Bailey is crying?
Indeed she is … the question here is, why ?
Me says she felt she needed to cry over being abandonned by her family, but she couldn’t do it by herself so she watched “all dogs go to heaven” to force herself to cry.
Well, after re-reading it, maybe she lied about watching the movie…
I’m kinda not liking this. Anytime anyone is crying and has some weird excuse, it’s probably not a good thing… :’(
I’m betting her old family wants her back now, and she has to go back there and no longer see King.

I don’t like the increasing tension between Bailey and King… If it were Peanut and Grape I’d know they’d make up, but King is an unlucky character and Bailey hasn’t had much plot til now. The result is excessive worry over their relationship.
Abandonment, rejection, the feeling that you are not wanted, this is one of the most terrible things to feel, and Bailey is currently having to go through it. No matter her rationalizations, she is also a dog, even one with a human level of sapience, and thus a pack animal.
To have been ‘cast out’ by her family, of course she’s going to feel sad, no matter what face she puts on it, and of course she’s going to cry, and rightly so, it’s a needed experience, to help us get over our feelings of loss and grief.
King may be being a little harsh, but I think it’s more not simply an ‘I told you so’, but a feeling that she should have called him so he could have helped her through it.
He does love her, after all.

Someone made an attachment in SL that makes a metal gear style “!” appear over your head when you use a “!” in chat.. complete with sound effects. The problem was, I had never seen the game, so when everyone in the club started going *kashing!* together I was completely mystified.
I guess I’m no-one then, because the only thing I thought about was Dragon Quest…
the original metal gear solid predates all of those where do you think they got it from.

not so much of a breakup, rather their first serious argument. I suppose King can’t stand the idea of her crying over what her lousy ‘dad’ did to her. he expects her to be stronger than this. And this could lead her to wonder why he’s so cynical…and THAT could lead to unpleasant half-truths and webs of lies…
Wait, Wait!! King was trying to sympathize with a seemingly apathetic Bailey just a few strips ago. “Don’t they love you at all?” King says, to which Bailey responds, “King, we’re dogs. We’ll bounce back.” (Paraphrased for convenience). Now, I am not trying to undermine the situation, but I do not believe King expects Bailey to be stronger than the way she appears. I think King would totally understand if Bailey was crying because she misses her family. Wouldn’t you (universal you, btw, not you personally, Valerio)) cry if the ones you loved gave you up? Yes, Bailey’s “dad” did what he did, but I think this would only foster understanding and growth in the KIng/Bailey relationship. Bailey just needs to trust King with her true feelings. this could be very good, despite the relationship-bump.

Honestly I don’t think what her Dad did is all that bad – maybe they had no choice but to move into a no-dogs area, at least they gave Bailey to a family member and didn’t just throw her in the pound. But if he had a choice then yeah that’d be pretty mean. We don’t really have enough info on the situation.
I blame Pete… somehow. If he did cause it, he’s breaking the rules again! (can’t affect things outside of Babylon Gardens)

Um, King was not just sympathetic, he seemed more moved by Bailey’s predicament than Bailey was.
I think this is more likely to lead to soppy hugs and cuddles.

I must admit, however, that King’s muzzle looks a bit… off in a few panels, namely the panel before last. It’s also a bit wonky in the final one as well, but I love Bailey’s scowl in the final panel too. …Now that I look at it again, last panel actually doesn’t look that bad. X3
I don’t know if I’m completely sold on v3, but everything has its pros and cons.

The movie is depressing as heck, and its a children’s movie.
The main character DIES at the beginning (indeed, is murdered) but isn’t a very good person… at all. But because he is a dog, he automatically goes to Heaven, despite no good deeds. He then steals the watch that controls his lifespan, winds it up, and goes back to Earth, and as long as he keeps the watch wound, he won’t die.
But, if he does die, he can “never go back”.
Or to put it simply, he will go to hell. And naturally, in his new life, he is becoming a better person… so he wouldn’t actually DESERVE it anymore… helping out an orphan girl…
The reason all dogs cry at that movie is that all children do as well. And most adults.

I’m not from the modern day. What’s the metal gear alert noise? Is that some sort of signal that you’ve left the gearbox in neutral instead of first?
There is a game called Metal Gear Solid in whicyh you are a black ops that has to sneak in enemy bases and territory and assassinate certain targets, when an enemy detects you, a big exclamation mark appears above their heads and the sound “VRING! can be heard.
When i first read the comic, no I did not hear that noise. Now, upon reading the alt text I cannot un-hear it. Thankyou for that Rick.

He means to say he doesn’t believe that Bailey forced herself to cry by watching a sad movie. He believes that she’s lying so as not to make him worry.

Oddly enough, I don’t think MGS when I look at that “!” panel. Given that he immediately goes and asks Bailey for help with a relatively simple task, I just figure he’s got a quest for the brave heroine!

When she tried to cover it up by saying that she was watching “All Dogs Go To Heaven”, he took it to mean that she hadn’t been crying before, but since the movie is so emotional for pets, that she made herself cry watching it.
Or she could just be using it as an excuse as to why she was crying. It wasn’t being turned out by her ‘family’, it was a movie that was at fault…

That’s because this arc is focusing on King and his relationship with Bailey. I can reassure you that the next arc may, more than likely, have peanut reappear.
The comic is called Housepets, not Peanut and Grape. There’s other characters in the comic other then Peanut and Grape.
Yes, Foxstar, I’m fully aware of the fact that Peanut and Grape aren’t the only pets. I’m just saying that he MAY reappear( may, as in, a likely possibility).
