First Bond movie I can recall where the last scene isn’t 007 in bed with the Good Bond Girl.
“On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” was the only Bond film before Casino Royale that didn’t end with Bond and the Girl making out or in bed with.

Ok fine but I still don’t understand why she didn’t just tell him in the first place.
What kind of spy would reveal herself being a spy? It’s not how spying works.
if they fall in love with someone on the other side and the war is over, they would do it.
Because the time wasn’t right. They were still playing war.
Look I could buy the whole “It was because she was playing a game” thing if it seemed like her goal wasn’t to stop the thing in the first place by exposing the conspiracy and getting Peanut back. If she cared about playing the war game at all and you know not trying to stop it I could buy that but again as I said her whole reason for being the spy would have stopped the war in the first place and she knew that.
I’m not saying this point ruins the Arc for me (I still enjoy it quite a bit) but IMO (and apparently no one else feels this way) it does hurt it because the arc would have been basically much,much shorter (but it doesn’t destroy the plot completely however, so its not exactly an Idiot Plot) by Grape doing something very logical that basically anyone would do.
Finding out what happened to Peanut and exposing the conspiracy was part of the game too.
No it wasn’t because, Peanut only figured it out on accident and only Grape and Peanut knew about it (and Zach but that was after the fact.) If it was part of the Game everyone would have known as it would have been a goal of the game that they would have wanted everyone to go after not just Peanut and Grape. Plus if everyone was meant to look for it and save Peanut it would have completely messed up Keenes plan.
Also there is the fact that even if that was true it would reenforce my point since Grape at that point would just want the cats to win easier there fore telling Max would make even more sense. Since the goals of the Game and her goals would be the same.
Winning the game is a meta-game goal.
And whats your point? It still doesn’t explain why she didn’t tell Max in the first place. Because winning the Meta-Game (figuring out the conspiracy and saving Peanut) would be a more important game goal then the War itself.
So far the only reason anyone has really given me basically boils down to ‘just because’ Which is a terrible answer that just shows weakness in the plot of the arc, making me right.
Let me add something to my last post. Since winning the Meta-Game (saving Peanut ect.) would win both parts of the game it would make even more sense for her to tell Max about it since it would win the Meta Game even faster and therefore win both parts of the game.
Grape had no way of knowing how deep the conspiracy went. for all she knew, Max could have known all about this and was working for Keene. telling him could have alerted Keene that Peanut wasn’t the only one who knew too much.
That would work but only if she knew that Keene was Maxs supplier which she didn’t. And if she suspected that Max was in on it that shows an abnormal level of distrust of her own boyfriend (I mean come on that would basically imply she though he helped kidnap Peanut) I know hes a bit of a jerk but that’s a level beyond jerk that I doubt Grape (or anybody) would suspect him of.
Also she would need to know that Keene (or at least whoever the supplier of the weapons was since she couldn’t have know it was Keene at the time) was the head of the conspiracy, which she had absolutely no way of knowing since all she had was an address.
when conspiracy is afoot, trust no one in power. Max was the one leading the cats, and that means the mastermind would either have him working for him, or would keep an eye on him to get info.
I’m sorry the one person you should be able to trust is your significant other. All that would show is their relationship is much weaker then anyone thought. I guess that really could be what Rick is going for here but I’m not sure enough to say 100%
It’s a strange game. The only way to win is to advance the storyline. Using your imagination.
I for one think that Grape and Peanut kinda just played their own game within the game. A war began which drove Cats and Dogs against each other, but what I’ve seen it’s not an ordinary watergun war, it’s like a game of pretend. They copy all the “cool” war stuff they’ve seen in television, along with all the terrible hollywood clichés. When Peanut found about the conspiracy and told about it to Grape she just rolled with it and started her own secret agent game within the war scenario.
Sure she could have told Max being a double agent but I that would have broken the character Grape was playing. As I said earlier, spies just doesn’t do that as it could endanger the mission. Only help the agents get in the movies are usually from one sidekick which joins the action in middle of the movie, like Zach did in this one.
Except there was no indication that they weren’t taking it seriously. (out side of Maybe and I mean Maybe Max being an idiot about Intelligence and Counter-Intelligence, though again as I said before that could easily be his overconfidence in his own abilities) They were inserting spies and capturing people to interrogate them to me that shows seriousness. And again Grape was clearly not caring about the war due to the fact that she wanted to stop it there was no indications she was “playing a character” as you said. She seemed legitimately worried and angry when she confronted Keene about Peanut and I don’t think she would have been if she wasn’t taking it seriously.

