This was too cute of an ending! Next arc better have a ton of slapstick to balance out my fragile masculinity.

Not what i expected, but it's a very sweet ending. Totally unexpected.

Maybe, but you generally don't refer to a "friend date" specifically as a date. It's usually just called "hanging out", or something else to that effect. Granted, in this case the phrasing could just be put down to Peanut's innocence, but still...

Yeaaaaaaah I have a lot of questions. This is cute n' all but I'm pretty sure Peanut should have a grasp on the difference between one or the other.
Then again, their relationship has always been really weird now that I think about it. Namely referring to the last few panels of this page:

And it's not like they ever stopped being "mushy", they've occasionally done it every now and then, just not as frequently recently. But this is always how their friendship has been since then, and frankly I never quite thought about how that kinda bugged me actually. I don't really care for shipping, I just go with what's canon, but personally it just seems kinda... messed up? I mean if Tarot and Max are cool with it then it's technically fine but it just doesn't seem like the healthiest thing to do for two people in a relationship.

Again, cool that two friends... or siblings...kinda-- can be that close and not technically be in a relationship, but this just kinda reminded me of how uncomfortable it makes me

Well, not so much anymore, what with Tarot having lost most of her powers, and even if she did still have them, she kinda banned Peanut and Grape from using her as a holodeck.

That was probably one of the powers she lost anyway.

She is kinda being depicted as chilling toward Peanut anyway.

At first I was like "Awww".
And then I was like "Wait, a date?? I thought they were best friends! Aren't Peanut and Grape thus going to cheat respectively on Tarot and Max?? Why?? I love those two love relationships! And didn't Rick himself say that it is okay for a male and a female characters to be just (best) friends, something I completely agree with and wish so many more people would agree with??"

I looked up "romantic friendship" on Wikipedia: the description depicts pretty well the relationship between Peanut and Grape. And I also remembered the extremely heartwarming end of the Imaginate, Too! arc.

I hope Rick never ends Peanut-Tarot and Grape-Max just in favor of a romantic love relationship between Peanut and Grape. Their extremely close friendship (/sibling relation?) is fine by me!
And once again, I hope Tarot and Max have always known and have always been okay with it.

But I'm puzzled: I can't figure out which one says "You wanna go on a date?" and which one accepts by saying "Eh, okay". (And also, why "eh"???)

In the last panel, Grape has her tail crossed with Peanut's. I'd see that as a Pet's version of hand holding, even though they do have hands. Based on that I'd say he asked and she accepted.

Also, since he is the one asking about dates, it would make sense for him to want to explore the process and asked Grape to help him with that.

What i really liked about this comic in particular is the personal growth Peanut is going through. Grape acts like this experience was nothing to her, but to Peanut it's like a world of exploration. Him dating Grape is just utterly adorkable when you think about his line of thought on the lesson.

I really like the detail in this strip. It's a beautiful night. For some reason after veiwing this strip I am reciting "Haddaway - What is Love" in my head. It goes along good.

Yea , Grape was suspecting it since a time ; but Peanut has never really admitted/said frankly it until now

It's not that weird, I've seen fences like that. Large privacy fences that have the vertical slats on both sides of the support beams. We don't see if from any angle that shows it's thickness, so it's probably one of those.

I don't think Peanut means it as a friend date. Grape knows he likes her and its been made blatantly clear that he wants to be her boyfriend on a romantic level. Remember the farm? She hooked up with max when he was walking up to ASK her to be his girlfriend. The event broke his heart which is why tarot/dragon took advantage of him to get close to what was going on. Remember tarot didn't get with him because she wanted to she did it because dragon made her. They just sort of ended up liking each other after that and as far as grape well.... Lets be honest Max has never really been a good boyfriend.

I am just hoping that this becomes a bigger thing as time continues and isn't just done to mess with us.
