Now, now, we all know what happens when people build little ships and try to sail them, don't we?
Also, yay for Joey!

There's no need to say it here, so why
shouldn't it be censored?

Yay new character!
Alright, he isn't exactly new, but we didn't know his name until now! But I do wonder what Joey's other creepy friend's name is...

They capsize and sink down to the bottom of the the (insert body water here). That's what happens. xD.

I'm mostly wondering what made him decide to name him Lester of all things. I mean it wouldve been cool if he was so obsessed with japan he gave himself a japanese name.
Also he's a lot more of Joey's Otaku Friend than Joey's Creepy Friend

His owner didn't exactly take that into account when (s)he named him. Especially if they got him when he was still a puppy.

I like a lot this new technique to draw the seats and the background. Simple and efficient.
And YAY for Joey! \o/

That, and how many otaku actually have japanese names?

The ones crazy enough to change their names.
Or the ones who are Japanese.

Okay, let me rephrase.
How many
stereotypical otaku have Japanese names.

It seems like the use of that name has exploded ever since I named my OT character that.

Ah! I'm Mark. Also that was a pretty good gag, I'm not into anime, but I cry when movie companies ruin movies. (See nearly everything in the past decade.)

I actually just picked a not-remotely-Japanese name at random.

The once creative oasis has become a barren desert of remakes and poorly made superhero movies.

Which, to be fair, has been said for generations, probably as long as people have done things requiring creativity.

No originality doesn't sell. At least that's what the decision makers think.

Squeaks appearance was a little surprising, but I should have seen it coming her being Joeys girlfriend and what not.The Alt text was just great.

Squeak's cute here, and I love the flavor text. Wait, is Lester even fluent in Japanese in the first place?
Also, way to go for making me feel like a huge nerd like Lester, because I actually did know that "demon" is an inaccurate translation of "shinigami." I've always liked "reaper."

Even if I were dating it, I'm not sure I'd want to eat popcorn a mouse has been buried in.

Well really mice are pretty clean as long as they don't have fleas plus if you take into account the fact that she lives with Joey (admittedly in secret) and the fact that she is intelligent like a human she most likely keeps her self very clean. However if we are just talking about fur then yes I agree it would ruin the popcorn and I wouldn't eat it either.

Plus she no doubt relies on Joey for transportation over any large (for her) distance, so he has to touch her with all that grease and salt all over her body. Yuckers. That or have to carry the empty popcorn bucket until she gets to a place where she can bathe.

Yes that would really suck for Joey. But carrying her in the empty popcorn bucket would work very well.

On a less creepy note, the first thing I thought about when I read Joey's comment in the first panel was the first Pokémon movie.