Is was all a game, but some used the opportunity to turn it into more than a game while others remained peacefully ignorant to the deeper plot to the game. Most did this just for fun, Grape however went further with it and in the end everyone was mostly happy.
Okay, I admit that might have been a bit reaching. I guess we’ll never know. Maybe before Zach came to speak with her she didn’t have the notes yet and spreading the word out being double agent would have been a mistake? Maybe she felt like it was something she wanted to do herself? Or maybe she thought he wouldn’t have helped her? Well that would have been poor thinking coming from Grape, but no one’s perfect. Or maybe because if she’d told him, we wouldn’t have this scene playing out exactly like this.
Except I doubt she could have gotten to the dogs (because remember she was with Max and Joey when Zach was being released) base, gotten the notes and gotten back to try to convince Max (more then once from the look of it) Joey was the Plant before Zach was dropped off.
If she wanted to do it her self why bring Zach along for the mission and in fact why wait to go get Peanut at all at that point.
Your second point brings up my trust issues point I stated above in response to Brent (which I doubt is true but I guess it could be what Rick was going for it just seems so very unlikely) and if he wouldn’t (which IMO there is no way he wouldn’t help her) help her he would be a much bigger Jerk then I thought.
And your last point is well stupid, there were many different ways he could have done the same thing between the two of them.
So you think she had the notes before Zach got captured? Then why didn’t she went after Peanut earlier as she didn’t ask help from Max? Meh, I got nothing anymore. Sure it would have been easy to insert Max to the rescue party, but why not? I don’t think it will be ever explained in future (being a rather minor detail story wise) and it’s going to be one of the many mysteries of Housepets! That is unless someone else can come up with something better.
Yeah I think we are going to have to just agree to disagree about this being a problem or not at this point. We’ve run this into the ground and I’m kind of tired of debating it.
I think Avansis was right when he said it was a game within a game. There was just too much they were doing purely for style, so much so it made me think it would turn out to be another movie.
Because he can’t be trusted with a secret? He strikes me as the sort to blab.
We all wondered how he’d take it, he like it very much.
It was obvious he didn’t care if there was a spy in the first place so it’s really no surprise (IMO) that he didn’t care his girlfriend was the spy. It would actually be kind of stupid,and make him a huge jerk (more so then he’s already been described as), if he did care since she was doing it to save her best friend.

Yeah, Dissension likes Bino so since there’s at least 1 person who likes the character then you’re not allowed to be too harshly mean. (especially since Bino is basically me if I had taken the lemons life threw at me and threw them back instead of making lemonade. I’ve even got the same brothers basically.)

The Great Water War Pt. 2
There was a great battle, the great water war.
With the whole neighborhood involved in the uproar.
The cats and the dogs fought long, fierce, and hard,
Throwing water balloons across neighborhood yards.
The cats had attacked with a really big balloon
But their celebration was over too soon.
The dogs returned fire, or water, as it seems,
I imagine the fields were crisscrossed with new streams.
Yet deception was brewing among the two sides.
And soon both were riddled with traitors and spies.
Poor Zach had been captured and tortured for truths,
But dear Zach was clueless, he had no good news.
So the dogs sent him back, to spy on the cats,
Saying there was another who would watch his back.
He told this to Grape, who already knew,
For she was the spy! And she knew what to do.
She was searching for Peanut, because he was lost.
She was willing to find him, no matter the cost.
They followed a lead that took them to the mall
Where they found a ferret, not surprising at all.
He told them his plan to sell water guns,
But mother nature decided to ruin his fun.
So he pushed a big button then ran far away,
But Peanut was there and he saved the day.
Now everyone’s settled and cozy at home,
I can’t think of a rhyme so I’ll call it a night.

I think Grape is too much like a… well, cat, for me to find her attractive. To me, Housepets! is a cute, funny comic with a good story. The characters can be cute, but not… hot.
Though I’m not saying thinking that’s weird or anything. Read the comic Rascals and tell me you aren’t attracted to at least one of the characters.

probably Max’s porch and Grape was just getting a towel out of his house, which is why in the alt-text, Max is asking her if she saw Bino while she was in there.

So Rick, looking back over the arcs i found “All The Kings Men, part 1″ I’ve read it before when i first found Housepets and it was really good. Then i noticed that there was no part 2, and that it’s been a long time since then. So i was just wondering when part 2 was going to come out, or if there even is a part 2 and this was just a one time deal?

I think that is going to happen, but it might not be for awhile, or it may be sooner than we think. But sooner or later, king is going to have to tell everybody the truth. He simply can’t hide under his dog form for the rest of his life and not forget what happened when he was human. Especially with what happened in the last arc with king and fox, something is Bound to happen.
King telling everyone about Joel is one alternative.

Well yeah, there are many, many ways this could unfold, i’m just saying it’s bound to happen sometime. And as far as King being native, idk. Yes he’s gotten used to being a dog, but it’s not like he’s simply gonna forget about his human life (unless the great kitsune erases his memory, which i doubt will happen). I mean, what happens when other dogs ask him about his past, what is he gonna say? He can’t just create more lies, everyone knows those don’t last for long.
That story line (as well as Fido and Sabrina’s relationship getting out) are almost unavoidable. They will happen eventually unless Rick really, really doesn’t want to do them but I highly doubt that.
Also King has already met Grape (though he has not yet met Peanut IIRC) in Dog Days of Summer right after hitting on Tarot.
