Chat Thread 25: Restoration

Re: Chat Thread 25: Restoration
Not to me. They are interchangeable in my mind. You can never truly get rid of a part of yourself, so "deletion" to me is a bit different than the real definition, Ves.
Re: Chat Thread 25: Restoration
Eh. It's functionally the same.
Although I'm beginning to wonder what's meant by locking part of yourself away. I'm not sure psychology works that way. >_>
If it does, I'll need to find what part of me likes to procrastinate and beat it into submission. :3

It is, what's the word? Metaphor? No..... Help me out, Oh grammar nazis!
Anyway, it is a way to describe what I cannot otherwise describe.

that part of me is in action at this very moment. I'm still only on the second paragraph of that essay I mentioned earlier.Coatl_Ruu wrote:If it does, I'll need to find what part of me likes to procrastinate and beat it into submission. :3
my ADHD keeps my inner child alive, and my Ritalin puts it in a cage. unfortunately, it lost the key and my inner child escapes often.

I've never done this willfully, really. There are certain parts of you that do eventually disappear, though, For example, ones use of smilies in text. My posts used to be unreadable before I came here thanks to a saturation of redundant smilies. But that's a bit more superficial than what you guys are probably saying.shadowhaz wrote:By locking away I think they are refering to suppresion of parts of thier personalitys

You called?Help me out, Oh grammar nazis!
Yeah, I think "metaphor" is the right term. I also think I understand what you mean, now.
You may want to pick up the pace on that. :3that part of me is in action at this very moment. I'm still only on the second paragraph of that essay I mentioned earlier.

With a metaphor. :3You are Conceptulizing the abstract quality of the concious mind.
In other news, I seem to be using the " :3 " smiley a lot more.

Re: Chat Thread 25: Restoration
If we're talking about the phrase "locking away part of yourself", I suppose it could be a metaphor by a stretch, considering it implies that parts of yourself are a physical object that can be locked behind a door. I dunno... I'm too tired to classify figurative language right now.Coatl_Ruu wrote:You called?Help me out, Oh grammar nazis!

Re: Chat Thread 25: Restoration
Well, I suppose it could be an analogy. But we'll stick with "metaphor" for now, I guess.

Re: Chat Thread 25: Restoration
I don't like being confused. It makes me feel stupid, especially when I find the answers and think I should have known them
PS-I finished that essay roughdraft.
