That wasn’t a cliffhanger. That was the best way to solve the problem, by ignoring it. Also, this comic has a love of slamming doors. This isn’t a bad thing.

They really should have a ‘Door Slamming’ tag, just because of how often doors get slammed in the comic. And yeah, be glad Doors aren’t sentient. That would be weird.

Considering she wouldn’t help him during the whole Duchess incident yeah this is more for Dragon’s sake then it is for Kings. Plus there is the fact that no matter how much of a jerk Pete is he isn’t actually any kind of danger.
I think that King can’t be put in physical danger, but that doesn’t mean that Pete can’t emotionally damage King by destroying relationships or something.

Why do I get the feeling Pete will hurt or try to hurt Bailey to get to King.
He would probably be in deep doo-doo if he directly interfered with a mortal in that fashion.
I don’t think he’d hurt anyone, but he probably wouldn’t have any problem pretending to be Bailey on the phone breaking up with King in order to send him into a sneaky hate spiral.
Or just let Fox and Bailey know that King used to be Joel.

It’s funny cause King had the entire thing explained to him already concerning the game those gods play. Since Pete can’t interfere with the lives of those close to King directly it’s most likely just going to be King in a series of nonchalant gags. Can’t tell for sure though.
He finally gets used to this. It’s a good start…in a way.

There’s a very high probability that the advice would be more beneficial to Dragon than to King. I’m sure Pete wouldn’t actually tell Dragon what he’s planning on doing so any “dire peril” is more Dragon/Tarot being ridiculously overdramatic than anything concrete.
Pete could be bluffing, just to make king live in fear that something bad will happen, when in reality, nothing will actually occur.
The fear part doesn’t seem to be working well though :3

What happens if Pete is counting on that spirit dragon trying to alert king at any costs, thus ruining any chance King has at peace in the process while he searches for a new avatar? Technically it’s what I would do if I took note of my adversary’s nature to try and subvert my plans at winning.

Well, technically it can fit into a book, though the font type will be very small, in German and will contain from 25,000,000 pages for the basic version to around 300,000,000 pages for the standard version, the expert version is infinite

I am thinking perhaps by letting Dragon try to get though to King, she will end up being the source of his discontent. Pete will simply step in and help King use the power of that discontent to solve both of their problems at once.
Perhaps King can get in the middle and drive both gamers nuts. Maybe get them both turned mortal. He literally has his soul in his paws; I wonder if he can somehow elevate himself to the level of the gamers. Maybe drop it into a pool of mana? Even if Karishad has green eyes because he is connected to the dragon, he might be enough of a loose canon to really complicate things for everyone. I am just thinking out loud.

I am driven by sehlat curiosity. I would have carefully listened to what Tarot had to say. If what she had to say simply sounded like it was part of the game, I would have laughed and then slammed the door.
