  1. Ryu

    Whoa this is interesting! o.o

  2. GarrisonSkunk

    Here we go again!

  3. GarrisonSkunk

Darn it, Keene, move your paw!

    • Dissension

“P.S. If you decide you want out, you’ll have to delve into the temple again. No sense in coddling you, after all.”

At least, that’s what I read it as.

      • GarrisonSkunk

Where did coddling come from? And how do you know its not “If you decide you want more”?

        • Dissension

I assumed, based on context, that “coddling” was the correct word.

I’m not always 100% right and believe your interpretation of the first part could be correct!

      • IceKitsune

I actually agree with Garrison Skunk I think it might be “If you decide you want more” you could be right about the second part though.

        • Argent Stonecutter

          That makes more sense.

          • GarrisonSkunk

Now the question….if Pete’s inviting/challanging Keene to re-enter the temple, will he make it so Keene can do it on his own (restrain the gargoyles, replace the missing section of floor) or will he need the others again?

          • IceKitsune

Its likely that by being his Minion Keene has some form of powers now to help him get though the temple as I’m sure Pete would consider turning off the dangers in his temple coddling him.

      • Verp

        Are you Rick’s avatar?

    • Salenstormwing

In small letters on the back of the page, “PPPPPPPS. Move your paw, the readers can’t read all the text.”

      • Silly Zealot

Nah, Pete is too evil to let Keene know he is obstructing our sight.

  4. Karishad571232

    Wait…. minion?

    evil ferrets. what next?

    • Verp

      Bunny prophets?

      • Karishad571232

        He already said that.

how much prophet would you make by selling a bunny anyway

        one with FOOT that GLOWS!

        • GarrisonSkunk

You could sell Zach and Tarot as a matched set of glowing pets.

          • Verp

Just the novelty would drive the price way up.

    • Argent Stonecutter

      Ferrets make lousy minions.

    • Dissension

Just so you’re aware, Karishad is an actual person. Please do not post under his name, as our rules do not allow impersonation.

      • Silly Zealot

I knew he was real!!! I knew talking foxes were real!!! Oh, crazy voices in my head, I’ll never doubt you again!

        • Verp

          I know a good exorcist.

        • bug

don’t worry Silly Zealot you’ll be comepleatly, logicly insane in due time. :)

      • Argent Stonecutter

So, like, Peanut or Grape are fair game then?

  5. Gabe23

Who saw that one comming …. So Keene just made a partnership with Pete … mmmm

    • Verp

I said work cooperatively; give me my soul back.

      • xhunterko

What? You just made a deal with the devil and you expected it to be fair? LOL!

      • xhunterko

You’d need a good lawyer to get out a that one.
(there is a lawyer in a short story that I remember from english class waaay back, cookies if you know it)

        • bene

          The devil and Daniel Webster

          • Verp

You beat me to the punch. I know of the short story, but we read the play out loud in one of my Junior High English classes. The teacher made me play the judge.

          • bene

Lol well ill share my cookie wid u :)

          • xhunterko

Well darn. You both get cookies.

    • Argent Stonecutter

I didn’t see this coming. I mean, how many times is Rick going to pull that “… or was it” schtick?

      • Javier

Once a year, i believe. Like christmas xdd

      • IceKitsune

I have to admit IMO hes kind of run the joke into the ground at this point but I think he realizes hes done that.

      • darastrixen

        It’s standard celestial policy.

      • xhunterko

What the dragon said. How could you not see it coming?

  6. Arjay

i’m pretty sure that becoming a minion is more of the sort of thing where you receive condolences for trapping your soul in permanent service to an evil deity, not a congratulations, but that’s just my opinion : p

    • Verp

Silly mortal; it’s tough love, not evil and it’s not permanent; just until you die.

      • Silly Zealot

Souls are inmortal, so they don’t die, (although it seems they do in the housepets universe if you turn them into pocket watches and smash them with hammers).

        • Argent Stonecutter

What if you feed them to black swords wielded by albinos?

          • Jesk

Humm. I don’t think I’d Compare Pete to “the dark one”
And I doubt he has tainted any sources of magic or sends those things out. He doesn’t have a Blighted mountain he’s sealed in.

