The Hover Dam is only 3 letters, the D-word is 4 letters, and in some areas, especial areas like the bible belt is big if not bigger swear than the F-Word.
Though I’m suprized Grape considered it that big of a deal.
So, what, you were all just bouncing in your seats waiting for me to use the word in the comic, and then accuse me of being worse when I don’t? Yeah, I’m not playing that game, thanks. I’ll cop to it not being the most elegant solution, but not to it being antithetical to what I want the comic to be.
–In particular, that I don’t care whether people discuss its presence in the actual play, but it is not going to be there if they don’t care for it.
Second, I wasn’t bouncing in my seat waiting for you to use the word in your comic. I -was- expecting you to find a humorous twist on it. (It’s hardly the most obscene thing Shakespeare wrote.)
Third, this is your comic. You have every right to be the Captain of the Pinafore:
Bad language or abuse,
I never, never use,
Whatever the emergency;
Though “bother it” I may
Occasionally say,
I never use a big, big D —
I’m not too sure what the deal is. I mean, it’s not like it’s a big thing, even for a comic like this. Plus, I prefer little stabs at adult humor like this; it’s like when Spongebob learned a “bad word” and started using it loosely. Take it with a grain of salt.
I LOVED these word puzzle jokes back in the old cartoons. It took me some time to understand them when I was just learning english, but after I got better in it I always kaughed my head off. XD
Peanut doesn’t really write fan-fiction though; he had that one little stint with Saso from Pridelands, but…eh, Spot is sort of his own thing (even if it is a parody of superheros).
I actually just love this latest arc, because the (LOL! appropriate mention!) fanfiction I’m writing just now actually refers a couple times to Macbeth – blood on hands, and all. I’m pretty sure that the characters in my story would get an ironic laugh out of all of this. But they’re too busy with their own ironies. Awesome work as always.
I love Peanut. <3
Who doesn’t love him?
the one dog that nobody really likes
If you’re referring to Bino, he has fans, too.
I’m referring to those who have had direct contact i have nothing against his fan base
or him
But he doesn’t love Peanut!
When I asked who doesn’t love Peanut, I meant as in the people who read this comic
Bino: I don’t care about peanut!
Random Blue Unicorn: But they care about you Bino!
Bino: Wait, who said th- oh crud.
lol Yeah! Send Bino through all of that XD
While Bino may be mean, I don’t think he deserves to have his kidney stolen.
Lol true… No one deserves that
I meant Bino being locked in a room with the songs from the series playing in a loop… Just to drive him nuts
He is already crazy, as one strip from the arc “Fido’s Return” demonstrated.
True.
I just enjoy the idea of annyoing Bino
then viciously hugging him… mainly because I am weird.
Cue crazy underwater song with creepily obsessive starfish?
But not as creepy as the weird manatee thing that sings it!
Back to the normal silliness that we all love.
As opposed to right out craziness?
lol smooth move Peanut
well some fan-fiction should not be written
But ALL Pridelands fanfiction is worthwhile.
Mrrrrr!
Pridelands-Thundercats crossover Christmas Special with Ewoks!
…
Lol Ewoks be so snuggely
Pridelands Fancic 2: The Return of Gapre.
Nonsense! Every fanfiction, especially saucy fanfiction, has right to be written!
What will the MSTers-wannabe read if there isn’t any bad fanfic?
I agree!!!
Everything has a right to Exist!
GOOD fanfiction deserves to exist of anything. BAD fanfiction does too, but only for the laughs.
What about mediocre fanfiction then?
Bad Peanut! Breaking character!!!
Peanut? Breaking character?
He is the last one I expected to break it.
Not to worry, he’ll mend it back! He is the doctor, after all
Doctor Who?
No, just “The Doctor”
My favourite strip of this arc so far.
And I just noticed Tarot’s facepalm… facepawlm, facepaw… facepawhlm…
You get the idea -.-”
I think she’s just covering herself, she may be small but that doesn’t mean she can’t be hit by a wayward shot.
I just love pulling these moves
Acute craziness, as opposed to… obtuse craziness?
Acute, when referring to a disease or disorder, means severe in effect. Such as acute kidney failure.
It’s a pun, Faokryn. It’s a pun
Actually it means “severe and sudden in onset“. Chronic conditions can also be severe.
Yes. Yes, absolutely.
Ah, look like Peanut got back at Grape for the art-comment.
What art-comment?
Heh, I was expecting an INCREDIBLY similar strip to this one.
Cue Face Palm Tarot!
I so desperately want to read her fan fiction…. -_-
Here you go: http://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/06/22/of-dishes-and-taking/
Oh I know, but Peanut apparently has very narrow vision.
Well, someone can’t keep on character!
Whats this based on?
