"Itsuki, you have dishonored our family" "I'm sorry father" "If that's true then cut your hair" "but I don't have ha--" "then cut your tail!"

Is Seppuku, not sudoku. This is a sudoku:

Those Americans... always taking everything so lightly.

But still, studying there sounds nice.

Funny, when I was in high school last year, tests were 70% of your grade. Flopping one of those was actually a serious problem. D:
With just four tests you can get a 92 average with a 67 on one.
By making 100s, which was darn near impossible for most people. And we really had a ton more tests with that grading system to balance out the poorer grades.

But it's been established that Itsuki is a great student who, in the past, would be the one to set the curve. So to assume he gets 100 or darn near it on every other test is not a long shot.

You expect to get rewarded for something you're supposed to do?

incorrect. a 90 is above average, so "something you're supposed to do" is get a B or even a C. an A is something that should be rewarded.

You should get good grades for yourself, not for your parents.
That being said Itsuki is a bit too stereotypical. :I

you should also get a promotion at work for yourself, or graduate college for yourself, but people still celebrate and congratulate you.

I'm not saying you shouldn't get congratulated, but you shouldn't expect it.
It's nice if they do, but it is certainly not mandatory.

When I was younger, I cared a lot about my parents' opinion about my grades, which often led me to downfalls since I'm a person who takes words too deep into his heart. That's why I started to think about my own satisfaction of grades I got, therefore I knew what to expect from myself and if I was dissatisfied, where I should correct myself.
Remember, you study mainly for yourself. Not only for your parents. Because you forge your own future.

I stopped trying to make my parents proud when I figured out it was impossible. Thank God I care enough about academics to still try my hardest in school.
