Maybe Peanut’s going to go to the Kitchen, raid the cabnets for Chips-A-Hoy, walk back to the living room (assuming thats where Earl Sandwich is), sits down infront of Earl, and starts chomping down with a dark glare on his face directed toward Earl.
Maybe, except he can’t eat chips ahoy. They have chocolate
actually dogs can eat chocolate, the whole chocolate kills dogs is a myth, like anything chocolate in bulk will kill anything but in small doses it wont and chips ahoy cookies dont have a bulk of chocolate (a bulk of chocolate is the equivilant of 10 full kingsize hershys bars in the matter of 10 minutes)

If it’s a myth, it’s a myth the veterinarians either believe or encourage for selfish reasons (so, either they’re badly educated, or they’re outright evil, if it’s a myth), since our dog got her stomach pumped after eating a moderate amount – let’s say about a (candy) bowl. Enough to satisfy a human, but no more.
If that’s what you mean by ‘in bulk’, it’s hardly ‘kill anything’ – I’m talking amounts that won’t even make a human naucious, much less sick.
If you’re going to counter with dogs being more sensitive – well, duh, that’s what ‘Dogs can’t eat chocolate’ means.
Actually, from my own research and through talking with the veterinarians in my city, I believe that chocolate is simply an extremely common allergy among dogs and cats. An extremely common RISKY allergy.
So when it comes down to it, why risk it?
chocolate is safe if it’s given in MINUSCULE doses from time to time, never every day.
Chocolate is cumulatively poisoning. It won’t make your dog go *irk!* and belly up with a bite, but (especially with older dogs) it will sum up to an unpleasant kidney/liver problem. An eccessive dosage will kill the dog.
Saying it’s a myth is plain irresponsible.
i give my dogs chocolate all the time i have three a german shepherd named charlie, a whippet named annabelle and a irish setter named sasha, anyways they get about 2-3 candy bar fulls in a 12 hour period and i never had a problem with them, also did you really need to get their stomach pumped or did you just do it cuase the dog ate the bowl? or did you call the vet and the suggested you get it pumped, i mean unless the dog was suddenly puking its guts up after eating the bowl it had no adverse effects on it

Wet-wipes, not tissues. i don’t imagine wet-wipes would really help remove tears that well.

My dogs do this everyday when I get back from work, I need to empty my pockets before I go inside.
Ditto. My dog thinks that there’s a squeaky toy in every one of the grocery bags when i’m putting them away. Sometimes there is, usually that is not the case but you have to admire determination.
this! even if I bring home a bag filled with the most inedible stuff, said stuff must be nose-approved first
We always bring our groceries in through the Garage. We bring in the produce and everything else either goes in the extra fridge/freezer or on the shelves in the garage. Minimizes the sniffing and wiggling of my Basset’s butt and tail but Maximizes the cold feet in the morning.

Perhaps he sealed his snacks in plastic wrap first. Then with the strong clean smell of the wipes covering the plastic wrap, he glued the already opened wet wipes to make it look like he’s going to open a brand new package. His hidden snacks tucked safely inside from Peanut’s cute nose?

That is SOO like my dog! anything that even remotely sounds like a chips bag and “poof” there he is! and if if ISNT a chips bag he has to snif every square micrometer of it to be sure.
…this is my new favorite strip( in my top twenties ) not just because it made me laugh for five whole minutes, but because of Peanut’s face in the last pannel! XD BTW, I think Rick is un-intentionaly arcing again 8^)

Ha! I have a cat who will take take, and attempt to eat, anything I proffer to him except for citrus. This includes bread, alfalfa sprouts, shed hair, and jalepenos. My doggle is similar in that she will gently accept most things (though not eat), except for citrus. She curls her lips up at oranges and then runs away. Very cute and sad at the same time.
I love all of Peanuts faces! So darn cute! And I Love the sniff inspection test. X3
Cats do it too. One of my relatives likes tuna sandwiches. When he opens a can, he gives the juice to the cats. Every time I open a can of anything, I get at least three cats expecting food and I have to let them sniff the lid to convince them I didn’t just open tuna
My cats do that too! I used to have a jar-o-catnip, so now I can’t make a PB&J sandwich without them at my feet.
I was over at someone’s house once, who had three cats. When I went to make cereal they never took their eyes off the carton of milk. It was kind of creepy.
I sometimes tease my cat(s) by waving my food around in the air and watching their head(s) move back & forth in a hypnotizing motion.
Usually after I’ve had my fun I give them a nibble… which leads to more hilarity because they come up running when I’m in the kitchen… and I have a laminate floor.

I have to be honest, the sounds of Peanut snuffing the container is just spot on cute, it is just what my dogs do to me every single time I have something. I go in the kitchen and open up a bag of shredded cheese or something and BAM, they are RIGHT THERE! x3
The worst is when they beg for things they don’t want, I could have a potato chip and they would be clawing at me and everything, then when I give it to them, a couple sniffs later, they just turn around and lose interest completely!
This morning we couldn’t get our puppy to eat her breakfast. We tried drowning it in water but she was still being picky. Then i accidentally knocked some dry Shreddies on the floor and she went crazy.

It took me a moment to get to read the smaller panels the right way but it works whatever way you read it.
Somehow I bet that it is food but it’s made by Itsuki so somehow Peanut’s nose is fooled by the Japanese ingredients.

My puppy actually learned very quickly, if I wasn’t offering her any, she didn’t want it for a reason. Even if it smelled really good.

no no, nipping at it is to get the texure and size of whatevers’ in the pack. Either that or he’s tryingto see if the pack tastes like a wet wipe pack (although I don’t know why he would already know what that tastes like).
Because as a puppy he bit everything just to see what it tasted like (and to see if it was edible), and later he’s occasionally nipped at wet wipe bags to see if they tasted like they should (otherwise it’s clearly not a wet wipe bag and might be edible)
I find it funny that “nose” is apparently a sound effect….
I bet my money that it’s an onomatopoeia. Someday, I’ll find out how to make that sound…
I have cats like this. They can detect a fridge opening from two houses down and Chicken from the next estate over.
This is SO accurate…, spot on! I have two Australian Shepherds that do this all the time! Annoying, humorous and endearing simultaneously.
Aaahahaaa this makes me laugh. My dogs are the same way, although they usually don’t care much about what we are doing unless what we are holding is something they have never seen before or it specifically looks like food. Or another animal. XD
I kinda feel sorry for Peanut cause he doesn’t have many dog friends to do that stuff with. Sure he has Tarot his girlfriend and Joey kinda but he’s more of a last one to expect kind of friends. Come on Rick give Peanut one more dog friend to hang with, doesn’t matter if he has problems as long as he likes hanging with Peanut!

There’s something about his eyes in that last frame that just look wrong to me, but I’ve been trying to come up with a way of explaining it and failing. They just don’t work, somehow.
