Hi there again!
An idea for the other non-english readers? Why don't we try here our talents at translating HPC? What you see here is my very first attempt with the first strip. Please bear in mnd that I need practicing with these tools, but I hope I'll get better soon. Enjoy!

I am Ebly and I approve of this message.

Really, I think this is a great idea but that's probably just my own bias towards language. Haha, if I ever become truly proficient in a language I'll add another to the list. Heehee. So far I know of Italian and Korean. U: Not the first languages I'd expect. x3

I think i could do a spanish translation, but the problem in translations is that some jokes/dialogs can't be used or change it's meaning. And that's not a good thing.

Does anybody know Arabic? I do but I don't think I have knowledge of how to translate a comic.

If you are any nationality and actively visit an English language website, there's a better chance than not you know some English. However, for example there are Italian people who do not know about this site and will not know about this site because they do not know English. That's the idea of a translation - so those that do not speak English can also discover and appreciate the comic.

Oh no! Non il gioco! O oO

That actually sounds a lot more sinister than the game, I like it.

essentially, because I don't own any software good enough to replicate the original lettering. What I use for editing was provided due to Rick's courtesy. I love to do these translations, but not enough to pay for a photoshop package, sorry. :?

DONE. Our posts on the matter can be removed now

GIMP should be able to do it, though? The font is 'Webcomic Letterer BB' and is available for free.

It's Saudi Arabia, many muslims around the world dislike wahabi nutjobs that make up this ban, in fact many muslim countries like Egypt have lots of people who have dogs as pets. I've send this news to my parents in Egypt and they just went WTF especially my dad since he bought a cat several years ago.

In fact, the prophet Muhammad is said to have loved his cat Muezza, so much that "he would do without his cloak rather than disturb one that was sleeping on it''

According to one story, Muhammad is said to have informed a I'm a spambot (which is considered a sin in religion) who had seen a thirsty dog hanging about a well and given it water to drink. Allah forgave her because of that good deed.

uhm, sorry, but can you be more specific? What do you miss to work on a translation, if you know english and arabic?
I mean like is there a certain program that I can use to edit word bubbles in panels to insert arabic words?

yup! Here you go. Worked miracle for me!

http://www.gimp.org/

Then you must surf the net for the arabic font (unless you already have it) and install it in the 'fonts' directory of the software. Have fun! I'm really eager to see what you can come up with ;)

I hope not a lot of members here believe that most of us muslims are a bunch of nutjobs.

*sigh* I only wish the good ones (which I *do* believe being the majority) got better PR instead of letting the crazy ones do the advertising.
