I’m pretty sure that mice normally can’t digest cheese properly, due to being herbivores. Not 100% sure though.

Back in the days before fridges, people left their cheese out on the table. Mice will nibble at anything, so it’s no surprize the cheese was often the first thing people noticed had been nibbled.
It’s true. Cords, shoelaces, anything will be nibbled on, edible or not.
Actually, cheese is sticky so it was easy to use in mousetraps. However, mice don’t like getting sticky things gummed up in their whiskers, especially since they need good, functional whiskers to find their way around in the dark.
That depends on the species. American mice are exclusive herbivores, while European mice are omnivores. However, since there’s about 5 species per country (read: “per geographic region” for the US), there are exceptions

Advanced physics is largely comprised of complete gibberish. You can pretty much just make something up and say it applies on a universal or sub-universal scale and it’s instantly credible because it’s advanced physics.
comprise means made of. you don’t need “of” when you use comprise. or you could use “consists of” and avoid the whole thing.

Take a look at the “usage note” in the article you cited. Even if it says it’s criticized, I consider something that’s been common since the 19th century to be valid.

There are many species of mice that don’t have fur on their tails. They’re usually drawn with furry tails in cartoons because it’s easier
I remember the mice we fed to the snakes in high school had lovely furry tails, as opposed to the raw scaly tails the rats had.

Sadly, the alt-text is true, or at least in my experience. Most doctoral and honours theses are written on subjects such that you have to convince everybody that your point is valid, which often requires taking a defensive approach where you say, “This is my point, here are my arguments, here are some criticisms, and this is why they don’t apply”.

Good to see Spo and Fido again…Though I have to notice…that the piece of the book page is like the mouse (albeit dwarve mouse) eqivalent of a newspaper size piece of paper (10.5 mm x 16 mm)…though I guess it would tire poor Spo out to much to read the entirety of the page…I guess that is why you don’t see many obese mouse scholars or “bookworms”…cts (chuckles to self)…I guess it would be a pain in the butt for Spo or any other mouse to type up a paper or even chat on the internet…I guess for mice it would be like a huge “DDR” pad…

I love arguing with English teachers, because it’s impossible to win or lose (and they tell you that), but they tend to be so sure of their own opinions that they have no idea how to respond if you point out how their argument might not be true.
I challenge myself to write all of my English papers with as much of a subtext of “I completely disagree with your opinions and the validity of this assignment” as I can get away with.
