Oh FFS people, it’s a brilliant musical that anyone with a decent cultural background should know about. Go to Wikipedia and read the cast list and plot synopsis and you’ll be fine!
As clear as the smoke trail of 1000 fireworks, all fired in close proximity to one another; though the end result should be just as entertaining.
*gets bucket-o-popcorn with extra butter*
Rick Griffin is guilty of introducing me to Shakespear with the ‘Imaginate Macbeth’ arc.
Now I’ll have to wait the end of this arc before I get a DVD of G&D.
*waves fist* RRRIIIICCCK!
I was gonna say too! At first I thought it was just a mixed metaphor, but then.. we’re talking about cats, who do wash each other with their mouths. Hehe.
can’t help but notice a bit of a different style with Peanut’s face, at least with his eyes. i was wondering if this would be a lasting change, but then i remembered King had a sort of similar thing going on in the dog show when he was onstage with Duchess, so now i’m guessing this goes along with the presenting a musical – theatre setting- thingy… (whatever you would call this setting / situation)
It should be “Toms and Queens”, or maybe “Dogs and Charming Young Women”. Or the forest players (from Charles Christopher) could do “Bucks and Vixens”.
And we’re back to my most favorite irony of the whole comic XD
So we have here two of the oracles, beings aware of the metaverse as a whole, with knowledge and abilites that could easily bend reality their way if any of the Gods so wished (and Bahamut was distracted… I’m looking at you Pete!), and how do they spend their remianing life time?
Playing theather!
Culture and scenic arts overrule world-domination plots, and GOOD DAY SIR! *slams suitcase shut*
I think Grape now has a valley girl accent… you know, like totally that cute kind of voice that the like the cutest girls use and junk, anyways Peanut looks so cute in the paper bag, I’m totally texting this to my BFF
“♪How does she knowwwww you love her? How does she knowwwww she’s yoooours?♪”
“You know what? Let’s walk.”
“♪How does she know that you love her?♪”
“Wait a minute, he knows the song too?”
All the guys are gamblers. All the ladies want the guys to stop gambling. Supporting male needs a place to stage a game, involves male lead in a bet to get it, relating to female lead, who needs to fill her local chapter house with repentant sinners or it will be shut down. She dates male lead in return for a full house of sinners, male support uses the chapter house for the game, the leads fall for each other, return to discover the game. Misunderstandings occur. Male lead goes to the game to fulfill his part of the deal and get back into her good graces. He bets everyone at the game: he wins, they go to the mission, they win, he’ll pay them $1,000.00 dollars each. The dice are rolled. Intermission. All the gamblers arrive at the chapter house, having lost their bet. Mission gets saved. Police arrive, Male Lead confesses all to clear female lead (gambling bring illegal, and penalties can be applied to the person who owns the building used for such purposes). Female lead forgives male lead. Epiloge: Leads are married, male support has gone straight, will shortly be married.
Not touched on – subplot: male support’s very awkward love life.
This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
That looks fun
For the actors? For the characters? or for the audience?
For everyone! Everything is equal when it comes to having fun!
alt text (And that’s the reason it’s so hard to make fun of musical theater, because they kind of know already how silly it is)
Count me in!
I plan to be greatly amused by this arc.
(Also, Peanut is still super-adorable.)
finally we are back to a peanut and grape style arc
Well come on when isn’t peanut adorable?
Peanut is the pinnacle of adorable. He’s can manage it without even trying.
yes he is
you are absolutely right munchy
I plan for this arc to be a filler comic. XD
Uh… what?
o_O
nothing makes sense anymore :/
Peanut and Grape make perfect sense.
Always
what kind of illegal activities?
Shouldn’t that be a “carp” game?
There’s something fishy about that.
Not unless they were playing craps.
We’ll just have to see what Rick can fish up for this one.
I have no idea what is going on.
Parody
Obviously. I mean I know nothing of this play and therefore don’t (and won’t) know what is happening.
Don’t feel bad I am also lost in this.
parody of what?
parody of the namesake 1955 musical
Oh FFS people, it’s a brilliant musical that anyone with a decent cultural background should know about. Go to Wikipedia and read the cast list and plot synopsis and you’ll be fine!
Atleat im not the only one
Don’t worry, Rick will make it all clear momentarily.
As clear as the smoke trail of 1000 fireworks, all fired in close proximity to one another; though the end result should be just as entertaining.
*gets bucket-o-popcorn with extra butter*
Oh man I’ve seen this play. Let us be amused…
AWW YEAH ANOTHER IMAGINATE ARC!
Do they actually have audiences or do they just imaginate them?
Either:
A) the pet parents;
B) for these they are at least simi-aware of the 4th wall, that means us;
C) friends not shown or;
D) all of the above.
D) all of the above.
you forgot
E)The celestial spirits (the universe is watching)
I’d totally choose that option. xD
Eye predict a lack of I’s in the near future. Wait…
ITS PUNNY
*Wishes they were wearing real hats*
never seen the play, but just the name of it alone is higly amusing. i shall not spoil myself and read the details until after the arc is over =3
Rick Griffin is guilty of introducing me to Shakespear with the ‘Imaginate Macbeth’ arc.

