Agreed, and in addition, you have now made me really like Zach as a character. Well done with this arc.
I personally already liked Zach (he is my favorite secondary characters in the comic) and this arc actually moved him up to third place overall right behind Grape and Peanut (who are tied for Second, King being in First) and pushing Maxwell down to fourth.
Yeah, I already liked him, I just like him a lot more now. Not just because he was the main character of this arc, but just the way he reacted to everything, I was constantly amused.
Yeah, any story arcs involving Zach tends to be great arcs, if I’m not mistaken. His character is one that I’d always love to read through.
And yes, a journal writer! =3
This really pushed Zach into my perspective as a char. I was always stuck with Peanut as my absolute favorite, Grape as my second and King as my third. Zach blew King away and it’s in a close 3rd to Grape. I can’t wait to see what Rick does in the future to further change this.

Or worse yet, you could join a fanbase for a children’s cartoon show or a dark anime show based around a children’s games. The worst thing you could do is to follow a internet something or another and take great pleasure when it gets updated.

Its very likely that most of them would. That is another way they could have learned how to read, depending on how much they would trust Miles, as he is a wolf and therefore a predator to them. Which is why I think my original reason is much more likely because of the predator thing but him teaching them is also a good possibility.
I think it maybe the predator… they did had a dead deer as the centerpiece as their get-together party for the neighborhood.
I know that I have said this a lot, but I feel compelled to do so again.
Not only is Rick a superb artist, but he is also an excellent writer. I have read too many webcomics that use profanity in order to be funny. Rick, however, is such an excellent writer that he doesn’t feel the need to use profanity in order to be funny, because he knows that something can be funny without any profanity at all. In my opinion, any writer who can do that is a very intelligent person. Some people will write things and think “Ooh, I wrote a total of one hundred profane words in this comic! That makes it even funnier!” With Rick, I would imagine that he thinks “Hmm, I counted a total of five profane words. I should take those out of there.”
Rick, you have done an excellent job with this comic. Keep up the great work!

That’s actually a good question; most likely the Raccoons having lived around humans so long just picked up on it and kept passing it along to their kids because it was useful.

That reminds me that I had a question for you. Do you have multiple gravatar accounts? Because when I changed my gravatar, the next time I commented my old comments with my previous gravatar image were replaced with the new image. And in order to create a different account, do you have to use a different email adress?
Yes, I use two emails.
however I hear that if you have gmail you can put +anything between your username and the @ sign, it counts as a different e-mail address, but e-mails still get sent to your regular address.
I haven’t tried it, so I can’t assure you that it works.

Wait a minute, if they are just copying the things in Zachary’s diary, then that would mean that the diary would not be taken out of the room. If that is the case, then how does Zachary even know that they are copying what he writes? And if they did copy it, then how would Zachary know that the ferals did it? Then again, this is a webcomic, and stranger things have happened in Housepets! before.
My guess is that Zack found some racoon fur on his journal one day, and it just kept coming back every time he cleaned it off lol

I give up, I have been trying for days to think of songs I can relate this comic to. I pride myself on my ability to do so, but lately I just can’t. Congradations Rick on being completely original as far as I can tell.

I think it’s great that he made Zachary the center of this arc. It gives more info on how the character is. Hope the other characters all get their chance soon. But Peanut and Grape always need to be in it somehow. ^-^

Meanwhile, Bino, the original center focus of this comic, has but to make an appearance.

Either way, I loved this arc. An interesting parody (at least I found it to be parodic), and near-perfect art (there was the whole pads issue, but that got fixed!). Loved the story, and the anti-climax was just perfect, especially since it was involving Big Man Keene.
