Only in retrospect.

This new strip kinda reminds me the old ritual "mommy, mommy buy me!" that I hear each time I enter the mall

Mrs. Sandwich doesn't have a heart. How can she say "No" to Peanut? Besides, I bet the kibble is really cheap, too.

It looks as though, even if he did eat it, he would probably spit it out. This would be plot #2

because if she would say "sure" to much this might happen to Peanut

Re: One-Offs Set #17: Wait, what?
Fair point. More than fair. I would hate that.

I had the same situation with my parents, yet I always managed to get them to get it anyway.

Its called Parenting. Not always fair but you know how it is.
Re: One-Offs Set #17: Wait, what?
Mrs. Sandwich is becoming more and more like a parent to Peanut and Grape, even if she doesn't realize it... which I'm sure she does.

What else would she be? All pet owners are basically parents.zeroslash wrote:Mrs. Sandwich is becoming more and more like a parent to Peanut and Grape, even if she doesn't realize it... which I'm sure she does.

In some cases, yes, but I don't think Sasha's owner has the same mindset.Foxstar wrote:What else would she be? All pet owners are basically parents.zeroslash wrote:Mrs. Sandwich is becoming more and more like a parent to Peanut and Grape, even if she doesn't realize it... which I'm sure she does.

He's also an alcoholic. So he's not always in his mind, let alone in the right mindset to act like a parent.zeroslash wrote:In some cases, yes, but I don't think Sasha's owner has the same mindset.Foxstar wrote:What else would she be? Re: One-Offs Set #17: Wait, what?
Just wanted to input, and I doubt anyone else has noticed- is Peanut growing up? I mean, look at the very first comics. He and Grape are playing like Fourth-Graders, Imagination and Pretend, etc. And now Grape has a boyfriend, Peanut's looking bigger and sounding a bit more like a regular teenager.
It's some nice development.

Are you implying that they don't still play pretend? There was a whole arc dedicated to it fairly recently! And if he's taller, it's probably just a change in art style.

It's kinda like in real life. Children that have alcoholic parents are not treated well. Same may go for Sasha's dad.Tha Housedog wrote:He's also an alcoholic. Re: One-Offs Set #17: Wait, what?
Perhaps they really are growing up, but not as much as to stop playing pretend and other silly games, but still enough to be a bit interested into relationships.

Also, I immediatelly recognize about waht Rick talked.

Re: One-Offs Set #17: Wait, what?
Uugh, I hate when that happens. My cat used to do this every time it wanted in my room or in the house. Out of nowhere, I would hear a loud thump at the door. I think that that cat was trying to kill me...
Re: One-Offs Set #17: Wait, what?
poor Peanut will never read books in the same light anymore. Or Windows.
Took me awhile to notice too, but he does have pupils on the last panel there looking towards the window.
