He acts more like a children who want absolutly winning in some kind of very funny games (remember the playing pretend with Lava, guys...).
So Max is more a "wanna play" fanatic than a jerk, I think.

The only pet who deserves something like that is Bino. Max may be an arrogant jerk, but most of the time he is just having fun.

And all of this is Grape's fault! That's right - she wanted to have Tarot in their team, but since Max didn't want her, she suggested Sabrina, who did this to Max!
