anticlimactic? maybe, but that’s not how I’d put it. This comic gave us a lot of information we were only guessing about. This raises a lot of awesome implications.
I will agree that this particular strip is somewhat of a disappointment–after all, absolutely nothing was accomplished except reasserting the idea that the watch will be retrieved by a servant of heaven–but I am rather excited to see what happens when the messenger arrives. I’m not exactly happy with the idea of Joel turning back into a human, but I’m excited to see how the tension between King and Fox is dissipated and how King comes to terms with his mistakes in his human life.
The what in the what now? O_o” It’s not that big of a deal ya know since… siiince… There are fireworks!
Anyways this is a comic it doesn’t have to have a huge action scene or big revelation at the end of a story… and didn’ we talk about there’s still one last strip of this arc left on the last strip? Or was that the strip BEFORE the last strip I kinda lost count… This arc was said to be 18 strip long if I can remember right?
Okay. I think that you only think that it was anticlamitic becuase we all were (at least, a good portion of us) expecting someone else to grab the watch and have a big commotion and all. But, for Fox to actually step in and be a freind (Le gasp! ) and end the matter queitly, and then just let the matter drop between him and King, some of us felt let down. I for one, thought it perfect. Just my two cents.
Well that was an interesting ending to Year 3 and this Arc. Not what I expected (and I really still want to know what in the world happened to Pete exactly) but it was good none the less. Here’s to Year Four and Beyond!
Well, that’s a possible benefit for him. It’s a wonder that Pete didn’t try claiming that as his “for his own good” justification for transforming him.
Does King’s expression mean he’s finally resigning to his fate? After all he’s been through, to have to wait even longer is tense enough. Excellent ambiance as always!
So what has happened to Joel/King has happened before? And what does she mean by “This isn’t a unprecedented but you weren’t exactly a paragon either” mean?
Gah there’s so many questions about this…
Congrats on 3 years Rick, and hope you get to see many many more from this comic you’ve made.
a paragon is “a model or pattern of particular excellence”. I think what she means is this type of thing or maybe something similar has happened, but Joel may not have been able to get into Human heaven but might be able to get into Dog heaven. questions!
nice! Although this does raise many questions, it gives us a few bits of information we (or at least I) have been wondering about.
p.s. King, pick dog heaven!
p.p.s. Happy third birthdayanniversaryday Housepets!
He has a choice and eventually he’ll make it. If he stays a dog he’ll very likely get into Heaven, if he goes back to being human he might not because of his past actions (we’re still not sure why he ended up in jail the first time). Either one has consequences.
he was arrested after kidnapping Fox together with the one known as Fat PETA guy. During such occasion, fat guy almost killed Fox by suffocation.
Then Joel was transformed into King by Pete, and astral-jumped away from the prison, but that also will surely warrant him an additional sentence for prison break.
Is it really better for him though? He lives with wolves, the food likely isn’t any good and he’s unemployed in a scenario where money would be a help.
Of course if being canine is the only way into Heaven for him then as said previous “Join the Dog Side, they have biscuits.” A few sniffed butts is a fair tradeoff.
As a human, he’d be BOTH unemployed AND in prison, with an added sentence for prison break. Plus, he’d have a criminal record, and no friends save for the PETA fanatics.
Anyone considered that, all in all (and yes, that would be irony big time) he could be adopted by Bill to live with awesome friend Fox?
I totally agree. No jail time, some allowance from the wolves, a good friend, and heaven sounds good to me. I think it’s a good exchange for some fleas, itchy hot fur in summer, and annoying dogs like Bino… well maybe Bino makes the choice hard lol
Elwood, your “he lives with the wolves” comment combined with the fact that they seem to see him as one of their kids made me realize : he’s literally being raised by the wolves.
Congratulations on 3 years Rick!!!! Way to go. And I hope king realizes that as a dog he has real friends, and a real life, and he’s much better off staying that way.
I meant Not All Dogs. That wasn’t supposed to be not all dogs go to heaven because Rick got the idea and was playing off the movie. I mean why not? It is a really good movie
Good heavens the implications even in the boxes and the information digesting in my head makes this an awesome end to this arc, because, this means a lot and frankly can for the person involved, be scary.
