    Oh you peanut lol!

    • rtlstien

But now this has brought up the image of wondering what Peanut’s parents look like

      • Elwood Blutarsky

Like him but older? I dunno, we’re never going to see them as he sees Mr. and Mrs.Sandwich justifably as his parents.

        • Frank

          Ah, yes. Those pesky laws

      • Lyooon

I’d be very interested to see the birth parents of Peanut and Grape

    • silverfang16

I can’t even believe how many times he has broken character in this play. Aw well, he is cute enough to get away with it!

      • SilverZeo

Well, he is the one who wrote… afterall, he must be the only one who actually read the story rather than whatever they have on TV… and when you consider how he writes Spot.: The SuperDog…

  2. Dissension

    Max has a point, Peanut.

    • Frank

I think Peanut’s been reading the comments

    • darkgloomie

      Tell that to Shakespeare then.

Though, to be honest, Tolkien too thought this was a cop-out, so we aren’t alone in thinking this.

  3. TheCrimsonFox

IT’s not breaking character if it’s true! =D (makes perfect sense to me!)

    • Sansash

Right because all acting is lying unless what the actor says is true
…Unless you consider that these are all fictitious characters and everything is a lie

      • Critter Rhode

Well if everthing is a lie. Then a lielie would be the truth. So, The cake is a truth.

  4. kimo

    good question Maxwell, good question…

  5. Frank

Does this mean Grape gets to be another character? Or that she’ll have to lie on the stage for the rest of the scene?

    • Jinxed

I think Grape may just be laying off stage for the rest of the scene.

      • Frank

Aw, we won’t be seeing her anymore then.

At least not until this arc is over

    • silverfang16

      She went to nap. :3

  6. Firewolf

    Roleplay, so complicated XP

  7. anon_omis

Max is having a bad day

  8. SomeRandomGeekNamedBrent

so who else was from their mother’s womb untimely ripped?
    *raises his hand*

    • anon_omis

And the number of people who know what that means?… (for the record I do Kbps what of means)

      • anon_omis

        Know* stupid iPhone

    • darkgloomie

I think I was- because I just wouldn’t get out on my own.

      Would you blame me?

    • Frank

      *nervously raises finger*

Though I think nearly half the population of developed countries is, so I’m not sure it’s such a good idea to ask

      • SomeRandomGeekNamedBrent

well look at how few answers I’ve gotten.

        • Frank

They’re probably being wary of the mods

          • SomeRandomGeekNamedBrent

but it’s a fully on topic question. if a mod calls them out, Rick may well step in again and call the mods out. or not. who knows?

    • Hera Ledro

*raises hand* And the stupid intern broke my bleeding leg while doing it >_> Now I have to walk around with a leg that’s a centimeter shorter than the other, which has surprisingly painful consequences.

  9. anon_omis

So how many lives is grape down to?

    • Elwood Blutarsky

Seven…don’t ask how she lost the other one.

    • Frank

That depends. Are we counting her youth encounter with the vet as being scared to death?

      • anon_omis

As well as the one that this comic actually covered. She got scared to death when the vet used that big face needle

  10. Grip the wolf

Staying in character is boring! Improv is where the real fun is!

  11. Argent Stonecutter

OK, I totally called this one!

  12. IceKitsune

lol Peanuts finally stopped taking the role plays so seriously (yay character development)

    • Sansash

Come on, character development is overrated.

*dodges flying screwball sign* kidding! kidding!

  13. Vladimir Zharkov

    “King, your wife is dead.”
    “oh… sucks”

    • SilverZeo

“Wait… that makes me the MAN again… Oh crud, I’ve do all the rough stuff!”

      • Frank

        Like washing dishes!

        • FlynnDawg

          And cleaning my room!

          • rallyjr

            and removing blood stains

          • Grip the wolf

Your avatar goes perfectly with that, rallyjr.

  14. rallyjr

if fate was a person he would be a lawyer

  15. SilverZeo

Simple Max: To be born you have to be born through the define means of being born, I guess a C-Section doesn’t count as it pulled out rather then pushed out, as what “born” means…

    • Frank

I never did get what was it with Shakespere and C-sections

      • icarus

he was probably facinated by them. considering the medical standards and technology of his day, it’s a bit befuddling that they didn’t kill EVERYONE INVOLVED in a c-section.

        • Rick Griffin

Well, given that, in necessary cases, the options pre-sanitation usually ended up with the mother AND child dead anyway, I’m sure plenty of midwives and doctors had lots of trail-and-error practice at it.

          • Frank

I… definitely hadn’t thought of that

  16. gaboris

*Thunmp*… HAH! Man I had such a laugh. XD

BTW THIS one part with “No women born” is what I remember by myself… it’s actually a real clever idea from that time. :D

  17. Draven

    What happened to Sabrina?

