Yeah, I really love the lot development arcs.
And the treasure hunt was one too long delayed!
One question, though, why is Milton’s nephew still partnering with his sister if he doesn’t need her anymore and she betrayed him?
Perhaps I used the wrong words….I meant one that has relevance to the overall plot lines, as opposed to say the Allan and the Groundsquirrels arc. While fun (as are all of Rick’s strips), not really the same weight in the long run overall.
Eventually Linking together each of the characters into some huge plot flood involving the unveiling of the nature of the game to all of its pieces and NPCs that creates some sort of causality crisis (that voids the game) as the climax to the comic would be a really trippy way to end it all out…
o.o
This was a dream i had about 2 nights ago. Just thought I would share.
Well this is going to be good and we know exactly where the temples were from. And likely where Tarot comes from depending on how the whole Avatar and Followers thing works.
Got the feeling Thomas will inmedeately leave africa, now that he found out the temple is in another continent.
I think this story arc will be about the whole “phisically equalize all beings” plan Keene has going on.
Wonder if it will turn all animals into humans or all humans into animals…
And likely Dragon as well since this seems like it will involve the temples they were in. Hopefully if there are other player to the U&U game (and Pete wasn’t just talking about the followers or Avatars like Tarot and Sabrina ect.) we will learn about them as well.
Its possible but I doubt it this is most likely going to be a Keene (and maybe the other Ferrets as well) and maybe Karishad focused Arc with King likely being involved as well.
Well of course it is still impossible to know who exactly will be in this comic because in order to know for sure who will be in this comic, you would need to be either psychic or Rick Griffin himself and in either case why would you bother commenting??
Well, Karishad is almost certainly involved, since the last time we saw him, Keene was hireing him with some *very* strong hints that the temple (or garden accent, hidden behind a screen of trees, as Mr. Steward said) had something to do with it.
Perhaps we’ll finally find out what Henry wanted with that thing. Seems odd to just randomly import an ancient structure to America…unless you are trying to pull a Xanatos and unleash some ancient curse or something.
maybe but all of those are a little of topic with this next arc, we could possibly se what Kevin looks like now if he changed, but psycon i cant think of a way to put that in or … Well alan could make an appearance but besides the point it would be really hardtop do so.
True, but Rick has done simillar things in the past, like take the seemingly one time joke of Peanut taking a picture of Sabrina and Fido contrasted against Grape’s “We shall never speak of this again”, and have it play a small role in the ending of the “Imagineate Too!” arc.
Tarot: “It says The squeaky voiced one must open the temple. That lets Zach out, his voice isn’t squeaky”
Keene: “Squeaky voice, huh…”
(Gilligan Cut to Alan on the phone)
Alan: “#$#@#@%$%^^^! it I DON’T HAVE A SQUEAKY VOICE!!!!”
Camel: “By the way, I could have told you when we started that the temple had been moved, but I was mad at you for foreclosing on the Orphanage I was rased in”.
Just because they have celluar doesn’t mean the coverage is any good. Honestly, once you get out into the desert you’re lucky to find *roads* let alone cell towers.
But who in there right mind would spend thousands of dollars to put a tower out in the desert miles from the nearest hint of civilization? Cell phones only have a transmission range of 2-3 miles. Sure, the cities and towns and perhaps even villages have decent coverage, but Thomas is somewhere so remote that he needed a camel…
Ordinary cellphones can reach towers almost 50 miles away, under ideal conditions, and on top of a ridge in the desert with basically zero electronic interference is pretty close to ideal conditions.
Cell phones are only big in the area where people actually live. I was looking at a map derived from google earth which highlighted all areas within 10 miles of a road, and was struck by just how little access there was across much of the Sahara. I’m talking areas the size of France without a single road. Even with a very optimistic range of 50 miles, you wouldn’t have a chance; there’s just nothing there.
They didn’t. Cecilia double crossed Thomas too early and Thomas was let go by a very sad Sgt Ralph, getting away with a map to the temple’s former location. Not sure if Cecilia (assuming that’s who Thomas is talking too) just got out of jail, if she was arrested at all.
Cecillia didn’t have to go to jail. She’s the one that called the cops, “stopping” the crime by reporting a burglery in progress. They thanked her for being a good citizen and sent her on her way.
Awesome new arc!
Alt Text: “Come to think of it I don’t know where I am or how I’m getting coverage.”
satellite phone duh
so is he looking for the other temple or the first one in the miltons back yard
those are both the same temple, Milton just had it plonked in his backyard.
And according to Rick´s twitter, this one is going to be a “big story arc”
Oh boy. I’ve been looking forward to another massive plot arc.
