You know, it’s not an easy decision to take back an unpopular idea.

Oh, sure, it’s also difficult to stick with one.  But there is also that sector of the fanbase that thinks that caving in is a bad thing no matter what is happening.

Honestly, if the best my position could be defended was ‘Rick just wants to make the comic more mature’, well, then I’ve failed on that regard.  Because this strip is supposed to be PG, and I have made it a point to myself that it will NOT get more mature and incur the wrath of the Cerebus Syndrome.

Of course, I hardly have kept the strip completely tame, because that’s not my thing.  Drugs are bad, but Illicit relationships and killing a minor character on-panel are a-okay!

As a side note, I think drugs are bad too.  And I have seen Requiem for a Dream.  I suppose in retrospect Housepets is not the best stomping grounds for that level of jokes.
