Now, why do I get the feeing that the world is doted with, as I call them, "dormant furries". That is, a person who is a fan of anthropomorphic animal characters and such, but is completely unaware of the fandom's existence (I envy them, sometimes).

Lots of people are like that. That, or furries who are aware the furry fandom exists but don't realize that it's a much broader definition than they think it is.

I think my friend falls under that category of not realizing the definition. I think I've swayed her opinion, but when I first told her that I was a furry, the first thing she said was "That's disgusting."

Hey, I'm just an otter. I just had to make her see that and that the whole isn't defined by one faction.

You are an otter? Cool! What's it like to have a ta- awww, wait. You are just reffering to the animal you represent yourself with, don't you?

I like people with innocent, imaginative characters they've come up with, but, for a change, I would like to meet an individual that claims to be a non-human talking animal and that is not making it up. You know how many times I've met such individuals? Not many!

There are people out there who actually believe they're an animal but that's a topic we should avoid going down.

-Gotta Question-

Is it safe to say that in comparison a Fursona is more or less like a video game avatar? I'm thinking of games like World of Warcraft or The Elder Scrolls where people can customize characters that fit their personalities. I mean I know that a Fursona can basically be considered a RP character for someone online, am I Right? Thoughts?

Yes. On most games (MMO's and RPGs mostly dominate the 'able to customize your character' stuff..) you are able to switch up the look and personality just as you are with fursonas. They are in the most basic standards the same.

Anyway, carry on with your lives now.. *intercom off*

I don't know if I'd call me a "fursona", that just sounds so tacky. Besides, I've been Argent since "online" meant dialling up RCPM bulletin boards and most people were lucky if they could get Fido mail to work.

There.

Vintage anthro art. January - March '84 or thereabouts.
Interesting, "tonto" means fool, dumb, or even (wait for it) silly in spanish, but I believe that one to be no fool at all, since he became more successful by far than his buddy over there.

That's the one thing I regret about living in Australia, all the cool comic artists live in America. Taeshi who draws Bittersweet Candy Bowl lives in Sydney though. She came up to Brisbane once where I met her at Supanova.

And that's another thing I don't like, we don't have any proper furry conventions here! The closest we have is Supanova which is termed a "pop culture expo" because it has everything in games, movies and comics. It's fun but if you wanted to dress up, it's more for cosplayers than furries. I did see a really realistic werewolf costume one year though.
Feel like you need a friend? I'm happy to talk anytime! :D

Back here, in Argentina, we don't have ANY furry conventions at all! (I read that one ran for three consecutive years, but stopped due to management problems), but, since I'm, as I call myself, a reluctant furry, I consider that to be a good thing.
Besides, Australia has the guy who composed the furry album, although he did quit the fandom as far as I know.

Also, I think england has dis guy:

Rocket City Furmeet. And that was canceled this year, unfortunately. :(

He was guest of honor at Midwest Furfest 2011, however. That's when I got to meet him in person. ^o^

Canceled? But I had so many good (not so monstrous) scripts for the "Rick goes to con" mini-series, awwww. :(

Oh, well, it'll at least give me more time for Team Rocket City Furmeet 2014! (Unless Meowth replaces Rick as guest of honour).

Actually, no one knows Sleet's gender. NO ONE.

Well, quite a few people do actually. I'm pretty sure I know. But it's all based on things I've observed and none of it is conclusive. In fact, I might be the one of the few Mods who don't know. (If there are any other Mods who don't know)

What does Rick look like? Well, while all of us agree in that he has a beard, there is currently a civil war amongst the rickiologists between those who claim him to be a furret-morph, and those dirty ponbon secessionist pigs!
