King is smaller that some of the cubs. Some cubs are roughly the size of peanut, some are a little smaller and King is around the size of the smallest cub. Lucretia should look bigger, particuliary in the first panels.
Wonder if Rick is a fan of old George Carlin. He had a segment in one of his early albums (I forget which, off the top of my head) talking about daytime TV of the 70s (when the concert was performed), and how women called soap operas “my story”. I think it was mentioned in his routine on the seven words you can never use on television (nor in the comments for the comic, so I won’t link it, but search Youtube for “carlin seven words”), but I’m not sure.
okay, I believe T-Squared just means the steamroller is punishing him for making bad jokes by rolling over him(or her, you can’t be sure on the internet).
Actually, that was Tad Stones, discussing one of the principles of the Aladdin TV show: “When in doubt, hurt the bird”. People loved seeing Iago get smushed. There’s usually a character like that (Iago in Aladdin, Batty Koda in Ferngully). Sometimes it’s even the lead (Darkwing Duck, Daffy Duck, Donald Duck, wait a second… there’s a trend here…).
You know, that’s because almost nobody likes Iago. By that logic, we should be hurting Lester instead.
You know, I could live with that. I could definitely live with that.
(Of course, Bino works too, but Lester is more recent. Actually, I don’t think we’ve seen Bino in a while. Argh, I’ve neatly derailed my train of thought and driven it off into the eastern sunset.)
No, people do like Iago. Iago started out a bad guy, but he’s trying to be a good guy, and he doesn’t always succeed… he’s flawed… but he’s a sympathetic character for all that.
Mozenrath wasn’t nearly as sympathetic, at least until the end of his arc, but they never got a laugh out of seeing him get hurt.
I wouldn’t mind. There’s an old legend in Rome about their founders being raised by a she wolf. This could be a sign that king will do great things. Then again, Ceaser was famous for being stabbed in the back.
first of all, that wasnt cease (dont remeber they guys *plural* names were). and second, does anyone see how that is a hilarious contradition to the saying “its good to be king”?
it’s Caesar btw (I’d know, I had to study it in Latin)
also, as OotS suggests. up until you die you’ll live a good life (duh), so why bother? If you’re an evil overlord, you’ll become stuff of legends, if you were a good ruler, you’ll become still stuff of legends, so it’s a win-win situation.
i said real life king. no king in the human world thinks the way Tarquin does. besides, he’s officially a general, and if he were openly the ruler, he’d be an Emperor.
It’s not a contradiction to being king. Just a mild unpleasantly of who King could become.
Kind of like, it’s good to be king, until they bring out the torches and pitchforks. For Ceaser it was a knife (despite he was a great leader), for the founders of Rome it was their brother’s hand, and for King it very well may be Lucreta’s love of soap.
Reminds me of my mum, hahahahahahaha!
Good times… well, kinda. Thanks to that I used to miss House M.D. X’( I missed many, many, many episodes…
What’s a Soap Opera? All I can imagine is a bar of soap in a huge opera stage singing “Figaro” or something.
Yep, definitely everything makes sense and reminds me even more of those days without House M.D, that doc is AWESOME!
And thanks for telling me, DaLoneWolf25.
Hehehehehe, soap quartet in “Dirty Situation”. I still can’t stop thinking of cleaning materials singing all kinds of stuff.
Soap Opera is a low budget TV series. The name came about because the first soap operas were created in the era when a TV show usually had a single primary commercial sponsor, and these kinds of TV shows tended to be sponsored by companies selling household products.
after i realize it wasnt Fox, then i thought it was one of the pups, then i thought it was the male wolf (forgot name). I didnt realize it was Lucretia until i read the comments

Oh, I used to comment A LOT, along with a few others. It’s one of the reasons there are comics with 900 comments on them: Me, Hypergenesis, and some others. Mostly I remember the Squidfletcher Incident– the moral of which is to not go too far off topic.
Anyway, school happened. Running Start Student here, and for Fall Quarter I took German and Peer Mentoring (tutoring someone, basically) at my high school and Precalculus AND English 101 at the college. What with bussing, homework, and exhaustion, I didn’t have time to get on here much.
this is downright adorable!, love the “indirect” lucretia brand wolf hug on king! XD
and yes, poor cable guys who dares to interrupt a lady’s joy on soapoperas.

Heh it’s so nice reading the comments and seeing how we all love Lucretia, kinda shows how similar we are no matter where we live right? :3
BTW at first I thought she was one of the cubs who got older or somethin, cuz…. well just look at her! Personally I can’t compare her to her old self aaand to tell the truth that’s not a prob she looks perfect, much more feminine.
