i noticed that this comment of yours is not relevant to the current comic. shouldn’t you, in accordance with your own rules, post it to the forums?

note that rules and regulations like you posted here are not necessarily the best thing. I can’t speak for others, but i read these rules and thought “seriously? there are rules? we have to keep everything on topic? there are people watching the comments and making note of everything we say for anything that ‘counts against us’? i’m not even gonna bother posting here then.” too many rules and rules that are too strict can only so more bad than good. i understand why you posted this. people are jerks when they get to be anonymous. they troll, they fight. i get that you want to prevent this, but i think that this is not the way to do it. (especially because you can type whatever you want into the email slot and it will accept it. this is not my email. it is random letters at gmail.com.)
The rules are always relevant. We post them so people know what’s expected of them, since it’s possible to be banned for serious infractions. Wouldn’t do to have them secret, would it?
As has been said innumerable times, it is okay to post the alt-text as long as you have something to say about it. We don’t want everybody posting it because it degenerates into a twisted competition without purpose.
The entire purpose of this comment section is to provide feedback. Talking about the latest Transformers movie doesn’t tell Rick anything about how people receive his comic. It’s not impossible to have rules and fun. For discussion of everything else (and even the comic, too!), the forums are right over here.

As a mod, he has been given powers not available to mere mortals. For example, I will assume for the sake of discussion, that on your previous comments on the site, you provided your real email adress. If that is the case, then Dissension merely had to look at your previous comments to get the email adress. I am also assuming that a mod can look at the email adress that was typed.

Most probably not any specific reference. Cool guys never looks at the explosions in action movies.
I think it’s the Matrix, mostly cuz of their straight faces and the sunglasses, but it might also have some CSI in there too.
Like Avansis said, it’s more a general action movie convention, that the heroes walk calmly and unflinchingly away from explo(o)s(h)ions while looking cool.
Not everything has to reference a specific work, you know.

How to make Epicness
You need:
1 bowl
1 Housepets!
1 Rick Griffin
1 explosion
1 Peanut
Sunglasses
Salt
Start by mixing the Rick Griffin and Housepets! in the bowl. Then proceed with carefully sprinkling some Peanut on the top., and remember, there can never be too much Peanut. Now, without mixing further, add two large spoons of explosion. Salt to your taste and put some sunglasses on the top. Mix it, and let it swell for two hours. There! Your very own Epicness!
For extra taste, try adding a few spoonfulls of Grape, or maybe a glass of some Zach. But remember, if adding to own taste, don’t use any Bino, because it’ll ruin the taste of Peanut.