  18. icarus

i adore it when people get all confused about the “no man of woman born” thing. they try to argue a c-section is technically still birthed from a woman. i have to remind them that this was written in a time much more ignorant than the present, where the common folk had no idea what a c-section was other than “not the normal form of birth.”

    • Rick Griffin

I don’t think ignorance has anything to do with it. Definitions of words are based on common usage, and since c-sections were rare, they just happened to be ambiguous as to whether they were included in the definition. That we include them now is also arbitrary: speakers could have easily decided that it was NOT the same and used a whole other word for it.

      • Dissension

        Born of blade, bladeborn, cut.

        • SomeRandomGeekNamedBrent

          I like bladeborn. sounds awesome.

  19. T-Squared

*Cue the Jaws theme playing in the background, for Macbeth*

*sing song* Your time is uuup!

  20. WingedWolfGirl

    Thump?
    *shrugs*
I suppose a blood curdling scream would have scared the audience.

  21. GameCobra

I can’t remember where i saw them, but i’m sure they are hand-held hangars. you hang them on the ring as you carry them.

Also, Peanut and Grape used these before!

    http://www.housepetscomic.com/2008/06/13/it-always-comes-to-an-end/

  22. Tommyrazor

Ahh Peanut, if only this world was real. I’d visit and ask to be a part of their games ^_^ Just curious, would anyone else join me?

  23. Marrock

Good gods, how long is this going to take to finsih?

It just gets less and less funny as time passes till it’s like having your gums scraped.

    • darkgloomie

If you were to know macbeth at least a little, or even heard of it, you’d know it ends with his death after this duel.

I’d say 2 strips on the safe side (Macbeth’s death, wrapup), 3 for anything else Rick could think out.

*I* thought it was funny, but I’m not trying to force you to agree with me. In the end, Rick is the boss. If he wanted he could just end it today. By taking off all the webcomic, and we wouldn’t be in any position to say anything, so I’ll take what I get and be glad for it k?

    • Foxstar

Don’t like the arc, don’t read it. Wait a few weeks, it ends and on to a new one.
The complaints dept is ———> way.

    • FlynnDawg

Quick question. Are you comparing Housepets! comedy to that of getting your gums scraped? You must REALLY hate having to read all these…

    • Frank

I’ve never read Macbeth, but I do know that if the play’s namesake is about to get killed, the play must be about to finish

  24. Sansash

    Broom to your face!

  25. Draven

    3… 2… 1…. FIGHT!!

    • Tensa Zangetsu

      PEANUT. FLAWLESS VICTORY!

      • Tommyrazor

        Agreed there. :3

      • SomeRandomGeekNamedBrent

did he use an animality? or maybe a friendship?

        • Frank

          Nah. Just “video game skills”

      • Hera Ledro

        Now do it again!

  26. xhunterko

    With broomsticks!

  27. microbuss

hmm that’d be a intersting comic, Rick
    Seeing Peanut’s & Grape’s mom & dad XD

  28. evinAR

Is Rick going to forget how to draw eyes after this arc? O.o hopefully not!

    • Frank

Or, maybe he’s preparing to make some epic change to how he draws them!

  29. Grip the wolf

Peanut has a broom that he will fight with? Grape would be proud!

    • Tensa Zangetsu

      that is true

  30. Lenn

“How does that even count” was exactly my reaction when I read the play.
    APPARENTLY C-SECTIONS DON’T COUNT I MEAN WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN

  31. Mastergodai

    improv FTW

  32. Draven

I hope Sabrina comes back, she’s my second favorite.

  33. 1boredcanadian

this is my first time commenting so here we go first thing i want to say is ithink the comic series is great i do have a couple of questions not focused on this arc one is sashas dad one of joels parents when he was human and does rick accept storyline or caracter ideas? (plaese dont hurt me for being off topic)

    • Frank

If you’re worried about breaking the rules, then the best idea is to ask your questions in the forums. Though if you do ask here, and your questions are not a deliberate bait for an endless stream of off-topic posts, you probably will get a nice answer

      • 1boredcanadian

if it did come off as bait i do apologize

        • Frank

I haven’t seen the questions yet, so I can’t say

          • 1boredcanadian

maybe it is due to a massive lack of sleep but what do you mean?

          • Frank

            you: I have two questions!
me: So long as the questions aren’t bait
you: sorry if the questions came off as bait
me: Which questions? Where did you put them? How come I didn’t see them?

          • 1boredcanadian

            1. does rick accept story line or caracter ideas?
            2. is sashas dad actually one of joels parents when he was human?
