Miles looked VERY excited to throw a naked party.. Also, I agree with Sleet. A formal tie should be enough.

Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
I don't know why but Miles reminds me of Geppetto. He also looks very Anime and honestly, I preferred the way he looked before because....well....I once read a Fantastic 4 comic where they teamed up with Black Panther and each character had like muscles everywhere....everywhere....and personally I don't like this style because I think it's unrealistic and makes others focus more on the muscles than on the dialogue....and for some reason the new style for Miles makes him muscular in a goofy way
Spike - "Seriously, a talking Dog is the weird thing about all this"
Me - "Not at all, the fact that you're a dog and not a lizard is much weirder"

Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
Alright guys, chill on the new style complaints. It's gotten old.
Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
Miles was always buff. Just in a different way.

Really looking forward to tomorrow's strip. Wonder if it'll go straight to the party
By the way I'm sorry for my complaint about the style, I had a party night and can't even remember writing it

I dislike working 12 hour shifts. I miss the fun of the strip so much!
Ah well, this should get very interesting indeed. I wonder how they will decorate the table this year?

I'd imagine it'd be along the lines of what you'd find in slasher films.

Makes being stealthy a pain in the rear. Speaking of pain, I wonder what's wrong with Bailey?

Anyways, I'm betting that King's concern over her current change in locale got to her. Probably made her realize that she really DOES miss her folks. As sad as it is to see Bailey in tears, I do think it's a good character development moment for her. She always came across as quite strong, both in body and heart, and this shows a bit of emotion in her. Bravo, Rick; Bailey seems a lot more fleshed out now.
I'd offer some predictions as to what Pete might do in regards to this, but I've learned that Pete's as easy to predict as a d1000000 (btw, 10 bucks says that's U&U's "d20" ), so I think I'll wait and see this time.
Anyways, liking the way this is going so far for the holidays! Can't wait to see more!

I don't think Joel had very much (if any) experience with girlfriends.

Or it's Bailey who read too much romances, which results in Fantasy Boyfriend syndrome.

I thought it was more Bailey knowing King ISN'T a fantasy/perfect boyfreind, and wishing he would try to act like one in the situation and simply believe her without question.
Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
I need to start thinking of a nickname list for all the pets. I should've done this when Maxie and Biney was brought up, but i figured it was just them. Sooooo...
And to be fair about the Metal Gear reference ~ King had an idea, so i thought of a lightbulb rather than an alert.

.... King used hun. I think a pet name might be a step forward for him...
I honestly had no idea what the Metal Gear alert sound was until I looked it up on Youtube.
Well, King is being assertive toward Bailey. I hope we find out what is wrong and get a nice resolution by party time.

I think the last few strips have been a little on the cluttered side anyway, so the space in panel 2 is good, in my opinion!

Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
Well, that certainly is an argument...
King is being awfully cold toward Bailey's feelings, refusing to understand her, just how he THINKS she should be feeling.

Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
I really kind of understand where both of them are coming from here they’re both basically right. King is right because it is utterly unfair what they did towards her (though I realize its very very likely that Pete set the whole thing up to were Bailey would have to be given away no matter what) but Bailey is right in that why should she be outraged there is nothing she can actually do about it.
Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
King is not right. he is not looking at things through Bailey's eyes, but through his own. He feels that Bailey should feel as he would feel in the situation rather than letting her deal with it in her own way. People and pets react differently to situations, and should be respected for how they feel rather than trying to force them to feel something they do not.

Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
Let me rephrase that a bit: I don't mean in the sense that he's right for trying to make her feel the way he wants her to, but I mean I understand how he feels about whats happening to her in that its unfair and shouldn't have happened.
Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
That's true in the human sense though. Most people want every living being in the same household to be treated equally. King is thinking the same thing, except Bailey isn't bothered by it. It's mostly a dog's way of life from the way Bailey described it, so she's just accepting it from the sounds of it like any normal dog would. Deep down, if things were more easier to control, Bailey would more than likely be more angry. Yeah, he's certainly right in the moral sense, but Bailey's right in a reality sense.IceKitsune wrote:Let me rephrase that a bit: I don't mean in the sense that he's right for trying to make her feel the way he wants her to, but I mean I understand how he feels about whats happening to her in that its unfair and shouldn't have happened.

Which is what I was saying by saying both of them have a point King is right because of what I said above and Bailey is right because there is absolutely nothing she can do so why should she be outraged by it.GameCobra wrote:That's true in the human sense though. Re: Arc #65 The Unbearable Lightness Of Being A Dog
hmmm....it seems its more 'Bailey is just really tough and doesn't see any reason to be upset' than 'King is being unreasonable about wanting her to be upset'. Also, didn't a previous comic strip indirectly confirm that giving away a pet is the equivilent of abandoning them.
I couldn't help but think that characters like Bino, Sasha, or Peanut would very well be outraged(or break down crying, in the latter two cases) at the meer IDEA of what happened to Bailey happening to them, even(or ESPECIALLY) if they couldn't do anything about it...