He just wants to change the world not destroy it.

P.S. this only makes sense if You were in-fact referencing “the wheel of time”

I’m pretty sure thou as far as entry to heaven goes thou given that they outright said they were leaniante on animals.. Both sides of the game will gain entry. Or have the chance equally anyways.

          • Argent Stonecutter

Never read any of the Wheel of Time series. I was referring to Elric of Meliniboné.

      • Verp

i was just talking about one mortal life time. What is a life time compared to eternity?

  7. GarrisonSkunk

Alt Text: PPPPS ballpoint pens are awesome

    • ToaSoul

      well they are awesome

    • Raska

iknowright? I got the chance to use a fountain pen the other day. Waaay harder than it looks

      • Xane

Still easier than carving Akkadian into the wall with gryphon claws. Especially the fine print! Hey wait, shouldn’t it be spelled griffin, Rick? ;)

      • Air

Don’t even get me started on quills or dip pens. I’ll just stick with sketching pens. Forever.

      • Argent Stonecutter

We weren’t allowed to use ballpoint pens when I was in school, it was fountain pens or pencils (2B or HB only).

    • legendario13

well next time Pete wants to write something he has another option than carving stones…that would be the bright side of this part of the story

    • bene

As that supposed to be a doctor who joke?

  8. IceKitsune

So Keene is Petes Minion and is going to try and make Pete work on his terms for his goal, this should get interesting. Also Rick is Pete going to get an Avatar any time soon?

    • Gabe23

First, Keene is a very powerful ally, you know he have the same super power as Batman and Ironman, the power of the money.

Then, who says Pete doesnt has an avatar already *wiggles fingers*

      • IceKitsune

I guess its possible (though I doubt it), it depends on if he still tries to mess with King or not.

        • IceKitsune

Actually it would completely depend on if the Trial negated Kitsune’s ruling or not. If it didn’t then yes, yes he does have an avatar since he can manifest on earth now as shown in this arc.

        • IceKitsune

However his Temple might be some kind of exception to Kitsune’s rule.

          • xhunterko

            Probobly is.

          • Verp

But that would defeat the purpose of having a DM (UM?).

          • IceKitsune

How would his Temple being an exception to Kitsunes rule defeat the purpose of having a DM exactly?

          • xhunterko

I thought you were saying that since the Temple is Pete’s he can do what he wants in his temple. And that means appearing normally. Outside, however.

          • Argent Stonecutter

I think without an avatar he’s restricted to his temple, like he was before Zach released him.

  9. Elwood Blutarsky

Wuss, come on and destroy the order of the world for funnies. It’ll be cool.

    • Silly Zealot

Yeah, bringing equality to all beings through diplomacy instead of forcing it upon them with magic is lame, it’s the morally right thing to do but it’s lame.

      • SecretAgent000

Remember, the raping and pillaging of the land should be for entertainment purposes ONLY-if you’re going for an economical method, diplomacy and sustainability are where it’s at.

        • Silly Zealot

Well, it would certainly entretain ME! (I’m a very bad person, but at least I’m honest about it).

    • Verp

I would use a Gandhian or Martin Luther King approach myself, but that’s just me.

  10. rallyjr

seem he grew tired of this conversation; must be nice to just end an conversation with 2 words

    • cheetahwolf

Dont you dare—!!! was it a dream, yes! wait, no. who cares anymore just go with it.

  11. dancin' fool

Okay, still think Pete is a better option then Dragon. Since I’m pretty sure he’s already started to make good on his promise of ‘Man and Beast walking together’ I mean, would explain all the talking animals. And also still think dragon isn’t as ‘good’ as most people think.

    • Xane

I don’t like forced transformation, so for a long time Pete changing Joel into King creeped me out to no end. Also didn’t like him because of how mean he was. But… the implication that Dragon manipulated Peanut and Grape into falling in love using Tarot and maybe Max… even if Tarot actually does love Peanut, it’s still even more horribly creepy and manipulative than what Pete did.

      Also, Pete’s cuter.