…well, this also means he may or may not be on thin ice with Fox since he recognizes the name of a certain individual on the back of that watch. That, and I haven’t really seen him interact much with Peanut or Grape…like, barely at all.
Plus, do you guys think this means that King is in “control” of his fate? I don’t think I’ve seen that question directly asked yet. Either that, or I’m a little unobservant.
Wait! What? Where? Who? Banana?(How did this get here?)
Maybe it’s cuz I was doing yardwork, but I kinda lost the line PRETTY bad here…
Okay so far as I DID get the point is King doesn’t know if he wants to be a human again or stay a dog forever? Yeah that IS a prob King.
Sooo HP just turned 3 years old? … Then HAPPY BIRTHDAY from Hungary!!! Keep up the awesome work Rick!
Come on King, embrace the dog side. You have friends on the dog side, no jail term to serve, biscuits, and awesome looking, themed accessories (collars).
Plus, I think a lot of us would miss you a lot if you embraced your human fate.
Plus fleas, various shots, Bino, being stuck with wearing a fur coat in summer…
Seriously, though, some of the other responses to this post leave me feeling a little uneasy. Yeah, it’s just a webcomic and not real life, but not changing back just because some audience members prefer him as a dog? What about what Joel wants?
If Joel wants to become human again and that is the way the comic goes, we can’t do anything about it. Some, including me, would like to see King remain a dog but if he returns to being a human, we can deal with ourselves.
doesn’t mean we can’t voice an opinion now, though
1) ‘it’s just a comic’ is an argument one uses to kill off a conversation/discussion.
2) In truth, Rick has mastered to give us a perfect example of balance between Joel’s original wish and the new prospects ahead of him. So nothing is decided.
And sometimes, fandom’s opinion holds its weight, although the author is not supposed to bend passively to it, rather listen to it. If an author decided to ignore completely his fandom, then what use of comment spaces and forum?
Join us King, join the Dog side of Hea…….wait, if there’s a pooch heaven? Does that mean that there’s an evil side and possibly peoples worse than Pete? o.o
Absolutely amazing arc. Everything from the art (which was nigh flawless) to the story was as good as I could possibly expect, and this wrap-up solves as many things as it opens up for discussion! Spectacular job, Rick. I also hope you’ll keep the new ‘thicker’ art style.
I’m intrigued by a lot of the options left. Of course we don’t know whether Fox knows King is Joel (he’s a smart dog though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did in fact deduce King’s identity from how hard King was working to get that watch), but we’re also unsure of exactly how this will affect Pete and his game with SD. One question that came up is:
Which Heaven did Pete steal Joel’s fate from? I saw mythical/non-mythical creatures there, but that doesn’t seem like much of a basis to form a conclusion on which heaven it was from.
I thought about this too. But since his soul is still in limbo, maybe heaven hasn’t recognized him as a dog yet (so it would be in human heaven), and when he chooses to embrace either life, the clock will stay the same or change to the name king (and possibly move to dog heaven).
Well, King obviously got his watch back. Now Sabrina? is explaining why he was in cosmic-horror trouble right now. In short, he needs to decide if he fully accepts or fully rejects being a dog, in order for [insert cosmic being here] to decide which heaven he will be judged by, the very lenient dog heaven or the human heaven that would likely send him the other way.
But anyway. Happy birthday erryone! And many more to come!
Yes, for Bino too. We need someone to hate so the fan artists have someone they can hit with a sledgehammer.
Considering that the road leading up to his human fate orb had animals walking down it, I’m guessing it’s not segregated; It’s just the entrance methods that differ
So they can visit other Heavens, cool I wonder exactly how that works do they have to get permission or something? And how do they get to other Heavens do they like take a bus or something?
I imagine that in a world like this, the bible might read “in Christ there is Jew nor Greek, male nor female, free nor slave, human nor dog.” Even partitioned, it just wouldn’t seem right.
likewise, the different animals and humans can do everything together, but when they want privacy, they can hang out in a living area with just their own kind.
