There will be many silly hi-jinx in this arc for sure. This is going to be so much fun.

I never read Macbeth, but I'm sure I'll still enjoy this arc.

also, we'll be saying Macbeth a lot, so that should cause a bit of trouble in their play.

I wonder who will be playing who:

Max - Macbeth,Macduff (either him or Peanut)
Grape - Lady Macbeth,Three Witches,Lady Macduff (if Max plays Macduff)
Peanut - Duncan,Macduff (either him or Max)
Tarot - Three Witches,Lady Macduff (if Peanut plays Macduff)
Sabrina - Three Witches,Lady Macduff (if Max plays Macduff I could see her playing this role)

Other then that I don't really know (and even these,out side the ones this comic established of course,are guesses) because I'm not familiar enough with the Characters and Story of MacBeth some one else should be able to get a better idea.

How can Max play Macbeth AND Macduff when Macduff kills Macbeth? (yes it's ridiculous to have a spoiler here, that's the joke)

lol I don't know I'm just making guesses I mean it could work in the context of the comic he just switches costumes between panels and stuff like that. I mean yeah Peanut is much more likely but I mean its not like its impossible for someone to play two parts in a play or movie.

It's really awesome and heartwarming to see Sabrina and Tarot hanging out with Grape as it is. It's just cute to see that Grape is getting to know more girls from when the series originally started.

I think the plot will more likely focus on the fate of Macbeth if anything. but you never know.

So it seems obvious to point out, but if Max is Macbeth and Grape, Sabrina and Tarot are all the witches... *pictures Grape playing with fate along with Tarot and Sabrina* ... Max is going to have nightmares =3

Wait, this is going to be a whole arc?

You know the first panel got me thinking are they doing the play for their owners or was it directed towards us the readers? It could also be something that Peanut and the rest felt needed to be done I guess.

Announcer: *To off-stage* Macbeth! A Tale of witchcract and murder! We are also proud to introduce Sabrina to our troupe, because she's kinda cool and we needed a third for the witch. So uh, Macbeth. *Announcer exit, enter Witch 1, Witch 2, Witch 3*

Witch 1: When shall we three meet again? In Thunder, Lightning or Rain?
Witch 2: When the Hurly Burly's done. When the battle's lost and won.
Witch 1: Yeah, but when will that be like?
Witch 3: Hail, I think. That will be ere the sun of set.
Witch 2: So like, 8:30ish.
Witch 1: Where the place?
Witch 2: Upon the heath! *Witch 1, Witch 2, Witch 3 exit, enter Macbeth*

Macbeth: *to off-stage* Did someone drop a candy wrapper here?
Off-stage: *burps*

B-but... King wasn't either! He was from his humanity untimely rip't!

No that IS how it goes. It was Macduff who wasn't of woman born.

King or anyone else for the matter will appear in this arc? I thought this was going to an arc with just Peanut, Grape, Tarot, Sabrina and Max and their pretend would be just like the Pridelands adventure.

I though that too, except with much less drama. Maybe. You never really know for sure with Rick, this early in an arc.

I'm pretty sure King is not going to appear at all. Peanut and Grape were doing Shakespeare, but they needed more, so they invited their significant others. They still needed more, so Tarot offered to invite Sabrina. I imagine if anyone else shows up, it'll be a friend of theirs. And King doesn't seem to be too close to any of the five participants. Plus he's far less silly.

I think the arc is already interesting as it is. I personally just wanna see how these five will work things out in this drama. We know it's not going to be %100 as the real MacBeth is, but that's what makes it so fun. I also like the fact that Peanut and Grape seem to continue to increase the size of their cast for their pretend games. next thing you know 10 years from now, the whole entire cast is doing it! @_@

Would be awkwardly funny though if Sabrina did somehow bring Fido or King over to play.

I think it's fitting that Sabrina's joining in. The first two imaginate arcs prominently featured the characters that were the key players at the time, and Sabrina's done quite a bit more in the last year than she had for the entire rest of the comic's run.

But those main characters also have a group dynamic going on. I don't think Sabrina would be invited if she weren't friends with Tarot, even if she is a decently prominent character.

I wasn't saying you were wrong, I was just pointing out an underlying real life reason for her inclusion. I do think it makes good story sense for Sabrina to be the one brought into the fun.

I keep wondering if the candy bar wrapper is that of a Heath bar. Or if Treebeard will arrive. Or if Joey ends up being part of this troop one day.

I thought that was the joke.

okay, now it makes more sense. I did not get that.

It's amazing how many people didn't catch that and still thought the comic was funny

well they were doing Shakespeare in a very non-Shakespeare way and were breaking character somewhat. that was funny enough to enjoy it.

but getting the punchline always makes a joke better.

...smooth move. I really didn't get the wrapper joke until now.

When i first heard of it, i first thought "Oh, that's cool. they are going to take the play outside?"

Then suddenly i learned for the first time of a heath bar. and i know my bars. how can life tease me so?

I still don't get it. That's probably because I haven't heard of that heath bar and that I haven't read Macbeth. But oh well...

It's a play on words. They're going to meet on the heath. Max has stepped on a Heath bar wrapper. I don't think you need to read Macbeth to get the play on words and, apparently, you don't need to know what a Heath bar is to find the comic funny. Or most folks don't. Anyway I tried to explain it (which I think defeats the purpose of the joke).