      • Zaitsev

That’s why you have to favour the impartial third parties in these situations. In this case The Great Kitsune.

      • Argent Stonecutter

Peanuts feelings for Grape weren’t reciprocated, Tarot had nothing to do with that, and Tarot/Dragon genuinely have feelings for Peanut.

        • Xane

Pete specifically says that Dragon prevented him from gaining “the cat”. Since Grape didn’t reciprocate Peanut’s love at the time, clearly Dragon did something to make her more likely to fall in love with Max to negate her as an avatar. You know, like make it rain so Max would show back up on the doorstep with big kitten eyes. And he asks why Tarot is still with Peanut, as if the only reason it was done was to manipulate things so Peanut couldn’t be used either and it wasn’t necessary to keep up the facade after the temple was open. Even if Tarot and Dragon both actually love Peanut, the original intent was manipulative and would have been cruel otherwise. At this point I really don’t like Dragon at all.

          • GameCobra

That’s a bit of a stretch having Dragon change the weather and all just so Max would come. I just chalk it up to convenience there. Also, even if Dragon manipulated Grape, there’s still the chance that Grape could’ve been jealous of Tarot hanging out with Peanut, which doesn’t seem to be the case with Grape. Even if it was manipulative, it doens’t seem to be out of malice, just quickly trying to patch up a problem with her own intervention.

          • Argent Stonecutter

If their positions were reversed… given what _else_ Pete did to King after the forced transformation… what do you think Grape and Peanut’s life would be like?

          • IceKitsune

Argent he did that to King because it would power him up since Grape and Peanuts powers worked differently he wouldn’t have been so mean to them.

GameCobra its not really much of a stretch at all really, considering that IIRC when we found out about what Dragon did Rick did say that Dragon was not completely innocent in all of this either. So yes I think its very likely she got Max locked out of the house and changed the weather just so he would come over.

          • GameCobra

That would be another stretch again though to assume that Max is being manipulated unknowingly by the gods as well. While i give credit it’s not entirely impossible, Weather manipulation for a romantic scenario is a very long and farfetched idea considering we seen Dragon fighting weather gods, but not change the weather herself. I’m more than willingly to believe Max was told by Dragon to see Grape, but again, i’m going by the coincidence.

          • bhPixelFire

If I remember correctly Tarot TOLD Grape to accept Peanut fully she would have to break Max’s heart.

Hold on… *looks for exact moment*

          • IceKitsune

GameCobra the Nerds can create there own universe if they wish. I’m pretty sure making it storm would be easy for them to do. I will admit it is possible that Max was just asked by Dragon to come over and come up with the being locked out of his house sob story.

However if your right, you now have Max willingly manipulating Grape as well and therefore just as bad as Dragon in that scenario IMO.

          • bhPixelFire

            I’m not saying I don’t like Dragon.
I like her more than Pete for the simple fact that she actually cares about not completely destroying everyone’s lives.

          • GameCobra

But this ain’t their universe. they just moved to it, and as it was shown, they don’t have the power to do everything they want ~ weather control was something someone was able to do. From my understanding the beings have more control over things like law and philosophy, not weather and nature, but that’s another story.

I’m only saying that about Max as a possible reason, but i’m not going to buy that story either. Even if i did condemn Max as someone that also manipulates Grape, that doesn’t automatically mean Max should be considered a bad guy right off the bat. I know Grape would definitely have an issue with it, but I give people the benefit of the doubt before i accuse them of treachery.

          • IceKitsune

They can’t do what ever they want to Mortal (unless they feel its in their best interest of course) due to Kitsune’s rules of the game. I’m pretty sure making it rain is completely fine GameCobra as there is no real reason to restrict their ability to do that. I don’t know where your getting that they have more control over abstract concepts like law and philosophy rather then Weather and Nature.

I’m not saying that Max would be a bad guy (as in a villain) just that he would be a very huge jerk if that reason is correct. (which has been established before in the comic I might add) I don’t actually see the Nerds as villains (not even Pete) really, just colossal jerks.

