Title Text: It's simple math: everything is exactly equivalent to everything else and there are no extraneous details worth worrying about

Spot the Superdog killed a guy for spending money. That's pretty legitimate.

how does a nude scene cost so much in a universe where a lot of people don't wear pants?

I didn't click the text link, deciding to take the long link "forum" link instead, but I'm still unsure.
What say you, denizens of this forum, Should I go back to the main page and click the text link?

A lot of money!

And, yeah, Spot (superdog) is being very heroic in this strip.

That's how cinema is nowadays: Unnecesarily expensive to make.

I'm actually not sure what the joke is in this strip, It seems pretty much like the real world re-enacted by cartoon animals.

I don't think you understand, those collars (and other accessories) are their whole atire. It accounts for their shirts, shoes, underwear, socks, and shoes. And I'm sure you wouldn't let 7 billion people see you when your not wearing any of that for any price (unless your a devoted actor)

No, Spot! You're not supposed to kill him! You're supposed to bring justice. Have him sentenced to life in prison for his scandals.

Well, I don't think you're dumb, Dissention!

Spot has a foe and it's name is finance,
represented by a face so polite
He's giving annuity in advance?
it does not mean he's right – or bright.

A nude scene with just dropped collars
shouldn't cost that much to make here -
a fact our mighty Mr Spot hollers
with a face that could make Daleks know fear.

The stupidity of business principle
itself plain for the hero to observe
so he strikes, like the hero, in futile
gesture to give the finish some deserve.

Peanut knows the rules to make a dime
He should try and sell his hobby sometime.

Luckily the studio learned from their past mistakes and decided to take the franchise into a whole new direction.

Dog Of Super revolved around Spot battling his greatest foe with liberal use of bone-breaking and obliterating North America's ten most populous cities in the process. Taglines like "This isn't your grandpa's Spot (superdog)!" attracted thousands of moviegoers, making it the year's highest-grossing movie.

After it made a profit of only 2.5 mil with a cost of 450 mil the new board of suits decided to take the franchise into another whole new direction.

Spot & Steve revolved around Spot's previously unseen brother Steve (played by Adam Sandler) unexpectedly showing up at his house to crash for as long as his takes to get a new job. Wacky hijinks like Sandler getting urinated in the face by an elk and Sandler farting into a little girl's face ensues. The film stars Adam Sandler and his Saturday Night Live reject friends, cost <800 bucks and was shot over one weekend.

It made 290 million dollars.

Uhh, in panel 2, when Spot shouts "Awesome"...well, what's written near there?
Also, panel 1, does it read "PBS imprints"?

I think it says pummeled (he's punching one of his foes as he is speaking)

PBS - Peanut Butter Sandwich imprints (another word for publishing)

Actually, this is the Origin Story of Spot (Superdog)'s latest villain .... John A. Executive, who comes back to life after some stuff happens with Red Orphanite and becomes better known as.... THE BEANCOUNTER, vowing revenge on S(S) with his new found ability to turn people into beans and count them.

Spot (Superdog)
Spot (Superdog)

All the world is waiting for you
And the punches that you threw
Punching all the bad guys
In their suits and ties
Saving the world for orphans who like to pet youuuuuuuu

Spot (Superdog)
Spot (Superdog)

Now the world is waiting for you
In a series based on what Peanut drew
Pin the villains to the mat
Keep the kids from getting fat
And save Stripe...who is definitely not a cattttttttt

Spot (Superdog)

You are really super Spot (Superdoggggggg)

One billion dollars could be used to buy The Empire State Building.

But why would Spot want that? *Evil laughing*

Let's see... If it cost $1,000,000,000 to make the movie and 20,000,000 tickets sold, the tickets would have to cost at least $50 each to make a profit. This is about six times as expensive as the current average ticket price of $8.38. Yikes.

You cannot make money without the nude scene? I bet it takes place in some super luxurious location. They rented Monaco to make it I bet! :o

I like how this shows how close Grape and Peanut are. Peanut uses her as his beta reader or whatever.

I think the high cost of this nude scene has to do with the fact that they rented out a solid gold room, complete with solid gold bed, solid gold 3D TV, solid gold mini refrigerator, and let's not forget the sapphire doorknobs.