Although I know it’s a comic, I’d like to point out that according to Christian belief, just because you do a bunch of bad things doesn’t guarantee you go to Hell. Likewise, doing a bunch of good things doesn’t mean you go to Heaven, either. It’s forgiveness by Jesus that makes the difference.
My point being, even if he were to go back to human, that doesn’t have to guarantee that he cannot get into Heaven, theoretically.
But this is a comic. It’s Rick’s rules, right?
Having said this, I also think he’s better a dog =D [or at least, more fun of a character]
We could go on a rather large religious discussion if we wanted to. However, I agree. this is just a comic, probably shouldn’t read too much into it.. However, might as well say: Rick is essentially the deity of this universe
Possibly the multiple URLs, something seen from time to time in spammer posts. Just another “leave it to a few idiots to screw things up for everyone else” issue.
There isn’t anything to get really, Karishad is one of the Foxes in the Zoo who likes to play pranks and mess around. In real life he is a good friend of Ricks so he gets cameos and Mentions in the comic.
Well, if you’re being technical about it, I don’t think “googles” is a real word, as there is only one Google (but many copycats of it). However, “googols” might be, referring to the extremely large number that Google was named after.
It quite confuses me, I thought it was the watch doing the Krakooms. It is a metaphysical artifact so I thought it might uses thunder for alarms… turns out it’s just firecrackers. Huh.
And we come to the end of another year, and what is year it has been.. But I do like where the ending note of this year has brought us. and rather go all religious and bring unnecessary info into this. I do like how it is explain the paths of Heaven. Also how King is stuck again with another decision. It a classic case of the ‘grass is greener’. Joel now knowing more truth any human see that Heaven has a strict code for Human.. why? well there plenty of reasons for it but no need to bog down with the details. The point is that his chances of getting to heaven was slim as a human, and better as a dog cause heaven is more lenient to animals. So now he knowing heaven exist and his chance of eternal happiness is now force upon him since he got transformed. I see the watch in his paw as a way of choosing his own fate. And the end when he said “this sucks” I can feel for him cause it like he wanted to go back to human, but now seeing that he can gain entry to heaven as a pet.. it make it harder to go back, in fact the question becomes “why go back when we have to live by a stricter code?” This was a great way to end the year, showing the conflict that we have to deal with in our own live. I am beginning to like King alot, I just hope he does make the right decision and finally participate in the ‘game’ he been trying to avoid.. I am sure he would have fun.
This comment is an English teacher’s dream: well thought-out, expresses things well, exactly as profound as it needs to be, and yet has so many things that need correcting
yea I am sorry, my grammar is horrible. I think the next time I post, I will be thoughtful of my grammar and check my post over several times before I submit it.
See, guys, it’s not really necessary to point out when someone’s grammar and spelling are not up to your standards. It only detracts from the fun atmosphere!
Well thank you first, and it is ok about their feedback, it at least let me know to be weary of my grammar when I type long posts like the one above. I will continue to give my input as this matte as it comes up again but I feel in the third year we may move away from king for a short while and focus on the other characters. We now know that King has 2 paths laid before him. One his human path and the other his current dog path, and the choice of what he will become and how it will effect his story will come in time. But with Pete in heaven jail, I believe the game is either on hold, or if it is continuing there only the Spirit dragon and the fox spirit GM until 1.) another player enters the game (hopefully King). or 2.) Pete does break out, find an avatar and have revenge on the Dragon ( for he will blame her of course for his failings) and King (indirectly), making quite and epic and interesting story that will span both the earth and heavens. And like any roleplaying game, we are the NPC that cheers on the heroes and like bards, we tell their story. Again I am excited about this tale and I would love to do music for it, about Babylon gardens and the lives that dwell there.
well the smoking referred to there was alluding to drug use, which is illegal and therefore not safe for the rating. Valerio is referring tobacco, which IS legal once you reach a certain age, so it’s acceptable. otherwise, Rick wouldn’t be allowed to portray Sasha’s dad as a drinker.
but from the “last” part of “last cigarette,” that means that either they’ve been smoking and are about to quit, which is good, or they’re about to die anyway and cigarettes won’t really matter.
age has nothing to do with it. while still outdated, it is still used on television to show that the character is, at least in a figurative, “he/she’s going to kill me” way, going to die.
