Not to me he seems to be acting exactly how he normally acts around Grape.

Jerks are not necessarily jerks to everyone. At least... not equally.

i for example am only a jerk to exactly 83% of people.
the other 26.5% i am loathful.
the last .5% i am apathetic.

...

the point is max can be unjerky!
...i think...

I find it amusing how so many people expect Rick's characters to be one-dimensional. Have you learned nothing?!

I think we have all wanted to kill someone at some point.
For me, it was many times.

The fact that there's that many cats living around that area is crazy, at least to me it is.

Something tells me that prehaps not all 880+ cats and one dog are not from Babylon Gardens. Miss Auburn is there, so I'd think cats would be flocking from quite a distance to see her.

I wouldn't (EDIT: correction) think the bookstore would be IN Babylon Gardens. It is just one neighborhood.

Nonetheless, this doesn't look like it will be a pleasant situation.

I always love it when Grape shows her homicidal side. She is just adorable when she wants to hurt people.

My word Grape is violent. But I guess this might also connect to the title of 'Hope' of the Pridelands, but that is just me grabbing for straws.

Angry Grape = cute...No, skip that. Grape = always cute
Max is being especially cute, instead, since the start of this arc.

Max? Cute? No, I think he's just being more reasonable than usual...it's actually kind of strange IMO how he hasn't grinned yet.

And then Max becomes an unintended victim. ;_;

I was chucking at the idea of Max finishing that line while making eye contact with Grape.

The announcer then calls #189, Max notices that he has mistaken and the card was rightside-up, Grape wraps her scarf around her forehead and promptly proceeds to kill everyone.

I wonder what number Max is. Maybe it's much lower than Grape's, and she'll keep trying to steal his number, which will result in annoying him too much, and then he'll yell at her and leave.

That's gonna harm their relationship

I think they would be handing the cards out in numerical order. He's most likely #187 or #189

I would assume it's either one number ahead or below hers. and if he's ahead of her, i would assume he'd give her his number.

The only bad outcome i could see is since they are taking 10 cats at a time, i assume they are getting either group photos or just letting Miss Auburn see 10 cats at a time as they get their books. If Max happens to be 880, he will most likely have to let Grape see miss Auburn herself until his turn comes up or vice versa.

Third panel: "Now serving numbers one-six-oh through one-seven-oh at the book barn!"

Although I thought it was just calling the cats to get in line.
