Without Tarot’s help, what other secrets lay within that ancient temple? o.o
And what does Pete wins by giving Zach those dreams ?
Its possible he doesn’t want Zach to get these dreams it could be an accident (like Pete is doing it subconsciously and doesn’t know) or they are meant for King or someone else and Zach is just getting them by mistake.
Or it may have to do with Zach releasing Pete from his imprisonment 3 years ago. In doing so might have left behind some kind of psychic resonance on Zach’s body. That might explain his visions the dreams he’s having about Pete lately?
Or Pete is looking for another avatar since he can’t have King.
Or maybe Pete is just playing his cards for finally getting King as his avatar
He can’t use Zach due to the cat dog limitation.
He can’t have Zach as an avatar, but he might still be able to use him in other ways. Perhaps have him as a ‘follower’.
Remember, whoever released him was supposed to get a power boost as an avatar. Zach’s gotten the power boost, but he’s got no idea what it is, what it means, or what to do with it…
So its likely that when he got that power boost it would have unlocked what ever his Avatar/Class powers where meant to be. The dreams could be a result of his powers and nothing to really do with Pete at all.
Maybe its a vision of the future or something like that and not a dream.
Well, it *was* Pete’s mana pool he got it from.
Well what I mean by “Nothing to do with Pete” is that Pete isn’t directly causing the dreams; like giving them to Zach knowingly. I agree that it could be why hes dreaming of Pete however.
Oh, no, I’m sure Pete would be mortified to learn about it.

Pete merely has to get Zach’s permission to turn him into a dog or a cat, or even set up a situation where it’s in his own best interest, so it’s not impossible for Zach to end up as Pete’s avatar.
Maybe a fennec so he can keep the long ears.

I thought they altered the rules so Pete couldn’t get another avatar through transformation.
No, they said he couldn’t transform someone against their will again… but King was stuck because weird time junk to undo the transformation was off the table.
No, it wasn’t because of weird time junk it was because Kitsune wanted Pete to do it, (because remember Dragon offered to change him back) and Pete wouldn’t, so he decided to just have him wait to the end of the game.

I didn’t notice that at first, but you’re right, the ‘bubble breaks the border’ thing is pretty obvious clue I should have noticed (note: the fox also has the power to break the borders <.<)
Pete’s not breaking the 4th wall, he’s just monologueing. Antagonists do this all the time; it’s just one of those things.
Ok at this point I’m becoming convinced, that this is going to eventually end with King, Keene, Zach, and Karishad (maybe not him or maybe more) becoming some kind of anti-cosmic nerd force.
That sounds like a Spot (superdog) plot.
It would be nice to see Spot punch Pete right in the beak.

Pete’s certainly gone the gamut from Magical Friend in Grape’s vision, to real jerk dealing with King, then slightly bufoonish nerd defending himself and the Game, and now this.

I thought that was Pete somewhat jealous of mortal’s statis. Mortals can have happily ever afters, but by definition immortals can’t have happily ever afters since they don’t have ‘ever afters’, the term requiring (or at least implying) an eventual ending.

No, hes talking about the forest animals the worship him taking his journal to read it as some kind of holy text.
This was shown at the end of the Water Balloon War arc. The raccoons borrow it and apparently return it the next day.
They don’t “borrow” it, you don’t just “borrow” a holy relic. Clearly they transcribe it into illuminated manuscript.

I guess its possible that Zach is also a Dream Sunderer like Fido Grape and Peanut. That is kind of a lot of Dream Sunderers in one place though, kind of a massive coincidence. However its likely, if that is the case, Pete may have “summoned” them here some how.
I have the feeling that the list of classes is far to vast to fit into something as crude as a book, so the chances of there being two pets in the same class is rather slim. And let’s not even get into the matter of prestige classes….
