grazie per la segnalazione, Tai, ma l'accento c'è: purtroppo è venuto molto vicino al bordo del baloon.

FLICK E FLOCK!Sinder wrote:"Flick e flock?"
I was going to make a joke but then I did.
Re: Italian Translation
When two people say the same thing at the same moment, in Italy we exclaim 'Flick e Flock!' and touch our little fingers. Don't know why

Re: Italian Translation
Well that works out nicely, because the finger thing isn't necessary for a Jinx.

Re: Italian Translation
Good translations.
Juste a question: why is you being use the .GIF and its bad quality?

Re: Italian Translation
easy: with color images, other formats exceed the allowed space to post.
Let's cheer up with today's translated strip (thanks, btw)

Re: Italian Translation
Hey, Valerio, did you shrink the image, or is the new forum code doing that?
DOH HO HO WELL THEN
Re: Italian Translation
Sorry, but that's not true: files in .png can be compressed without problem, you now. On my computer, the translated file (compressed) of "that sinking feeling" takes only 140,9 Ko.valerio wrote:easy: with color images, other formats exceed the allowed space to post.
Re: Italian Translation
how do you compress AND have it posted on this forum as an image? And yes, I am THAT tech-gnorant
Re: Italian Translation
I reduce the number of colors. For "that sinking feeling", I'm too reduced, but I can choose the number of colors to compressed the strip in 256 KB precisely. l use The GIMP for the compression after I use Inkscape for the translation.

Re: Italian Translation
I save my comics on PNG-24 though because that's the only format that allows anti-aliased transparency.

Re: Italian Translation
Yes, the transparency is also an a PNG benefit.
Valerio, you can use also a hoster to the images (example on the last message on me in the Franche translation topic).

Re: Italian Translation
gimp doesn't offer the tools for this kind of formatting. At least, I haven't found 'em so far. It offers a series of formatting options to save an image, though. I'll run through them next time. In the meantime please suffer this new contribution

Re: Italian Translation
There's a partner tool to GIMP called BIMP that can do all that good formatting stuff, and it's made by the same person.valerio wrote:gimp doesn't offer the tools for this kind of formatting. Re: Italian Translation
In The GIMP menu :
Image > Mode > Indexed colors
(under RGB and GeyScales)
You choose a level of degradation (default is 255) and you apply changes, your image size will be shrinked to 25% of its original weight.
Then, when you export in .png format, GIMP will show you a dialog containing a slider which defines the compression level of your image, you can put it to 9 (which is the default value).
And finally, you can simply resize your picture to reduce the number of pixel and by the way the weight of your image, it's in menu Image > Scale and resize.

Re: Italian Translation
Erm, reducing number of colors in PNG is almost the same as saving the picture in GIF, since GIF is only 8bit and thus limits the maximum number of colors to 256 (otherwise, there's no quality loss, it uses lossless compression).
Re: Italian Translation
Yes, but 256 is the maximum in .GIF and the .PNG can have more colors before the 256 KiB...
Or you can use imageshakes to host that. (I use crurently this solution for the color images)

Re: Italian Translation
Well I'm going to offer a simple idea so you don't have to think about all that stuff. Use image hosting websites! They don't care! :B
If Rick decided to incorporate a gallery into the forums he might make the image size for the gallery larger, and you'll be able to keep it png.

Re: Italian Translation
It would not rather "ragazze" instead of "pupe"?
