Exactly.
I still want to give a hug to Grape and Res...and the shipping mobile for Graperes has already started...that's not cool, guys.

Grape's just being emotional. I'm sure she's not intentionally snubbing Peanut.

Gres?
Or Grapres
Considering her thinly-veiled self-insertion into his work, I think "Gapres" is the best name.

Also I might end up jumping ship eventually. Just a heads-up.

I think it is nice that Grape has a strong sense of justice.

And I see that I didn't win any bets. Oh well, that is what I get for betting on the long shot.

Wow, I just noticed that Grape said "He" while referring to Res. I was right! Hehe, I KNEW Res was a guy... somehow. I just KNEW it!

Rrr...that sounded more sarcastic than I meant...but that 'he' was pretty subtle in there...even though I was actively looking for it.

Well...Res never said himself/herself he/she was male. It was Grape who said Res was a guy. Do you remember when Peanut and Max thought Grape was male until she said she was female?

True--the Good Ol' Dogs Club even called Grape a "him" and she didn't correct them....

But I don't expect Rick to pull that same joke a second time in the comic....

OH how my feminist friend would get on you for that :P

I don't particularly think he acted feminine. I think he acted in a manner that someone who is socially isolated and shy would act.

Well he didn't act exactly feminine, but not exactly masculine either.
But it could be the whole shy factor.

I thought Res was female because of a few things that Grape did. She ate the burrito, she talked openly about saucy fanfic to Res as an icebreaker, and she was very friendly toward Res. They just didn't match up with how I thought Grape would act toward a male cat. Res looked feminine to me. But I think the biggest factor was transferring Ms. Auburn's gender onto Res, the whole author thing going on.

Anywho, Res is male and none of that matters. I want to see the very end of this arc! So many things needing resolution!

Well, of course it makes sense. It is a message from Rick. It is representing Max taking the place of Peanut in grape's life. Peanut will soon be phased out of the comic, making Grape the biggest character. The comic will be renamed The Grapes of Wrath from then on, and will center around her life.

That is the insane logic of a troubled mind. Go with it.

I think This is my new second favorite arc now. It all depends on the ending, though.

Why does Peanut have to be an artist instead of a romantic?

[sarcasm]This is exactly what I mean and it should be taken entirely within this context.[/sarcasm]

Actually artists get a lot of inspiration from their muse, which could be a romantic pursuit of said artist...so my comment wasn't really that well thought-out. :?
But to be fair, romanticism isn't exactly the same as love.

I predict that Saturdays comic will go one of two ways:

1. Peanut will leave to give Grape and Max some alone time Max having brought over the New Pridelands Novel to give to Grape and the two of them will hug (possibly kiss) and then the comic will end.

2. Peanut will not leave being to excited to read the new Pridelands book which Max brought over to give to Grape. The three of them will read the book together for Christmas, although Max will do so begrudgingly because he wanted alone time with Grape.
