Mildly…. And definitely not if they’ve gotten into whatever my dog Styx got into when he was a puppy. The vet had a hard time staying around him during that one and vets typically have very strong constitutions.

I just hope that Grape isn’t Rose, cause that would just be sad. Though I think Spirit Dragon would do great as Theresa, and Pete might be a good Reaver.
I think King would fit Reaver better, at the end of the game Reaver helps out the heroes, Pete would be Lucien or the commandant
(but considering everybody’s personalities the entire story could play out differently)
To fill out the cast I could see Fox as Garth, and Sabrina as Hannah since Grape seems to be Rose.
Fiddler and Keys could have a cameo as the minstrels who sing about Peanut
Also if it were to adhere to the story I’m guessing Peanut wouldn’t spare a moment to revive Grape at the end.
Grape: And finally, maybe I’ll be getting some good sleep…

Hmm… I wonder who sleeps in the other bunk at the moment, if anyone. Maybe Max! It would be ironic if Grape had met Max before she ever met Peanut, even if she didn’t remember. Would also be interesting if she were the one that bit his ear…
This was not that long ago in her life maybe 2 years at most, there’s almost no way that Grape wouldn’t remember Max if he had stayed with her in the shelter. Its most likely just a random cat we will never see or she is alone in there.
If she was only there a day or two, she might simply have never been introduced to the other cat, and thus didn’t form any interesting memories in the first place. Would you recognize the stranger that sat next to you on an airplane flight?
Its more likely that she is alone in there or with a random other cat. And sitting next to someone on an airplane is not anywhere near the same as being in the same Shelter Cage with some one for a day or two.

I had scrambled eggs with onions and ham for breakfast, but I looked at this strip and it felt like I was eating a bowl of sugar with chocolate chips and caramel syrup.

I could imagine Peanut’s personality irking people.
But he’s just a puppy! Most dogs tend to instinctively love a puppy even if it’s not theirs. Maybe they’re in bad moods because they’re pound dogs, couldn’t blame them for that. Or he really was a psycho little ball of fluff before he grew up.
Peanut’s pretty much the only dog I’d want to have as a pet if Housepets! were real. I’ve always felt that Peanut is the most “dog” dog in the strip, all the other ones tend to be too serious or nutty (or both!), except maybe Fox.
…or they just sensed the cat-lover in him.
My dog tried to nurse our few-week-old kitten as though it were her own at one point.. Just saying.
That is just too cute.

I have to totally agree with you I mean I love king but if he was pet I might just kill him he’s to little and weak to have a proactive owner like me and he can be REALLY annoying but fox and peanut are tough dogs and very playfull not to mention how adorable fox looks as well as peanut
Well it is dissapointing and a little strange that NONE of the dogs at the pound liked him, but don’t forget Peanut had only just moved into the neighborhood, and has many friends in Babylon Gardens at present day.
But it could only be destiny that on this day at the pound those years ago, our beloved Peanut Butter Puppy would find a new sibling in a little purple kitten – the beginnings of a friendship that would last a lifetime, and possibly even longer…
And from that day forth Grape never had an uninterrupted nap again…
Oh well, that’s still cute/slightly creepy.

How did Mrs. Sandwich not notice that there was no longer a puppy at the other end of the leash? I’d think that the collar being pulled on by gravity would be rather more noticeable than just the leash suspended between her hand and Peanut’s neck.

Grape seems to be a bit older here than her visit to the “Eldritch Vet”.
She might actually be, if the vet examined her when she was admitted to he shelter rather than when she left. You can interpret the dialogue from the vet arc either way.