          • Xane

The rain thing was just an example. For all we know Tarot went and locked Max’s door through mundane methods so he’d have to come back right as Grape was intending to break up with him. Either way, Dragon prevented both Peanut and Grape from being avatars, and the only way to do that was to make them fall in love. While I still think Pete’s a jerk, in my opinion, manipulating someone into falling in love is slightly more on the Evil™ side of things, but I don’t really think Dragon or Pete are actually evil. Especially since both Pete and Kitsune were laughing at her actually falling in love with a mortal… which kind of implies it was an act at first.

          • Redallover

At Any Rate, It is apparent that Peanut still does have feelings for Grape and Grape for Peanut. Remember after the Imaginate Too! arc, Grape did reciprocate by kissing Peanut on the Cheek.
Whatever the situation may be between the nerds, I don’t think it is such a big deal. Dragon merely put opportunities in the way, but did not change the wills of any of the characters. The characters made the decisions on their own. It doesn’t change the fact that Pete and Dragon may be jerks, but life still goes on and we all know that Grape and Peanut both have a crush on each other, despite the fact that they both are invlved in a relationship. Need I reference the Mall arc:
They both look like they are having a good time and enjoying each other’s company.
So basically, all Dragon did was create a love-triangle, but that isn’t too out of the ordinary? I mean, those things happen naturally all the time, Right?

          • bug

All in all, I think things are going swimmingly for Penut & Grape things would not be the same other-wise! In Dragons defence I say she did what she did in a way to stop Pete and not tamper with people as mutch as posible. -_-

      • darastrixen

I know it’s been said before, but I don’t necessarily think it’s all that creepy for dragon/tarot to have “set up” Peanut. Brought up was Pete’s question about why Tarot was still with “the dog,” and it was admitted that there were real feeling there (Tarot’s and/or Dragon’s; hard to tell). This can be looked at in two ways:

        1) That Dragon put Tarot onto Peanut in order to make him feel in-love so that Pete couldn’t claim him; reciprocation came afterwards.
        2) Dragon/Tarot had feelings for Peanut, but were not immediately acting on them [presumably because, at the time, Peanut was infatuated with Grape, and may not have been open to other amorous advances]; they moved in when it became clear that Grape would not be leaving Max, and as a consequence of doing so, they “protected” Peanut from Pete.

The second scenario seems acceptable non-creepy to me, assuming its truth.

    • rallyjr

making all the animals talk seem too big of a task for Pete since most of his power has been sealed up in his temple

      • IceKitsune

Also the Nerds arrived long, long, long after Animals were able to talk.

        • darastrixen

What IceKitsune said, but with a caveat. Dragon and Pete arrived a long time ago (at least 5,000 years ago, if Pete’s testimony can be considered accurate, and we can assume it was, given the “semi-omniscience” of the audience he told it to). However, the promise to elevate animal-kind was taken up recently, with Keene’s “father;” there’s no way that animals start randomly deciding to talk goes without *major* attention, so we can assume this is not the case.

  12. Elwood Blutarsky

The most important rule of the Mana: keep it away from Rock!

  13. Marco

Wait…so no treasure to take home, everyone else thinks its just a dream and Keene is Pete’s minion? *Sigh* so much for the rich and glory! : (

    • darastrixen

Daryl might think it was just a dream, but Sabrina knows better, Zach will know better even if he doesn’t want to, and with the way that Karishad seems to be able to slip past the Temple’s defenses daily, I wouldn’t be surprised if waking up unexpectedly is a daily routine for him, haha.

      • Gatuno

        And where is Daryl?

  14. Xane

    “Not for internal use”

So was everyone in on this dream or only Keene?

    • Argent Stonecutter

Yeh, did they all dream it together?

      • ToaSoul

well to daryl it would be a nightmare

        • DanTwelve3

Zach too. Poor wabbit almost had a heart attack.

    • Redallover

They were all involved, I say everyone was in the dream/reality. OR WAS IT?

    • Kamil

I’m going to refer you to the last panel of the previous page.

  15. Zaitsev

Now my question is, did he pull the or-was-it on everybody in the party or was it just Keene? If so how would Daryl react to that?

