It’s not what he said, it’s how Grape interpreted it.
Res meant that she was curious about dogs.
Grape on the other hand thinks he talking about her feelings towards dogs.
True. And poor Res also has such a sheltered life that he wouldn’t realize that it’s “wrong” even if he meant it that way.

At least Res wasn’t here when she did certain hilariously inappropriate things while using Tarot’s HoloMind (not hollow).
There’s probably more or less truth in it, since she took it that way. If she didn’t have any those kind of feelings she could have just shrugged it off.

I would agree with you if she had not run into her room crying about it. If she would have snapped out a No at him instead or just blushed and explained that it wasn’t true I could see that. But really I guess either is possible right now.
Considering how much she loves the Prideland series, She’s trying to make everything perfect in Res’s eyes to the kind of person she is. Saying she hung around dogs when she was young is not putting a good impression on herself. But that’s Grape’s opinion.
He stated in the last panel that he doesn’t care (and finds it cute) so again her reaction is strange. Add on to that her willingness to hang out with dogs only even though Max lived right next door and the fact that she had no real reason for it. It adds up to possible denial on her part IMO.
Let me put it this way:
This is like Grape telling Res since day one she liked Ponies because it’s what girls liked. However, Peanut tells Res that she liked to play Dungeons and Dragons with other guys

I think it may be mpre a matter of Grape telling herself she’s not into dogs, but secretly being worried that this isn’t true, and that terrifies her.
Ok I kind of get what your getting at (but I don’t agree that your right). Except that your analogy doesn’t really work. As she still is willing to hang out with dogs (a.k.a play dungeons and dragons in your analogy) even after she started hanging out with more cats. So the analogy is really really weak.
And it ignores the fact that she had no really good reason to do so as said to the barn cats, and the fact that Max lived next door and she didn’t hang out with him that much (if at all) until the Yarnball. Really right now either one of us could be right in this case anyway so we will have to wait and find out.
I mean “into dogs” in more of the “dog-lover” way. She’s afraid that she’s actually *attracted* to dogs.

Honestly… for Grape, I do hope for the Peanut x Grape pairing. But to me… the ship I wish that would stay is the Peanut x Tarot. I know that’s not likely due to direction of story, but I love that relationship.

Peanut for hijacking Grape’s special time, even though it was totally unintentionally and good manners to keep company to the guest. Meh, it’s just Grape irrationally making a big deal out of nothing, we’ve seen that before.
Not often have we seen Grape so embarrassed she loses the blue from her fur, although it is becoming more common

Incorrect in that each of the alt texts posted differs from the actual comic’s alt text in one way or another. It’s ironic that each one independently made mistakes in their transcription.

I think this is the most assertive Res has been, I think before if Grape came in and flipped Peanut he would just sit there awkwardly looking around the room.
So THAT’S what grape has been writing about in her fan fiction! And I do believe we’ve never seen Grape blush this badly before!
Maybe second hardest, there was the time when Peanut brings up the Pridelands events with Tarot, and everybody seeing Grape doing something.
But i don’t think we actually saw her blush though. And besides i think, at least in the houspets animal world, it’d be more embarrassing for someone to know that you are interested in another species. Just like with Fido and Spo, although that’s just a friendship.

This is true, but it also means that Res has become more comfortable being around Grape and Peanut, he just needed a little bit of time to adjust.

Actually its not a song about remembering but actually trying to forget a lost love. It could mean something or it could just be referring to her blushing or both. Or even nothing at all and Rick just happen to like the title.

Yep, I think Res actually cannot physically yell. I think his voice is set a different volume level compared to most. Which means he can possibly say things even dogs, can’t hear.

I don’t think that’s yelling. I think it’s just him raising his voice a bit and putting a bit more force behind it.
Res’s yell is the equivalent to a normal voice :3
It *is* innate – he’s innately shy, and just look what happens every time he comes out of his box – it’s always a major embarrassment.

I was pointing that out because on the 2nd panel she appears to have her regular height and she seems to shrink on the 3rd… perhaps blushing side-effects…? xD

I think i figured it out, her ears kind of go down, makeing her look shorter, so yes, it was a because she was blushing (or embarassed)
I think Grape’s younger/smaller look in the 3rd panel is due to her body’s skewed proportions…

Grape has had this kind of reaction before, i wouldnt think it has anything to do with her feelings towards dogs. I agree with someone earlier that she wants everything to be perfect but now it isnt.
What i’m curious about is why she called it their “Special Time”
I think its a mixture of both. I mean she obviously likes dogs (to the point of love is unclear), but she probably doesn’t like other cats (especially her idol of sorts) to find that out. And how ruined would your day be if your idol said you liked the other team? Res is just confused and doesn’t even realize that its socially unacceptable. And Peanut was just being a good host :3 .
Wait, i’m not clear on one thing. Is Grape or Res saying this in the alt text? I’m pretty sure it’s Grape, but Res tends to speak in allcaps (if you know what i mean) when he’s upset.

Is this the first time we see grape doing anything to peanut? I know that there are some comics that imply grape might hurt peanut after the strip, but this is the only one that we see it in the strip?
Well she wrestled him to get to the door in this arc, and she threw that sign at him in the Macbeth play.
In Macbeth peanut did not seem to get hurt (and lets face it, would a sign like that really hurt?), and in the begining of this strip she was just holding him down, but this time she really let him have some, i’m supprized that he is standing up in the last pannel
