Why are they fighting about using the heating? I get he doesn't want to use his money because he wants to feel alive, but... becoming an ice cube is counterproductive. Hell just go visit your friends you have yet to make to use their heat if you want to pretend to be poor.

I don't think that's the problem. I think the power might be out. I guess the gas fireplace has an electric ignition.

Power is out and neither knows how to light the fireplace without the electric spark to light the pilot - one because he’s too modern and the other because he’s too old-fashioned.

King was still able to light the wolves fireplace all those years ago even with the power out.

King was still able to light the wolves fireplace all those years ago even with the power out.

King was human and not rich, though. He likely had lit a fireplace manually in his 20+ years of struggling in life compared to Keene’s very sheltered and short life.

Yes, he was able. He knew how to do it. Breel's from the early 19th century and Keene had a staff to do it.

Hearth just means fireplace and is a synonym for home.

Fun fact: Vesta was the goddess of the hearth, the home, and domestic life in the Roman religion (idenitified with the Greek goddess Hestia).

For shame! Martens and ferrets are both northerly species! What would Keene's wild ancestors living in Siberia have thought? What about Breel's ancestors who crossed the landbridge from Russia to Alaska during the ice ages?? Hmm. Keene's ancestors have relatives who did this too, though they ended up as the black-footed ferret people.

I am not against Rick doing some fan service if that’s what you’re suggesting, though aside from Breel and Keene, who would be good for that? I’d put votes down for Mungo, Res, Fox (especially with his two heavenly babes), and maybe either Joey or Bino for the one character whose out of place. Karishad is obligated to appear, anyone who has seen the fox’s twitter will know why I think he’d be in the fan service arc

Grape and Max for me. Especially them two. Because these two i find need to show they have at least a little flair in each other's lives.

I can't even remember how to light the pilot light in my house. There's like 2 different levers to turn the gas on and off and SOMETIMES the spark button works. Usually you need, like, a barbecue lighter.

I'm an experience handyman. These boys are screwed.

In my anime watching experience, two things usually happen. Either someone gets dizzy/sick from the water or someone gets attacked by some creep. There's usually fruit milk involved too.

My webcomic experience is limited to just this happening.

Given the weird stuff that happens to the pets it might not be too far off. I mean we just saw a haunted video store, why not a magical hot spring. That would be kinda funny if a hot spring magically appeared in Babylon Gardens like Pete's glade and all the pets went.