    • GarrisonSkunk

Daryl would say “Thank goodness that was just a dream” and go back to sleep.

      • Xane

Daryl probably fainted so hard he’ll be hiding under the bed with his teddy bear until Miles finally drags him out. Such a big (cute) puppy!

    • volkoseba

I’m guessing you can’t do that sort of thing to Karishad… he just does whatever he wants.

      • rallyjr

Karishad is probably still in the temple somehow

        • Xane

Karishad probably told Pete to wake up!

    • Wolfswift

I suspect he did, but as we know, Sabrina is wiser than that. Karishad likely evaded it… somehow… and is now rich off the treasure he’s getting away with, lol. But Daryl and Zach are probly none the wiser about it not being a dream. Just my theories.

      • ToaSoul

Now that i think about it i don’t think thats treasure. If you look at the peice of Mana it looks like all the gold on the ground

      • GarrisonSkunk

Zach already believes his nightly meetings with Pete are all just dreams.

  16. falcon01

I think the BIGGEST issue here is….mana is tasty, and that would be a hard to resist thing for any ferret!

    • Argent Stonecutter

      You’re thinking of manna, no?

      • Silly Zealot

        Oooooh, religious references!
But no, I think he is talking about mana, delicious, delicious mana. Go for it Keene!

  17. GarrisonSkunk

So when Rick said “Two extra comics” did he mean this is the end of the arc (Counting strips) or Wensday will be (Counting days). The ‘wake up’ generally signals the last installment.

    • Dissension

      • Silly Zealot

        This is the end? Booo.

      • Argent Stonecutter

Hmmm, he usually ends arcs on a Friday.

        • GarrisonSkunk

Yes but he tweeted that he had “two extra comics” — if that means two extra strips it ends today, two extra installments and it ends Wendsday.

          • IceKitsune

He also said that he Made an unrelated arc pay off in this ending. Since I don’t see any unrelated arc paying off here (unless I’m missing it) I don’t think its over. This was likely the original ending and the unrelated arc pay off part of the ending will be Wednesday and Friday.

          • Dissension

            Indeed, GarrisonSkunk

        • Gabe23

Well, we still dont know what happened to Thomas and Celia, so the arc could follow that path

          • IceKitsune

Maybe but I have a feeling that plot line is going to end up like Keene being stuck at the zoo in Holiday at the Zoo or him recruiting Karishad to look into the temple in What Money Buys. It will be picked up at a later time.

          • Silly Zealot

I really, really, really, really, really, really hate when things are left in the air until a later date!

          • Gabe23

I actually really enjoy that, the storyline is more … “open”

  18. xhunterko

I was wondering when this would show up.

    • xhunterko

Anybody esle notice the great perspective work in this arch or just me? Hopefully not just me.

      • Verp

I can tell Housepets is a real labor of love.

  19. *WhiteFang*

Yep the whole “Its just a dream” trick lol

  20. IceKitsune

You know if Pete was smart then he could easily use Keene to screw over Dragon. Pay Tarot and Sabrina’s owner to move, since he used to travel a lot before settling down and they have way more then enough money I’m sure he could be persuaded to do so. Then Peanut and Fido are open as being Avatars and Dragon loses.

    • IceKitsune

This is assuming he doesn’t have an avatar already as I speculated in comments above of course.

    • IceKitsune

Also before anyone points this out this is not to say long distance relationship don’t work (I’m in one so I know they can) just that a lot of the time they don’t so it would be a really good idea for Pete to try considering how far behind he is.

      • bhPixelFire

I know what you mean, me too.
And now that I think about it, you’re right! King would no longer be an acceptable avatar because he is in love.

        • IceKitsune

King is a different kind of Avatar (a Dark Paladin in this case) he doesn’t have the requirement to not be in love like Peanut, Grape and Fido did as they are Dream Sunderers.

          • bhPixelFire

            So that doesn’t matter?

            Simply because he was human?

          • IceKitsune

No because he is a different Avatar class in the game not because he was human.

          • darastrixen

Correct. Although it is likely that Pete would attempt to sever the relationship in any event, because it would lead to King’s suffering, from which the Dark Paladin class draws its power.

