine how it'd be if they were real, distract me from reality.
Boy, am I crazy!

I got a few friends with fursonas, they don't consider themselves to be furry and I agree with them. The reason why they have a sona is because one friend got a sona and the rest hopped on the bandwagon.

Seems like "sapience" (and I use the term loosely) gives way to an EXTREME quantity of neurological disorders!

People who have fursonas, but ain't furry? I thought a furry fan was anyone who was a fan of animals with human characteristics.

I've met some of those in person. And believe me I didn't like them at all.

As C.S.Lewis wrote in his book "Out of the Silent Planet" when Ransom, the novel's protagonist, meets one of Mars inhabithants, he describes it as: "Looking like a man that resembled an animal, or like an animal that resembled a man. Nothing more unpleseant than the former, nothing more appealing than the latter....."

Necroposting is bad, and remember, "draco durmiens nuncam titilandum."
Anyway, I always wondered if the elephant man counted as furry....

I was online in 1993 :)

I just did a google search and found that the earliest record I could dig up was March, 1995:

http://www.retro.co.za/efi/DIY_EFI/1995/archive61.txt

So, just remember, whatever you post - It'll probably hang around for a long, long LONG time so always post with that in mind, in case you might want to run for President of the USA someday.

... or get a new job.

or something.

...(and I've been posting fursuit photos of myself this past year??? What have I done??) :facepaw:

I almost can't believe some of you have been dwelling in the internet when I was one year old.
And I would probably vote you for the first fursuiting president of U.S.A. but mostly because I wanna see that country buuuuuuuuuuuuurn! With da lemons!

Not only that, but the email address I was using then still works. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the reply.

According to Google my first post was around 1980. Can't find it now, they keep changing the Google Groups search engine, and every time they do, they make it harder to find anything.
