And to Damon, I think the funniest bit was that the nobles -enjoyed- it. He wrote &lt;i&gt;Richard III&lt;/i&gt; (I think it was that one, but could be &lt;i&gt;Richard II&lt;/i&gt;) and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth &lt;i&gt;actually quoted it&lt;/i&gt; against the Tudors (again, don&#039;t quote me; my history is rusty). His plays were popular amongst the high-brows for the same reason that &lt;i&gt;The Sopranos&lt;/i&gt; is popular amongst upstanding citizens: it&#039;s another world that allows us to vicariously experience things that we would otherwise never do in reality. Not exactly the same feeling, but close enough for government work.</description>
