I can sympathize there.

That sarcasm seemed a little curt for Joey, in my opinion. Or perhaps that's just me. I guess being friends with Lester would try your patience.

I thought his name was "Joey's creepy friends"...

Also, I just realized that their collar-tags are basically cutie-marks. Feel free to hate me...
copper wrote:Are all D&D games like this? :?
It depends on the players interactions regarding characters. Last time I played a tabletop RPG with what used to be my regular group, it ended with them complaining that my character, a 3 ft tall mechanist/pilot from a race of rat-like aliens, had so many little powers that she was becoming unfair. For reference, the other characters were basically space-Goku/Gogeta, fire-Cthulu, and Sarah Kerrigan....

Lacks the leader skills, but certainly has the Neelix effect.

Let's call him Worfy, or Worfs. And true to the nerdom, noone complains!

I feel sorry for Joey, he doesn't have many friends and the ones he does have are not alright in the head sometimes. It seems to run in the family for some reason.

It will. It just had a To Be Continued.

Rick said he will be picking it back up in the end of the year (the comic year) arc so in a few weeks I would say depending on how long the arc will be.

Because he'll immediately be replaced by another named Red? And so on and so forth?

I've only ever been a part of one table-top game, and we never actually got to finish since we started relatively close to the end of my last semester at my old college.

It's a shame, because there was actually no complaining whatsoever. It helps that we were all really good friends outside of our nerdy interests. So it was basically just like any other night hanging out... but with zombies chasing us around and bad luck with dice rolls. :B

This is actually the second comic I've seen recently concerning table-top RPGs, and it's reeeeaaaaally got me itching to play another one.

only once have I played a game that was even similar to a tabletop RPG. it was more like a tabletop fighting game where we each had character sheets with move sets, a back story, energy points and HP. I lost despite having a move where below 10% health my health went back to 50 and my move set changed (yes, I tag teamed him with the demon who possessed my character and still lost fair and square) it also had dice rolls to decide strength of the attack.
It was actually like LARPing without costumes. oh that was fun.
and now I'm rambling.

In the sense that Rick told us there would be a sequel to it in the future yes, but not in the sense that it left us hanging or didn't wrap up its main premise like What Money Buys did.

Wow, flashback to last week when I was yelling at a kid's show.....yeesh, I am getting old!

You know, I think Spo has the biggest text bubbles of any other character in Housepets. When he is around, it is half him, half text in at least one panel. The meek shall be heard, I guess.

My, what big teeth you have, Mr. Fido.

There are just too many silly slice-of-life/romantic-comedies about animals and too much crazy fantasy multiverse nonsense. I can see why one might get ranty.

An appearance of a snarky Fido, I have to admit I like it, it gives him more definition.

I've noticed a commonality amongst this set of one-offs so far.

character A complains about something to character B, who is one of the three brothers, then character B says or does something snarky.

next strip, someone complains to Bino about something and Bino replies snarkily. Or it gets subverted and Bino is complaining to another character.

Rick only wants to set us on the wrong track. Next strip: roo joke, no question.

I dunno, I think Rick got a lot of his kangaroo addiction out of his system when he wrote Ten Thousand Miles Up.

Am I correct in assuming that the "roughly double-of-normal-length-lifespans" rule applies to mice as well, making Spo easily younger than four? If that's true I think it makes the whole comic better.

that fact also lends validity to Liam's prediction, but it's probably unrelated.