Agreed…the one-offs are a nice rest, but its good to get back into something that “really matters” as it were.
Hey, Peanut getting stuck in a time paradox matters!
King’s life may be in jeopardy maybe?
Its good to see a whole new adventure! :3
All the comics really matter. They may not focus on a story you find particularly compelling, but that diminishes them not at all.
If you make a wrong word choice youre gona have a bad time.
Oh, Thanks for the alt text!
Why did I just get a flash of King brandishing a sword…
With Dragon standing behind him?
A panorama of the whole “good guy” cast, from Zach up to Miles, including Spo and Squeak at their feet weilding sharpened safety-pins.
Heeeeya! This is great!
I can’t figure out which of the generic video games this arc name is referencing…
I thought it was a parody of the movie title “Wedding Crashers”
Castle Crashers
i thought that this would be an Indiana Jones Reference
Tomb raider?
Well this is going to be good and we know exactly where the temples were from. And likely where Tarot comes from depending on how the whole Avatar and Followers thing works.
and what I actually mean is depending on how and when Dragon picked her as an Avatar.
Got the feeling Thomas will inmedeately leave africa, now that he found out the temple is in another continent.
I think this story arc will be about the whole “phisically equalize all beings” plan Keene has going on.
Wonder if it will turn all animals into humans or all humans into animals…
Or everyone into human/animal hybreds…
but aren’t the animals, well most of the animals already human/animal hybrids?
Good point
Hmm. Id Stick with Furries
Or Housepets Style Furries xD
There’s _two_ temples, hence the title.
Garrison hehs and hears Argent speaking in Patrick Stewarts voice “There….are….TWO…TEMPLES!!!!!”
I was thinking “The One Left Behind” was Thomas.
Looks like Thomas is back.
Dang, it’s been quite a while since Ocean’s Two. Let’s hope the larceny gloves make a comeback.
Larceny? In Arabia? The outcome doesn’t look good form Thomas
*for Thomas
Babylon is in Iraq (ex Mesopotamia), not Arabia. And I’m sure we’re going to have another Thomas vs the Ferrets arc…
Of course, whether Thomas knew this *before* he booked the flight is another matter.
He never said he was going to Babylon
That’s where the temple was.
Wow, you can hear me now!
I have this feeling telling me we´re gonna have Pete in this arc …
And likely Dragon as well since this seems like it will involve the temples they were in. Hopefully if there are other player to the U&U game (and Pete wasn’t just talking about the followers or Avatars like Tarot and Sabrina ect.) we will learn about them as well.
I hope Peanut is somehow dragged into all this..
Its possible but I doubt it this is most likely going to be a Keene (and maybe the other Ferrets as well) and maybe Karishad focused Arc with King likely being involved as well.
Peanut might be involved through his strengthening bond with Tarot.
Again possible but I think its a bit to early to say who will all be involved.
Id like to see another arc involving Kitsune. He showed up like Arnold Swartz. in Expendibles 2. A Briefe Time
Perhaps we’ll finally find out what Henry wanted with that thing. Seems odd to just randomly import an ancient structure to America…unless you are trying to pull a Xanatos and unleash some ancient curse or something.
Whatever it was Henry Milton wanted, it was some line of BS dreamed up by Pete while he was stuck in the temple.
I can’t wait until Keene and the rest of the Ferrets find out about that. Its going to be fun watching a bunch of angry Ferrets going after Pete.
But… gryphons don’t wear socks!
you could give him some of yours!
Forget “Ocean’s Two” Rick? … Surely you Beau Geste!
Karishad was doing research on that temple. Perhaps he’ll show up in this arc…likely with a large explosion in tow.
Eh, I just kind of gave up on trying to goad you into continuing the story sooner than later!
Will be fun to see what Karishad’s been up to for Keene. Also, Daryl is looking exactly as buff as he always has (even more exactly as usual).
I had the suspicion the three-part “one-offs” were foreshadowing a new story arc!
It would be interesting if Itsuki’s exam, PsyCon, Alan and the Groundsquirrels and Kevin’s physical play a part in the upcoming arc somehow.
maybe but all of those are a little of topic with this next arc, we could possibly se what Kevin looks like now if he changed, but psycon i cant think of a way to put that in or … Well alan could make an appearance but besides the point it would be really hardtop do so.
