I can't wait to see if Pete picks an Avatar in this arc. I'm guessing it won't be King, if Pete gets away with/does something to Joel's Fate anyway. I just can't see how that would be any different then what he did to him before (essentially just tricking him) in fact I think it would be much worse then that.

Considering he's going so far as to mess with King's fate now, i'm taking a good guess he's going to try something in the way of messing with King's life in such a way that he's going to wind up in Pete's possession again.

and i have such a hard time reading it, but i'm taking a stab at it and guessing that word behind Essence is Deal.

Edit: I could see him messing with King and a bit and making his life miserable yes, but not in a way that gets him back under his control because that's against the rules as far as I understand them and worse then just tricking him.

I think our fanfiction writers are going to go nuts with these four things once this arc concludes... ^^

He could be using King's Fate to gain control. As long as he doesn't activel interfere with his Fate, it shouldn't be against the rules of the game, and King would just have to believe that Pete is willing to change his Fate if he doesn't willingly become his avatar.

And what if Cerberus' appearance is a subtle way for Rick to say that hew has abandoned his comic to Cerberus Syndrome!?

Nah, he wouldn't do that, right?

I could maybe see that I guess, but then King can't really do anything willingly because it would be under duress at all times.

Edit: I could maybe see him dropping the Fate ball in the fight with Cerberus and maybe that doing something to King, but we don't know how it works so who knows.

And given how even after the A Sinister Shadow and the Dog Days of Summer arcs the comic returned to the normal shenanigans immediately afterward, I think we're safe.

I'm sure it's mentioned in traditional studies that Cerberus is Male, but that doesn't mean that this Cerberus is the same Cerberus either. And if it is, it's possible for Rick to give his version of Cerberus a different gender as well in his universe since, well, he can >.>
