One thing i did after seeing this page was look back at all "Tarot" strips and one struck me as being very much in tune with the gist of this arc.

Seems like this HAS been an ongoing issue between Tarot and Dragon and at least in that strip Peanut seemed freaked out by the Dragon bit then as well.

As I recall from my rather extensive study of Graeco-Roman and Nordic mythology (hey, the hardware for modern geeking has only existed for 30 years or so) these things seldom turn out well.

Also, I think Spirit Dragon is having a Geek Chick crush moment and gone a little over the top. We geeks just don't seem to get the whole social relationship thing.

It's quite possible at this point that peanut will try to find grape and ask for advice, but I seriously doubt she'll be of much help because I don't think she even knows about the dragon, or the game. Also, grape will be experiencing too many troubles of her own (dealing with max) to even care about what peanut's going through right now.

Also, comic will probably snap back to grape and max and I doubt that they'll be meeting peanut until a few comics later...

Can't wait to find out what happens next! :3

Does Dragon's presence in this dimension (Gallifrax) explain how Tarot and Peanut were able to speak to the humans? The ones shown understanding the dogs' speech were made or controlled by Dragon.

Peanut should have just stuck with what he said, instead of shying away from it. If Tarot gets her fur fluffed up, her problem. I image this alternate monologue:

"...normal. no, really! I seriously thought you and her were one and the same. Split personalities, perhaps, but still only one being. I simply thought you had a dragon form, and were giving it up for me."

On a side note, D&T seem to be getting pushy. If they're not careful, Peanut is going to end up whimpering on the ground. Of course, that's when Grape will enter, see what's going on, and PG cuss the PG tar out of D&T. Angry Grape is not to be trifled with.

Max's first encounter with a boot at the market proves that in Gallifrax, animals can't be understood by humans. The only ones who verbally interacted with Peanut and Tarot were Dragon in disguise

You know as bad as him saying that is, I think him having to go to think about who to choose between someone he dated once and someone hes been dating for over 2 years now is a heck of a lot worse. Really this whole situation kind of implies to me that, one Dragon is really rather childish, much more so then the pets even; and two Peanut isn't really in to either of them all that much.

If he had been dating Dragon for a while I would completely agree but with it being only one date (therefore meaning he doesn't really even know her at all) it comes off more like hes just really unsure of his relationship with Tarot.

Peanut is just too kind. He knows that Dragon loves him too and doesn't want to hurt her even if he didn't know her at all. That's how he is. Come on, he even was nice with Maxwell when he started to hang out with them when we know how he felt about the idea of him dating with Grape.
