I rubbed a cat’s tummy and it never attacked me. Though I did get attacked when I rubbed my dog’s tummy.
They can be trained to attack gently, and even solicit tummy rubs, but when cats fight or attack larger pray raking the belly with hindclaws is a common tactic… so they have an instinctive defense against it.
My cat wasn’t a people person. It would always hide in this one corner. ;_;

Clearly, the cats attacked because of their abnormal fear of water. So they used water in the attack.

Chocolate can make many animals sick, but it’s not instantaneous poison to them. My relatives had a back sale once. One of the dogs ate several trays of brownies, all he did was throw them all back up and that might only be because he ate way too much. He lived.
But the dogs still control the pool. They (he) could swim in it and end everything. If that really is all there is to this war…

Though why would an old cat lady have a pool? And isn’t chocolate just as bad for ferrets? Unless being rodents, or a close family to them, they can eat whatever they want?

Flooded out? That sounds like more than water balloons (unless they started with one of the big ones). Why do I suspect that – if the cats had anything to do with the flood at all – it probably involved leaving a hose on or fiddling with a fire hydrant?

Yes very true the Dogs could have done something to make the Cats angry (most likely Bino if anybody) so I really shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions like that for all we know Rockstar Hawk might be lying.
What I should have said is: If what we are being told is true I bet Max was the one that came up with the plan it seems like something he would come up with.

Well I meant that Bino could have done something to Max (which is another reason to suspect that he might have done the attack) or another Cat at another time like maybe the day before and this is revenge or something.
Bino was asleep at noon, so he may have done something late at night the previous night.
I would’ve used vanilla pudding instead. XD
For the pets it would probably really hurt to get hit in the head with a water balloon or a water gun because the water would go right into their ears. :S
I didn’t think of that.
Just last night, I had water stuck in my ear from swimming in my above-ground pool. It was extremely irritating, but thankfully it leaked out overnight.
I can’t imagine how that would feel for a dog/cat/rabbit/chicken/etc.

eww… I’m with Rockstar Hawk in this one. Chocolate Mousse/pudding is not only difficult to swim in, it stains fur and after a few hours… it turns in the sun.
It sounds good at first, but in the end it’s just gross.
A pool full of Jello on the other hand…

The Great Water War
This is the story of one epic battle,
of two different forces, whose cages were rattled.
One side of cats, the other of dogs
and a misguided rabbit, with his head in a fog.
Dogs led by a wolf, a cub to be exact,
fighting in retaliation, after a surprise cat attack.
The cats, led by Max, try to conquer the pool,
if he thinks that it’s easy, he is quite a fool.
But with the big guns depleted, and balloons running low,
the fatigue of war will soon start to show.
From spying to nukes, anything goes.
But what happens from here, only Rick knows.
Epic, moar poemz plz.
Perhaps as the story line progresses, a poem with every strip would grow tiresome and lose excitement
