As it is, I’d really like to know more about Jack and Deadeye, Jack especially. He was what first caught my eye on the page. Also, what’s Karishad doing in the wolf pen? Wait, it’s Karishad, we don’t want an answer to that question.

Actualy (as ironic as this sounds) I think the two staring at each over might be more closely related to Beauty and the Beast, one being ‘wild’ and the other being in captivity.
And there are 15 in Miles’ family? Heh I guess it’ll be fun to figure out who is who in this arc, but since I’m REALLY bad in these things I’ll just enjoy the fun character designs.

It’s certainly unusual, but I bet there are sleeved ponchos somewhere in South America.
I first thought Deadeye was Poncho, ‘cos of his serape.
It doesn’t have sleeves as such, that’s just sort of how it came out
On another subject, today we were at Old Navy, and they had these things called “wrap sweaters” … which if you wear them right look like a Mexican-style poncho (serape) with sleeves.
Been wondering if they’d visit the wolf pen. Of course they would, this is HousePets, awesome stuff always happens.

“flipping the bird” is a euphemism for giving someone “the finger” (middle finger), AKA “one-finger salute” (among other euphemisms, none of which are appropriate for discussion here).
That said, no he’s not. Karishad has his index finger extended. Whether it’s in the “wait a minute” gesture or something else will probably be cleared up in Monday’s strip.

not to mention the fact that the animals in the HP! universe have only 4 fingers (including the thumb” and therefore do not technically have a middle finger.
But for four-digit hands/paws it really [i]is[/i] the middle finger… if you figure the thumb is counted as “thumb”, not “finger”.

Hmm, so is Miles the alpha or just the smart one who wanted to live with people? The two other males from his pack here look tougher than him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It’s a little more obvious now why Lucretia wanted to live in civilization and not have to worry about her cubs being hurt or eaten or catching rabies.
I still wonder how these animals wound up as zoo animals, it’s clear that they’re not trapped against their will but are they injured rescues or did they ask to live there? Those two pups (well, younger wolves at least) are adorable checking each other out. Also Karishad is up to no good again, but he’s just so cute!
Given that the zoo animals even get vacations*… they might be rescues, or they might simply be volunteers like Miles and Lucretia.

Miles is the alpha, I believe. While these two do look tougher than him, they are also injured and therefore seen as less fit to lead the pack. the other options for Alpha are the two Daryls and cousin Rodney, who seem about equal in toughness to Miles, so other factors come into play.
The alpha-beta system of pack hierarchy is an outdated model; I don’t use it as such

I’m guessing the wolfs we see in the pen now are the same ones we seen way back in good old black and white? the dark furred one seems familiar to me.
I think his muzzle “flash” mark counts as a mustache.
Why is it that there’s no direct way to tell when a character is male or female, but the females are so incredibly adorable?

That’s how you can tell them apart! The females are adorable and have those long eyelashes, while the males are……well, now that i think about it, you really can’t unless it’s stated that they are in fact a boy or girl. When i saw Cerberus for the first time, i thought she was a guy simply because she was so buff! And she didn’t have long eyelashes either… o.o
They do seem to have eyelashes usually… maybe that’s why they’re so cute?

Looks like Poncho is getting some backstory!
This strip is cool but it confuses me a little what with that one wolf missing the arm; if an appendage such as an arm or leg was to be removed wouldn’t there be a stub left behind and not just a large “X” shaped scar. Also, I think if your arm is cut or torn off to the piont were you wouldn’t have stub there’d be know way of stopping the bleeding and you would most likely die.
Course I’ll always be the 1st to say I could be wrong.
There’s several kinds of amputation, arms can be amputated all the way up to the shoulder.

Also, how do you all know all their names? I may have only just recently discovered this comic, but I have read every strip posted & the only actual wolf’s name they mention, besides Miles & his wife, is Daryles.

I’ll try and answer this but even i’m not sure. “Four finger discount” Jack is pretty obvious, Uncle Deadeye should be the one with the stick since he’s got that thousand mile stare going on, Elaine i believe will be the small one next to him and is probably his daughter and i only think this because she and him together give off a Pocahontas vibe and Natalie just doesnt sit right, Natalie could be the one with piercings because she looks like a Natalie to me, and Poncho sounds like the name of a young naive kid so it’s got be the one sniffing the zoo wolf. Wolves are just the name of the other two wolves and Karishad is the Fox

ahh dont worry bout that, all in all your still right catarax makes dogs blind, so i got to give ou that one its all about the irony in this sketch such as four finger disount jack, he has no arm and deadeye, he has catarax and poncho just has a poncho and the wolf on the far right is saying that ths zoo isnt for wild animals even though wilda animals are IN it, so yeap you jsut have to put science and iron y in to play in this one and you will see it…
