Well, that got dark quickly. I think he/she (I don't know it's the internet) meant that we would deplete the world of its natural resources and fight battles and wars over what remains. Like Mad Max.
Any of those three possibilities would be futures I wouldn't want to live in, but if things turn out OK, I'd rather live in the future than now. We're living in the time when it's too late to explore the world but too early to explore the universe.

Not true, books and Google searches can only teach you so much about your home town, let alone the whole world.

Most people though use Google to get information on several subjects at a time, so I guess they aren't learning that much then.