    • Gabe23

In that situation, Fido would be open as an avatar, BUT I don´t think Peanut would, cause even if Tarot is away, he still love´s Grape.

    • IceKitsune

Ok according to Rick on the forums Tarot doesn’t actually belong to Sabrina’s owner. So I guess Peanut would be safe from Pete even if he did this.

  21. Kimo

So… Does that mean King is free?

    • Gabe23

      Yeeeaaaaa…. no

  22. D-Rock

So now he’s Pete’s minion. I’m guessing that’s different from avatar?

Wonder what everyone else’s reactions to this is. The whole dream concept gets weirder when there are multiple individuals involved.

    • Scruff

I think the avatars still have to be cats and dogs, no?

    • Dena

Minion = someone they can command and grant power to, but not possess outright

Avatar = A person Pete / Dragon can possess to work on the mortal plane

  23. Marco

Does Sabrina still know everything that occurred up to this point?

    • Silly Zealot

      I say yes.

    • bhPixelFire

      I’m sure.

  24. KMC

I’m surprised he can read that note without the use of a magnifying class.

    • KMC

      Make that glass, not class.

  25. GameCobra

I like to think Keene leveled up and got extra mana for his troubles =3

    • CloudStrife

      thieves dont use mana….

      • GarrisonSkunk

Kari probably stuffed some in his hammerspace pockets.

        • Raska

Hammerspace pockets? I love those! They’re so useful

  26. GarrisonSkunk

Pete lost an opportunity to be dramatic.

Pete: “Not for the reason you’re thinking of, Prophet!”
    Zach: “I’m not your Prophet!”
Pete: “Fine. If you’re not my Prophet, you’re my loss.” *Snaps talons. Zach disappears in a cloud of smoke*

That would have gotten Keene’s attention.

  27. GarrisonSkunk

And how does Mr Steward fit into all this?

    • Silly Zealot

He got left out and went sad face. OR he’ll appear on the epilogue! :D

    • Xane

I figure he has a far more mundane hand in all this… as a spy for Thomas Milton. Who will have more than a few vivid metaphors to impress us with once he finds himself being chased by gargoyles and gryphons/griffins/griffons.

  28. The Maverick Man

    Mystical House Egging

  29. Salenstormwing

As a ferret, eating the mana or hiding it behind the couch is pretty much a 50/50 chance.

  30. Draven

I like Pete’s sense of humor.

    • bhPixelFire

      Me too…

      Serious sarcasm… I didn’t think that was even a THING…

      • GarrisonSkunk

        Good…Peanut agrees with himself ;)

        • Verp

What’s bad is if you argue with yourself and loose.

          • Draven

What are you talking about? You can’t loose an argument with yourself!

          • Draven

Quiet you, of course you can!

  31. impmon12

    I agree,but with Keene being Pete’s avatar…
xD aHaHaHa pete has no idea?!
But think of his resources… (?)

    • Silly Zealot

      Minion, not avatar.

  32. GreighVonGottreich

I like this story arc quite well. :D

Is it me, or am I reading Pete having the voice of John De Lancie? (ref. “Q” from Star Trek: TNG)

    • bhPixelFire

Hmm… I never thought of that.
But now that I did, it would make sense.

      • GarrisonSkunk

Does that make Keene Capt Picard or Quark from DS9?

        • Verp

          Quark, Ferengis like shinies too.

    • Verp

I hear John De Lancie, except when his voice was described as soul deadening, then I heard Hannibal Lector.

      • Verp

Alan Rickman would do a good soul-deadening voice.

        • GreighVonGottreich

Putting it that way …. Yeah, I see where you’re hearing Alan more. :)

  33. cheetahwolf

Grape is not going to be happy with this.

  34. Silly Zealot

That griphon…. is totally entitled to his own hate club!

  35. Ozimul

So Mana is like silicon packets?

  36. bhPixelFire

    I saw this coming…
    But not for a while.

