I don’t think he was a puppy. He’s completed his training and been accepted into the police force, so he must be older
But the tag does say puppy Fido, so I think this is before he even went to the academy. I’m just shocked that he was almost as tall as Ralph back then.

perhaps he was almost mature (remember he was introduced when he returned from the Academy?)

I had always gotten the feeling that Fido actually needed his glasses (which look different than the visors all the other officers have) while the other police dogs had sunglasses for normal reasons.
The normal reasons being “looking cool”.
And driving to Chicago.

Same here I didn’t think he would be that much older then anyone else in the strip. Maybe like a year or two but I’d argue that he might be at least 3 maybe 4 years older then everyone else.
Yeah it does actually make sense. I suppose I compare them too much to humans in this series.

For people saying Fido looks big as a puppy in this comic, he doesn’t.
In this comic he’s “Real time” Peanut age.
Then he wouldn’t be tagged as Puppy Fido (just like Ralph isn’t tagged as Puppy Ralph) as Peanut is not a puppy in the present.
If he’s one year older than everyone else he’s still probably considered a puppy, just an older one.
Now I really want to see Puppy Ralph. Sheps are so cute and silly when their ears aren’t standing up yet.
Purely coincidental. I have a 5.5 month old Border Collie who’s named Joey. He barks at strangers and is wary of them, but wants to be friendly.

Fido is adorable in his glasses. The expression in the first panel is so adorable, it reminds me of the first time I tried doing public speaking. Trying to look serious but coming across a bit nervous (see the paws). I’m glad I’m not the only one xD

yep, and that’s correct. But Ralph here is still just an officer. On a couple of years he’ll be promoted to sergeant.
Fido is still a Pup, soon to join the academy; Kevin is still playing tackle with other puppies. And Spo’s mother is probably giving birth to Huv, Huw and Hux.
But Fido calls him Kevin, is that a mistake on Rick’s or Fido’s part?

So, how old IS Ralph?
Assuming Peanut is leaning on the 3 YO, Id’say Ralph is on his way to 5. It should be a safe age to be trained to hold a token position to give lectures.
Ergo, Joey has an advanced vocabulary for a pup.

You know, Grape walked into a Good ol dogs club meeting in the last comic, mabye this is that meeting…….
It would almost have to be, because it’s the same arc so it’s still Peanut’s flashback.
How would he know what Grape did that day? Does this mean that Peanut in the club at this point? I mean, the hole reason that Grape was adopted in the first place was so Peanut would have someone to play with, but that suggests that he dosent have too many friends outside of the house, so then he woulden’t be in the club.
Grape most likely told Peanut about what happened if he wasn’t there.
No peanut at this time is part of the club it wasn’t untill the Cat tail drawing that he was kicked out
Oh I’m sorry I didn’t mean to imply he wasn’t, I was just saying that even if for some reason he wasn’t in the club Grape might have just told him about what happened. I’m sure hes been in the club since it started.
But thats my point, if he was in the club from the start, why would Grape have been adopted (read my 2ed comment)
Just because he goes to the club doesn’t mean he hangs out with them outside of it. I mean Grape lived next to Max since she was adopted and they clearly never hung out with each other until The Yarnball arc.
And for all we know this is the second meeting of the Good Ol’ Dogs Club.
And besides does it really matter why Peanut needed Grape, let’s just be happy that we got her now,

Other characters missing: Terrance, Res, Itsuki, Boris and Yeltsin, and a whole bunch of wolves. Also, I think that Thomas and Celia Milton likely deserve a mention in the human cast section.