*waves fist* RRRIIIICCCK!
‘Do you wash your mother with that mouth?’
Best joke of the strip!
I didn’t even notice that until you mentioned it.
Observation level: mole.
I was gonna say too! At first I thought it was just a mixed metaphor, but then.. we’re talking about cats, who do wash each other with their mouths. Hehe.
They wash ferrets too!

peanut’s cuter than usual XD
Peanut is DIVINELY cute in the first panel
I can’t be more agree with you
Ohhh yeah
Isn’t he always?
Touché
Never seen that. Still, this is already sounding like a funny arc.
Huzzah! More Imaginate!
wow! i want to sing about illegal activitiez! i hope fido aint around
mmmmmmmm … another play that I´ve never seen/read
At least they teach Macbeth in schools. If Guys and Dolls isn’t on Netflix this is going to go right over my head…
yeeeeaaaaahh……. I didnt read Macbeth in school soooooo ….
Lol, neither did I…
But they played the movie! :3
This is why I never wanted to see this play. That and I thought the title was…creepy.
It should be “Toms and Queens”, or maybe “Dogs and Charming Young Women”. Or the forest players (from Charles Christopher) could do “Bucks and Vixens”.
Actually none of those make it sound better…
Dudes and Dudettes? Or is that bogus?
Totally, man.
Mmm, apparently tarot still doesn’t trust Grape to the psycholodeck thing…
Humans think anything they do is cute!
…unless it results in a flooded living room
Imaginate Spot turning up in Guys and Dolls.
What do the humans make of their behavior?
Hmm, I wonder why max isn’t there
Maybe he’s playing a character not yet seen?
He’s definitely going to be playing Sky
I concur.
Who’s going to be the mission chick?
Heh… ‘Do you wash your mother with that mouth?’ Feline culture for the win.
This is adorable I love the little paper bag hats
Yay! An Imaginate arc!
Had Sabrina in the last panel her Arc lost?
welp. the musical fan in me laughed long and hard at the last panel.
but oh, how i love guys & dolls.
Ah, more theater! Yay! Also, I want to sing about illegal activities too. That sounds like a ton of fun.
Then I’m throwing dice in the alley,
Officer Leeroy comes up and he’s like
“Hey, I thought I told you…”
And I’m like “YEAH WHATEVER!”
*guitar solo*
cause this is my united states of whatever!
Never seen Guys and Dolls. Pity this wasn’t about The Threepenny Opera instead. Maxwell would have been great as McHeath, a.k.a. Mack the Knife.
Since no one has already:
Alt-Text for iPhone readers: “And that’s the reason it’s so difficult to make fun of musical theater, because they kinda already know how silly it is”
Alt text? (phone)
PB&J Theater Company… love it.
so that means there playing with dice then?
cause she said not to.
or maby there playing with mice cause they heard her wrong and spo finally is in another arc
And we’re back to my most favorite irony of the whole comic XD

I almost died at the last panel.
LOLZ do u wash your mother with that mouth? XDDDD nice one XD
That sums up most musicals nicely.
Not to mention all bystanders will spontaneously break into song with you as well as immediately learn perfect choreography.
“♪How does she knowwwww you love her? How does she knowwwww she’s yoooours?♪”
“You know what? Let’s walk.”
“♪How does she know that you love her?♪”
“Wait a minute, he knows the song too?”
I have got to rent that movie at some point.
Best scene in the movie.
Peanut looks adorable in that first panel… and I have absolutely no idea what Guys and Dolls is about.
It’s about singing loudly about your illegal activities!
Also where Timon and Pumbaa’s voice actors learned to play off each other so well.
Okay, quicky plot shot:

i see they have included Sabrina in there pretending fun
Sabrina was in the last imaginate arc too.
Awww, so cute 1st panel ^_^
I wonder who will play Joey Biltmore? Not a huge part, but I played it my junior year of highschool.
rock on! i love this stuff.http://www.celularesdesbloqueados.net
I can die happy now.