How exactly would he “embrace” being a dog? He’s already got the body and a basic set of instincts, does he have to use them to show up anytime somebody opens a bag of chips to beg?
he has to give up any chance of becoming a human again. just because someone isn’t good at sports, they don’t automatically accept it and refrain from trying to better themselves.
I think he’s learned his lesson by now, don’t you think? Just coming out and telling Fox about EVERYTHING (griffin, heaven, the watch, and himself) will take lots of guts to do. But that’s if he actually DOES do it. His life has been rough from the begining, and he deverves a break. Yes i do think people should be responsible for their actions, but this is a chance to make things right with himself (and Fox). When he was human, Joel was only responding back the way he was being treated. In this case, his own pets were treating him badly, and thus, he got the wrong impression and started acting on those thoughts. But now that he’s been living with them and has spent time around other pets, he now has another view on life and he sees that what he did was wrong. Now King just needs to ask Fox for forgiveness and hopefully the friendship will continue.
I don’t read this for like 2 years, come back, catch up, and then keep mashing the Next button wondering why it won’t go any further… I JUST GOT BACK IN TO IT! I need more! ;_;
Here’s an odd question.. what happened to Pete? is he in heaven prison? does it even have a prison? if so how will he play THE GAME (which you just lost). Will he hire a less-than-honorable mercenary to spring him?http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/106591-.html?m=2. or is that not enough?… wow that’s more than one question
You know, If I were king I’d probably stay a dog… Sure he wanted to be human, But what did he have in that life? He himself said he had nothing to go back to, Its referenced multiple times he had no friends and that he was an outcast. also, His human form is being charged with Kidnapping, so whats left to go back to? Better just to start over completely.

Poor ol King!
Year Three ends the journey continues!
YAY! Three years on the Internet! Way to go, Rick!
Ok. Now, THAT was anticlimatic.
anticlimactic? maybe, but that’s not how I’d put it. This comic gave us a lot of information we were only guessing about. This raises a lot of awesome implications.
Wasn’t precisely what I was expecting at all, but intriguing ending nonetheless.
It’s not anticlimax, it’s understatement!
OMG! I get what Anticlimactic means now! I never REALLY understood until now.
For some odd reason, your avi goes perfectly with that. I just love having Daisy moments.
Has Daisy at any point said anything other than “Hi, I’m Daisy”?
Nope.
Lol, I second this.
Seems like a good ending to me. It’s a cliffhanger that will cue even more discussion on the message boards.
Me too. I hope the next arc (or next year?) shows Fox becoming closer with King, and maybe even a confession from King.
-suspense-
hey a templar ITS TRACE YAY!!!
Templar? Where? O_o”
Woot! Fellow TwoKinds fans!!!
OOOooohhh… I’ll have to check that comic out sooner or later. XD
@gaboris
You mean you haven’t??
*smacks gaboris on the nose*
Bad! No cookie for you!
If you’d like to talk about other comics, why not hit up the forums? : )
“Kassard De Templari.”
@FuR: Au…that kinda hurt my sensitive sno… (NONONO!) Nose.
@Dis: Forums? Nuuuu! Forums I do not like, but I’ll keep my mouth. >.<
completely agree!
I’d like to see King get a wide circle of friends. Particularly among the folks who know about Pete.
Happy b-day, Housepets!
3 years old, that’s like 21 in dog years…TIME TO PARTY ALL NIGHT LOOOONG!
Happeh Anniversary man!
I don’t think we can comment on he musculature of the characters this time…
but look how buff that watch is.
*FacePalms but laughs anyway.*
The King chess piece looks especially ripped.
Naw man, the bed is was more buff.
A leather bed?
Not to mention the bed has an amazing tan!
Oh, and that lightning must work out eight days a week! (haha, Beatles reference)
Don’t worry, we’ll repair it
Look at those text bubbles! They’re so ripped they became squares!
three years! that’s cool :3
i hope king stay like a dog…
I agree it not like he has much to return to as human
We don’t know that for certain.
