yes, a lightswitch to turn on the apparently fire torch. *gasp* they must be everburning torches! loot them!
That or gas. Be very afraid if you flip the switch and they DON’T come on.

Oh, don’t worry about that – Real easy to rig the Wall Torch up to a light switch, just like a Gas Log. You can use the same sparker, flame sense pilot and everything. Only the Main Burner is the torch head, and it’s “Wick” is ceramic fabric, and it’ll take 5 seconds or so to light.
“Click!” {tic-tic-tic-} (pilot light catches) {psss-Whoomp!} (Torch lights.)
Blew my mind the first time I really saw the gas sconces at Aladdin’s Oasis, Disneyland – with a manual reset Mercury Safety on the burner head.

There were cartoons using the name “Elmer” before the first cartoon using the name “Bugs”.

so doesnt mean that the entire temple is modern… well now we know that it is modern but i digress earlier it wasnt exactly clear on that point
I still suspect the dungeon is the byproduct of The Curse of the Mysterious Temple, so I think the dungeon might be the work of the dragon or kitsune. Of course if Pete is the one who decides what the inside of the temple should be like, then who knows what is up. Then there is still the question what role a follower of the dragon’s avatar has in all this.
Karishad’s unique talents make him the only one who’s safe alone.

Huh! Why the animals of this comic are all three toed? Real canines have four toes on their forelegs.
Same reason they’re four-fingered. Cartoon characters are always shy a digit.
The main reason is that it is much easier to animate four fingers rather than five.
The urban legend of it was Walt Disney having all his characters four fingered so his animators didn’t slip any one finger salutes into the movies, either accidently or otherwise.
So the rumors are true!! Housepets was intended to become an animated cartoon since the beginning all along!!!

Zach also faints in “The Age Of Aquarium” and “The Problem With Volunteer Help”. I don’t recall any ferrets fainting.
I meant more in terms of ferrets fainting in real life. It tends to happen when they get overexcited, something to do with blood sugar levels. I’ve never heard of rabbits fainting.
Rabbits are notorious for suffering from shock when frightened or startled.
i should know my friends rabbit is startled every time he pulls in the driveway, when i went over to the cage he was rolled onto his side heart beating fast… well faster than normal
This is by far one of my favorites strips, Karishad seems impervious to danger.
Heh, so many amusing references in this one… although that last panel also had me wondering how long even the 4th wall will last against Karishad (nothings safe from that fox it seems).

Ok, long time reader that’s NEVER commented before – but this post and hte last one finally forced my hand. The whole grue thing pushed me over the edge: AWESOME! You can’t believe how awesome I find these two strips (And the comic as a whole, and the long arcs in particular). Seriously – best two I’ve ever read. Just: wow. I salute you, Rick. Very well done indeed. Thank you. Also: the comments on this one really educated me on cool stuff and made me laugh, too. :^)