True, but Rick has done simillar things in the past, like take the seemingly one time joke of Peanut taking a picture of Sabrina and Fido contrasted against Grape’s “We shall never speak of this again”, and have it play a small role in the ending of the “Imagineate Too!” arc.
true i would actually like to see him pull this off
Tarot: “It says The squeaky voiced one must open the temple. That lets Zach out, his voice isn’t squeaky”
Keene: “Squeaky voice, huh…”
(Gilligan Cut to Alan on the phone)
Alan: “#$#@#@%$%^^^! it I DON’T HAVE A SQUEAKY VOICE!!!!”
*temple door opens in background*
Keene: thanks Alan!
*hangs up*
Camel: “By the way, I could have told you when we started that the temple had been moved, but I was mad at you for foreclosing on the Orphanage I was rased in”.
Hahahaha! Good one!
Camels keep their secrets.
BTW, why isn’t there a “camel” tag?
I don’t think Rick has a character named “Joe”, yet
(Not the same as “Joey”)
He has characters named “farm animals” and “what duck”.
that duck over there
That was no duck, that was my chicken!
oh no wonder the rooster attacked me!!
You’re right, also it’s “farm animal” not “farm animals”.
so that’s where the temple came from
It could be another temple
“I’m sorry, Pete, but your power is in another temple!”
so does that mean that Pete still does not have physical ability in the world?
Not until he gets an avatar, if I recall correctly
He was physical in Joel’s jail cell before he created his wouldbe avatar.
That was before Kitsune barred him from doing that until he has one.
oh yea that little detail
Forgot about that.
It _is_ another temple, remember… they each had one. Dragon’s temple is still out there, somewhere nearby.
-insert classic if that falls into the wrong hand the world is doomed motto here-
We actually have a Chinese food restaurant near me called Dragon’s Temple….maybe I should check it out
can you grab me an egg roll please
Ruh roh… I detect a Pete in the near future.
YAY I’ve been wanting to know what happened with that!
I see Thomas has invested in a satellite phone.
Or else he’s gone insane from the heat and is just talking into his wallet.
Hello? I think I’m losing my signal from being in this elevator. I’ll have to call you back.
They have cellular in Iraq. It’s about the only place outside the US using CDMA.
Just because they have celluar doesn’t mean the coverage is any good. Honestly, once you get out into the desert you’re lucky to find *roads* let alone cell towers.
truthfully where would you put a cell tower in the desert
Pretty much anywhere, there’s nobody to complain about zoning!
Seriously, there’s 9 million cellphones in Iraq, and less than a million landlines.
Cell phones are big in third world countries where telephone poles are scarce. I thought people knew that
Cell phones are only big in the area where people actually live.
Wouldnt blowing up abunch of sand dooms work?
sand dooms: when sand just isn’t enough, you add doom
Say whats next? A massive sand storm of doom? lol
Oops feel asleep and forgot to post alt text….
Back on topic; How does the temple effect King? Didn’t like Pete use it for D&D or something?
o_o
If he’s looking for Dragon’s temple, the question is… how will it effect Tarot?
i still love daryl’s hat
Good to see the return of this storyline.
PLOT!!
Yay, new plot-line! Time to put on the larceny gloves!
“larceny gloves”. sounds like something to make in skyrim!
Bethesda should make it so!
well since you can enchant stuff and rename them…*already has Larceny Gloves*
>.> what manner of power is that?
boosts your sneak or pickpocketing maybe?
Pickpocketing, actually BD
But only by, like, 2%…I ran out of my good soul gems when I enchanted them
the race to build the Best Larceny Gloves Begins Now!!!!!!!!!
I was wondering when we would get back to the temple. And when did Ocean’s Two get out of jail?
They didn’t. Cecilia double crossed Thomas too early and Thomas was let go by a very sad Sgt Ralph, getting away with a map to the temple’s former location. Not sure if Cecilia (assuming that’s who Thomas is talking too) just got out of jail, if she was arrested at all.
Cecillia didn’t have to go to jail. She’s the one that called the cops, “stopping” the crime by reporting a burglery in progress. They thanked her for being a good citizen and sent her on her way.
Karishad’s next joke: The beggining of the end
Ooooooh!
*kicks back with popcorn*
THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD
i can’t i have some
*eyes widen in a puppy face*
OF COURSE YOU CAN!
*hands bag of popcorn*
Yes… this is gonna be awesome.
Thanks i can’t wait!!
{pounds on table} say it, SAY it, SAY IT!
Excuse me?
You heard him dude, SAY IT!
The feature film, Larceny in Arabia, coming soon to a theater near you!
That was it, right?
Daryl LITERALLY grew up under a rock? That must have been painful.
i hear that living under a rock causes major neck and back pain.
It saves on rent.
But you spend more time at the Chiropractor.
Cue the flashback!
Don’t entirely get whats happening but it’s still kinda funny!