He gets Fox, he stays friend with Sasha and has hopes to improving even more.
GO KING FTW!
And so it begins…
so there are more than one heavens, sweet.Dog heaven rlz
But that would mean that humans can’tbe with their pets in Heaven, wouldn’t it?
What kind of Heaven is that?
Also, I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention “All dogs go to Heaven” here, but maybe someone did and I missed it.
Nevermind, someone already has.
Congrats rick!
Gotta love King, no matter what situation he is in.
Does King’s expression mean he’s finally resigning to his fate? After all he’s been through, to have to wait even longer is tense enough. Excellent ambiance as always!
I have to agree with Valerio that was rather anticlimactic but Grats on 3 years Rick.

ALT TEXT: that’s not lightning, Karishad just got hold of some firecrackers.
So confused, but the possibilities this leaves…
You are phenomenal Rick. Congratulations on a strong three years! Sorry I missed most of them D:
No, it can’t be lightning, especially when it’s raining outside! XD
I don’t think I quite get it. So, is he now stuck as a dog because he acted too late?
Congrats on three years, Rick!
He has a choice and eventually he’ll make it. If he stays a dog he’ll very likely get into Heaven, if he goes back to being human he might not because of his past actions (we’re still not sure why he ended up in jail the first time). Either one has consequences.
he ended up in jail because he kidnapped (or dognapped if you prefer) fox .
Not the first time.
PETA was the only animal rights group that would take him because he had a record. We don’t know why.
he was arrested after kidnapping Fox together with the one known as Fat PETA guy. During such occasion, fat guy almost killed Fox by suffocation.
Then Joel was transformed into King by Pete, and astral-jumped away from the prison, but that also will surely warrant him an additional sentence for prison break.
Well, it might result in one, but it wouldn’t warrant it since he was not responsible for it.
Yes, but who would believe that a griffin came and teleported him out.
A judgewoman with a kid fan of Harry Potter
Well… Now King or Joe has to pick a side. Which would he chose
I choose you-*!
*ducks*
Ah ha ah ha! Funny
the one with cookies!
the one with Fox!
The one with cookies AND Fox ! (pseudo-chocolate cookies, of course)
If he gets to go to a heaven with doors that are portals, I’ll take the dog side.
What about ferrets, though, do they go to heaven?
Do you REALLY want to know about ferret heaven?
I went there accidentally during a sugar high.
…It’s shiny.
Oooooohhhhh ssshhhinnnyyy! Wait…. MY EYES!!!
Ah furry heaven just Imagen it.
YES!
I don’t think any other soul could survive the experience -only Karishad’s idea of heaven could out-do the ferret heaven
Cat heaven? That’d get crowded with all those lives piling up.
Raccoon heaven? Racoons with thumbs?
Hyena heaven?
Dolphin heaven?
that last one would be full of world domination.
and fish
poor king hope he get out of this
as a dog
*nods savagely*
I really want him to stay a dog. I hope he figures out how much better being a dog is soon
Happy Anniversary Rick and Housepets!

There’s also a much shorter lifespan in that deal but let’s be honest, it’s a non-factor in this strip (almost certain that won’t come into play).
Elwood, your “he lives with the wolves” comment combined with the fact that they seem to see him as one of their kids made me realize : he’s literally being raised by the wolves.
well at least he’s not being fed to them XD
Have you ever danced with the wolves in the pale moonlight?
And what a way to end it! Wow. Also, poor King.
Not an anticlimax, this is a fine way to end the arc, though yes I am super curious about Pete. :3
Congratulations on 3 years Rick!!!! Way to go. And I hope king realizes that as a dog he has real friends, and a real life, and he’s much better off staying that way.
Why is this reminds me of “All Dogs go to Heaven”?
The name of the arc is All Dogs for a reason
I meant Not All Dogs. That wasn’t supposed to be not all dogs go to heaven because Rick got the idea and was playing off the movie. I mean why not? It is a really good movie
It seems like arcs with king are usually named after movies. His first one was “It’s a wonderful dogs life”
oh my….
uh, why is everyone saying this is not climatic?