I thought that things would end up being explained with a little more detail.
    *shrugs* OH WELL

  37. illeatyourself

Ballpoint pens are awesome but pencils are more awesome and ink pens and quill pens are the coolest. :P

    • Verp

I am reminded of a story from the space race. The US spent millions of dollars developing a pin that worked in zero g and a vacuum. The Soviets used pencils.

      • Yehoshua

        Unfortunately, that’s a joke.

  38. T-Squared

P.P.P.P.P.S.: BTW, I teleported your soul out of your body, so if you want to reclaim your body, you’ll have to come back to the temple anyway. Just go to the baggage claim, and they’ll have it behind the counter.

    • Verp

Don’t ya just hate it when that happens.

  39. Verp

One mana? If it is a fundamental unit, it would be a manum. Otherwise, it would be like saying one air. I was taking an IQ test in grade school by my counselor and the question was “These are soaps; this is a ____ .” along with a picture of bars of soap. I said “Piece of soap.” because soap is a substance, not a discrete object. She stopped, gave me a funny look and wrote something down. She told my parents she thought my answer was better than the correct one (a soap). Taking IQ tests was one of my favorite activities because it was a fun challenge and it got me out of the classroom, so I got ludicrously high scores.

Perhaps Pete is just likes being an asinine pedant at the expense of logic when it comes to grammar. That would be in character. Maybe it’s just a griffin thing.

  40. ravor9933

Wonder what King would have to say about all the “or-was-it-all-a-dream” stuff

    • Verp

He would want to wake up. Trying to get back together with Bailey would be awkward, though.

      • GarrisonSkunk

Especially if Bailey’s the new Avatar.

        • SecretAgent000

But itsn’t she in love with King? Or would she be a different class?

          • Verp

I was thinking in terms of King being human again.

  41. GarrisonSkunk

And Keene’s still wearing a hat. Or rather nightcap.

  42. Red Ryu

I get the feeling the whole Ferret House will be under Pete’s control soon.

    • GarrisonSkunk

Why do I get the feeling the mana will somehow fall into Duke’s paws?

      • Verp

Then we would find out what happens when you do eat it.

  43. AleColin

Why is it that everytime when someone ends up with Pete or other powerful animal God they end up waking up on their beds.

  44. Some Guy

Keene has gained one (1) shiny!

  45. Lance

did anyone notice that Keene (shown here) hasn’t read the back? the comic shows US the back of the paper, but doesn’t show Keene reading it. :u

    • AthiosDvK

Actually, the last panel shows Keene’s hand flipped over, like he just rotated to read the back. Perspective, my dear Lance, is the name of the game today. ^,.,~

  46. AthiosDvK

*Can’t help but sing* Across the highways of fantasy…. Meet me on the other siiiiiiide…
    Ooooooo, Dreamweaver!

  47. Z24

    Hmmm…. Mana Ommelet

  48. Spork Master

That awkward moment when you wake up from a false adventure and a conversation with a demi-god holding a mana and a paper.

    • GarrisonSkunk

So, you’re saying he was California Dreamin’?

      • Spork Master

  49. Kurra

I’ve lost track of what this strip was about like 150 strips ago. :< I still love it though. but i lost

  50. Billy MT

A Mana Egg… Seriously Rick? XD

What’s next, a glowing decorated sword? Citadel-size airships? Scary earthquaukes? Deep-fried goodness? XD

  51. Radio Viewer

    What could one mana do?

    • Argent Stonecutter

Grant one minor wish, perhaps? Turn King back to Joel?

      • Verp

The mental image I get of someone eating it is he or she powering up like in a video game, doing remarkable things and then spontaneously combusting.

      • ToaSoul

well if Keene knew that he would be thrown even father into the Game than he wants to be

  52. Shane

He should leave the Whole “Or Was It” Gig to Kitsune. At leaste he leaves an Awesome Tropy thing behind. xD

  53. microbuss

heh Idk about you but if I was him I’d seriously go back to the temple again ;-)

  54. Verp

I just had a really odd thought. Pete and the dragon remind me of my parents.

  55. FerreTrip

    Uh-oh. O_O

    And that’s what mana looks like? Huh. I imagined it’d be…I dunno…bluer.