Macbeth and previous strips, same as the rest of the arc.
ok
Epic goofy smile in panel 4.
And isn’t the old fashioned version of meanwhile “betimes”?
Betimes is early/before, meanwhile is afterwards.
Er, scratch that. It means the same time but somewhere else.
Good catch
Like “meanwhile” does!
D-Worded?
Same here. O_o”
Trying to keep PG… Finish the landmark
Hoover ____?
The Hover Dam is only 3 letters, the D-word is 4 letters, and in some areas, especial areas like the bible belt is big if not bigger swear than the F-Word.
Though I’m suprized Grape considered it that big of a deal.
Out out, darned sock!
???? The heck? What’s the D-Word
Truly, you have lived a sheltered life if you’ve never experienced profanity beginning with the letter D.
No I mean there are at least three swearwords beginning with D
Which one are you talking about!?
And to be honest I swear almost everyday.
(I’m awful)
Google “out out d* spot”.
Yeah, I was upset at Rick’s bowdlerization, too.
It calls attention to the word ‘damn’ more than just using the word does.
So, what, you were all just bouncing in your seats waiting for me to use the word in the comic, and then accuse me of being worse when I don’t? Yeah, I’m not playing that game, thanks. Dash it all, you did a darned good job of dodging the durned word, dagnabbit!
First, thank you for the reply.
Second, I wasn’t bouncing in my seat waiting for you to use the word in your comic. I -was- expecting you to find a humorous twist on it. (It’s hardly the most obscene thing Shakespeare wrote.)

I actually had a humorous twist in mind, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to work beavers into it
Rick, you could have had them making this play out in the forest, and they ran into some beavers at this part.
Well played sir!
At first I thought it was some kind of old expression, but now I just feel silly. X)

Classic gag.
And Peanut isn’t embarrassed by his fan fiction.
Peanut doesn’t really write fan-fiction though; he had that one little stint with Saso from Pridelands, but…eh, Spot is sort of his own thing (even if it is a parody of superheros).
I would like to think that Peanut closed his eyes in that last panel…
*lol*
I love this one. =D
Exceedenly cute! ^-^
You and I have Two different Definitions of cute.
I would call this ADORABLE!!!
http://www.precociouscomic.com/comic.php?page=117
and the one that immediately follows
4th panel’s cuteness FTW
Its the curse of the scottish play! flying signs!!
Subtle.
Fanfiction+Spot=?
(I know that’s not what you intended, but it’s still funny. XD)
Why does Tarot have to be so cute with that hat on?! XD
Also, I love Peanut’s face in panel 4.
hah nice one Peanut
Tarot: *facepalm*
OMG I completely forgot all about this!
I’m sorry( TT_TT)
Hahahahah, oh man. My sides are burning after that. Didn’t see that remark coming at all.
Doctor Peanut! We have another one!
Aww, I was really hoping for a Spot cameo for that line :3
Well, Peanut IS the author of Spot (Superdog!)
That sign would probably make a great T-Shirt
*hint* * hint*
I actually just love this latest arc, because the (LOL! appropriate mention!) fanfiction I’m writing just now actually refers a couple times to Macbeth – blood on hands, and all. Bah, you can throw in a reference to Housepets anyway, see how they like it
Tarot: I foresee a new avatar in your near future!
Me: *looks at his avatar* Woah, that was fast.
And… now there is one of the facepawing Tarot.
The second panel there is one of the best panels ever x3
Heh, I love little stabs of humor like this. I wonder what Tarot is thinking.
This is such a boring play! What it needs is… a green spirit dragon! *evil grin*
Needs more cowbell.
Always knew that grape was crazy
But having proof doesn’t hurt either…
Haha that’s the funny litte mutt we all luv^_^
he comments on his comic once on one random fan how come its never me?……………………………………………………………………………..
i guess im just being whinny i NEED TO GROW UP!
What’s that bit of green on the back of Tarots head. In panel 1 and 3.
Collar?
Maybe, but then shouldn’t we be able to see it in panel 4?
not really, she has a lot of neck fur covering it.
Hehe, she is fluffy and adorable
I do this to my sister whenever i get the chance. It’s hilarious! XD
LOL! Now THAT I understood! XD
LOONEY TOONS SCREWBALL REF!
And LOL for good measure X3
Panel 4: The sign is now pointing at Peanut :O
That’s cuz the sign is upside down
the point is though: It’s pointing at him.
Peanut is now what lies on the face!
Ah, now i get ya!
Ahh! No! Don’t cut out Spot!
well to keep comic G rated you could of used “dang” or “darned” LOL
& I do like Spot with a smile & tongue out hehe That another funny face I likes
that’s Peanut.
love the double meaning of “spot” in this case