Good heavens the implications even in the boxes and the information digesting in my head makes this an awesome end to this arc, because, this means a lot and frankly can for the person involved, be scary.
Because the climax was Bino’s attempt to smash the watch! This is the resolution / dénouement
minor detail
…well, this also means he may or may not be on thin ice with Fox since he recognizes the name of a certain individual on the back of that watch. That, and I haven’t really seen him interact much with Peanut or Grape…like, barely at all.
Plus, do you guys think this means that King is in “control” of his fate? I don’t think I’ve seen that question directly asked yet. Either that, or I’m a little unobservant.
Bwa ha! King’s expression in the last panel made me LSHIP a bit!
Hard to believe it’s been another full year already. Congrats.
It would suck to get woken up by fireworks. you know then that you are missing out on blowing things up!
It’s just a thunderstrom.
If you move your cursor over the comic, the alt text appears.
Thanks, I didn’t catch that until this morning.
I thought the alt text was sarcastic, because earlier it was raining, so that would make fireworks kind of hard to do.
you severly underestimate Karishad!
there was a fellow a few weeks ago that would set off fireworks at 3am every morning around my home
Also, i’m confused. Why it this the end of the arc?
Probably the story will continue with a different name. I think mainly because the anniversary of the creation of Housepets
*shrug* fair enough. thanks for clarifying
BooM !!!
KRAKOOM!
DOOM!
Where!?
well, I think that there is eminent for king if he doesn’t make his choice soon.
to be more accurate though, I didn’t realize that both of those were sound effects from the strip and I was just rhyming.
my goodness. glad i dont have to catch up on three years of comics x3 think ill reread them tonight. con grats rick!
He still hasn’t made up his mind??? And why does she keep mentioning Heaven? I keep getting the uneasy impression that King will…
WOW… XD
How’s it gonna be?
not all dogs go to heaven… clearly..
so, he has to choose to stay a dog, or a human…
also.. cute! doggie sized bed!
Probably wolf cub -sized, considering his circumstances
My GAWD! I just understood the reference to “All Dogs Go to Heaven” X.x
*me-fail*
Wait! What? Where?
Seconded
Thirded!
Fourthed!!!
Fifthed!!!!!
I agree as well.
Yes stay a dog we will miss the cute!
there’s never enough of Kingy cuteness
Agreed.
Oh, definitely agreed.
Does that mean that there’s an evil side and possibly peoples worse than Pete? o.o
C’mon! Be a dawg! Fox neeeeds you in his life forever!
I need you in my life forever, too!
We love you, dawg! Don’t be a wuss and stay with Fox
WOOT! 3 YEARS!!!
*Does a dance*
Okay so, all this time I would have advocated King changing back to Joel. But a free ride into heaven is a sweet deal …Go for it King? I’m not sure.
I think did not get this strip… could someone explain ?
Ok!
Oh i knew that ! I meant the boom bam sounda effects
I dunno why King’d wanna go back to being human.
He’s got so much to lose if he goes back to ol’ stinkin Joel. And he’d lose his fans as well!
Yeah, Joel was ugly; King is ADORABLE!
And King as King has more room for depth than going back to being Joel.
King wasn’t just adorable, but also quite adorkable.
Ladies, cars and chocolate come to mind to name a few things. Granted in jail he’d have none of those anyway.
But what about the charming young women?
They are very nice, I don’t know why they are used for swears.
Because humans are very rude and won’t say ’son of pretty cuddly doggy’
You make an excellent point, Valerio.
A segregated Heaven doesn’t seem much like Heaven to me.
Considering that the road leading up to his human fate orb had animals walking down it, I’m guessing it’s not segregated; It’s just the entrance methods that differ
Not segregated, partitioned
So they can visit other Heavens, cool I wonder exactly how that works do they have to get permission or something? And how do they get to other Heavens do they like take a bus or something?
exportfs /vol/humans humans.species,joel
exportfs /vol/dogs dogs.species,wolves.species,king,coyotes.species
exportfs /vol/dogs foxes.species
an internet’s off to you, sir!
I imagine that in a world like this, the bible might read “in Christ there is Jew nor Greek, male nor female, free nor slave, human nor dog.” Even partitioned, it just wouldn’t seem right.
well, I think it would be like co-ed colleges. men and women are able to learn in the same place, but they don’t sleep in the same dorm rooms.
likewise, the different animals and humans can do everything together, but when they want privacy, they can hang out in a living area with just their own kind.
Who’d like to go to Hog Heaven & get some ribs, eh?
Yeeehaw!
But they’re dead…
lol
They won’t mind as much.
mhm.. and what’s up with those boom sounds ?
Lightning is always good for dramatic moments.
Karishad got a hold of some fireworks
see alt text.
I am never able see the alt, people know that already and i ask them to post it sometimes x3
he’s got the boom boom pow
You, sir, are win. +1 internets to you.
-goes to dig up Black-Eyed Peas songs-
Although I know it’s a comic, I’d like to point out that according to Christian belief, just because you do a bunch of bad things doesn’t guarantee you go to Hell.
I don’t know. Redemption and Sacrifice just don’t sound as funny
Boy, Fido sure does look muscular, even moreso than usual
And let’s not forget one thing: Karishad is awesome too!
I hate to sound inexperienced, but who is karishad
Karishad is the troublemonger fox who first appeared HERE
http://www.housepetscomic.com/2008/11/03/wait-where-did-he-get-a-computer/
and then again, HERE

And what’s in this post to await moderation? My name *giggles*
Possibly the multiple URLs, something seen from time to time in spammer posts. Just another “leave it to a few idiots to screw things up for everyone else” issue.
This message has been edited by a moderator.
I still don’t get the Karishad thing. And the googles, they do nothing.
There isn’t anything to get really, Karishad is one of the Foxes in the Zoo who likes to play pranks and mess around. In real life he is a good friend of Ricks so he gets cameos and Mentions in the comic.
The one thing goggles can do is nothing
he said googles, he wasn’t referring to the goggles mentioned by Ranier Wolfcastle.
Well, if you’re being technical about it, I don’t think “googles” is a real word, as there is only one Google (but many copycats of it). However, “googols” might be, referring to the extremely large number that Google was named after.
If you can win multiple internets, you can have multiple googles.
It quite confuses me, I thought it was the watch doing the Krakooms. It is a metaphysical artifact so I thought it might uses thunder for alarms… turns out it’s just firecrackers. Huh.
I love the way the eyes were on the last frame, he looks awe struck.
Wow…also,HAPPY 3 YEARS OF HOUSEPETS!
ooo i have to agree … even more so than usual.
o wait, I see what you did there
And we come to the end of another year, and what is year it has been..
Wow, I totally understand this arc now!
This comment is an English teacher’s dream: well thought-out, expresses things well, exactly as profound as it needs to be, and yet has so many things that need correcting
indeed. I have to fight the urge to correct every time I read his posts.
English teacher’s dream = grammar Nazi’s nightmare.
yea I am sorry, my grammar is horrible. I think the next time I post, I will be thoughtful of my grammar and check my post over several times before I submit it.
See, guys, it’s not really necessary to point out when someone’s grammar and spelling are not up to your standards. It only detracts from the fun atmosphere!
Actually, I was complimenting on his thoughtfulness.
and I was agreeing with him, though I probably could have made that clearer.
“Heaven jail”
I like that term
Huh. Today’s the anniversary of the comic? Sweet! It coincides with my birthday.
That is without a doubt the best birthday ever
I get the annual present of sharing my birthday with this comic now.
And, of course HAPPY 3 YEARS OF HOUSEPETS! *cheers*
What kind of party could we throw for year 5? Better start planning…
wow, kings room is very plain D:
also, happy 3 years housepets!!
it’s not plain there are all sorts of decorations just outside of viewing due to the darkness
Congratulations~
Also, I anticipate much backlash and broken fanbase if Joel goes back to being normal.
Checklist time!
Rope…Torches…Pitchforks…Axes…last cigarette…
http://www.housepetscomic.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/2009-01-05-no-comic.png :3
well the smoking referred to there was alluding to drug use, which is illegal and therefore not safe for the rating. Valerio is referring tobacco, which IS legal once you reach a certain age, so it’s acceptable. otherwise, Rick wouldn’t be allowed to portray Sasha’s dad as a drinker.
it’s still bad for you.
but from the “last” part of “last cigarette,” that means that either they’ve been smoking and are about to quit, which is good, or they’re about to die anyway and cigarettes won’t really matter.
I think the “last cigarette” is part of a tradition with the condemned. You know, “any last words?” or “what’s your dying wish?”
I mean, come on, the rest of the list is clearly taken from here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=917Q8dbpRLE
You know light, Viath…Last cigarette of the sentenced? Before he gets executed? Old traditions?
*sigh* I’m getting too old for this
age has nothing to do with it. while still outdated, it is still used on television to show that the character is, at least in a figurative, “he/she’s going to kill me” way, going to die.
Happy three years!
Why was there a random boom?
Thunder, it was raining before. The alt text says its karishad with firecrackers, but I think Rick was just messing with us.
Karishad can out-thunder a stormy night!
Yah, I think this is one of the non-canon alt-texts.
Firecrackers just aren’t that bright.
There’s canon ones?
I think most of them are actually
Pete sure did a number on Joel’s life.
For any heavenly problem featuring Griffins, dial 800-JERK
I’d give him a 7.5.
You forgot the “1″ in front of that number, there.
Gah, meant to reply to Valerio.
Happy Birthday HousePets! 3 years old now! =3 and Congratulations Rick! =3
Well, someone’s a fan of all Dog’s Go to Heaven.
So, do foxes go to dog heaven, and do they get fireworks up there too?
“Hey, watch this!”
*supernova*
“Oooooh! Cool!”
“Good thing fur grows back fast up here.”
…………It sucks indeed. wow i feel bad for joel, now he must choose. His humanity or his doggyness. eather one gives up loved ones and friends.
which loved one and friends..?
As King he surely got more to lose, right now.
Hmm. I wonder who’ll pick up the watch…
Charlie Barkin!
It’s a pretty decent ending, definately not what I expected. It does leave you with a cliffhanger though.
Happy anniversary Housepets!
Let’s see Karishad! Firecrackers are fun you just can’t blow yourself up.
STAY A DOG!! Chur much cuter that way Q~Q
not to mention he can provide for much more interesting and entertaining situation
Don’t forget the police.
He’s a dog, end of story!
Three years? Wow. I only found this strip recently and plowed through the archives. Keep rockin’ it Mr. Griffin!
He’s a person.
He has to take responsibility for his actions, and grow from said actions.
Physically, he’s a dog.
I had a bad dream where a car hit King
That’s not a dream, thats a nightmare
agad! You have an evil subconscious!
” Tell me Do you know what happens when a car hits a corgi??? The same as …. other.. ..small things!”
Arc #42, the Ultimate Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything.
Bleh, that’s what I hate about webcomics.
I don’t read this for like 2 years, come back, catch up, and then keep mashing the Next button wondering why it won’t go any further… I JUST GOT BACK IN TO IT! I need more! ;_;
Happy Birthday/Anniversary, Housepets!
Here’s to another 3 years of fun, excitement, laughter, and reading-too-much-into-it!
Here’s an odd question.. what happened to Pete? is he in heaven prison? does it even have a prison? if so how will he play THE GAME (which you just lost). Will he hire a less-than-honorable mercenary to spring him?http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/106591-.html?m=2. or is that not enough?… wow that’s more than one question
he is most likely getting a stern talking to
So..if this comic it PG, will it be ok to show this to my younger sister?
I don’t see why not. Rick is very good about keeping things funny yet interesting, and always PG or G.
He goes back…does his time..buys a house in the neighborhood..adopts Sasha..takes care of her and has a friend
Wait. So the “BOOM”s are King like, trying to change back into a human or if not I’d like to know what it is cuz im confused.
Thunder or fireworks, your choice.