BTW yeah poor King is gettin the “Hug of missed soapoperas”, that’s no easy thing to endure as you can see. XD
Something I just thought about: Is King appearing today because it’s Dr. King’s day? Or are we going to see how all the other characters manage the power outage?
Well-intentioned criticism.
In the third panel, why is King’s lower part of his mouth cut out? It’s not kinda nice to look at it, if the characters are nicely positioned in every other panel.
The lower part of his mouth is out of (in a movie term) the shot . And I don’t see any possible interference to King’s lower part of the mouth because of Lucretia’s arm. Her arm is the closest to him on his left cheek.
Even if his lower mouth is not seen properly, because of her arm, I don’t see the reason why that part of the body would be out of the panel in the first place. It’s a head. It’s not always nice to look at an image where one part of a man’s (in this case, of an animal) head is chopped of.
If today’s comic was drawn completely by ignoring the basics of planning and positioning a character(s) in a room for a shot, for a good noticeable reason, then I wouldn’t take notice. The reason why I’m mentioning this, is because the other three panels were so nicely done, and looking at the third panel made me think that it was out of place in today’s comic.
I don’t have a problem with the idea behind the third panel, it’s excellent. A little bit more down would be excellent, so that it can match the other panels.
I hope Rick that you don’t take this personal, this criticism is completely well intended. An artist to an artist.
It’s one of those rules of cartooning: you don’t move the camera from one panel to the next; it throws readers off.
Of course you could ask why the camera is so high when King is so short, but I’m guessing Rick is trying to ensure only the humans get their faces covered by their speech bubbles
Very nice, but I’m surprised nobody else has commented on Lucretia’s new, ’shapely’ figure. If we compare it to her appearance in “The Visitor” arc, it’s less boxy now and more curvy. It’s an intriguing change, since it anthropomorphicizes her even more in contrast to Miles and Daryl. And if I recall correctly, she was the one who emphasized that their life sucked as ferals.
Basically this is an English Major’s observation to the work of another English Major. It’s a well-done strip, and has plenty of new connotations behind it to keep it interesting.
She raises an interesting issue what with the power outage and everything. Talk about a generational gap. I can imagine the pack being told about this tradition of going camping in the summer, and the adults feeling the same way.
I laughed at the comment about her missing her stories. If you think wild animals becoming dependent on human food was bad, just wait – now they’re becoming dependent on our soap operas as well!
Awesome shading. And it’s nice to see King and one of the wolves again. I love how you gave her some muscle in the last panel to emphasize things, too. X3 And please tell me I’m not the only one who finds panels 1 and 3 adorable (1 because of Lucretia’s expression).
Even with the sickening *CRUNCH* I’d still be happy there. . . until Miles came in and asserted his authority as Alpha. Then I’d start singing Lynard Skynard.
frankly, Dark Shadows was an alright soap opera. mainly because the vampire was neither completely devoid of emotion, nor was he sparkly. the stepping stone between Dracula and Twilight.
Could be. There were four strips with Grape and Peanut in this arc, there might be more strips with King. But I suspect not, this strip has a feeling of completion. I’m anticipating another arc of one-offs.
I adore the shading. Awesome.
Alt text: Hey, who wouldn’t treat king like one of their puppies? (except for the last panel)
Why must someone post a copy of the Alt text every update?
for those using a device on which they cannot mouse over, such as an iPhone.
However for some reason when its in the comments it feels like the alt text has no purpose.
agreed. It’s practical, but it just feels weird seeing it in the comments while you can read it. the iPhone should have a way to read alt text.
But… but I was looking for the alt text to make a joke about it!
…you guys made me forget what I was going to say
what is alt text anyway?
hold your mouse cursor over the comic and read the words that come up.
also the alt text dont work for the wii i use :p
but she might do that to her puppies to, every once in a while
yes, but they have wolf cub bodies and not frail Welsh corgi bodies.
if they were frail like King, she would restrain herself.
It would still be very very funny.
agreed
So do I.
A mother’s love is truly beautiful… and sometimes scary
a mother’s love is truly beautiful indeed…
It’s a female’s love for her soap that is scary
OH! Thats the mother? NOW this makes sence!
Yeah, the tags can help if you’re ever confused. I didn’t really get it at first, but then I saw the Lucretia tag.
she looks very manly in the last pannel
Wolf snuggles. Awesome.
So this, yuz!
I was going to call this a “bear huge” but I think we have to call it a “wolf huge”
Super awesome!
*gasp* It’s Lucretia!
Her appearance is so rare, that’s why it’s so shocking…also, she looks like Fox in the last panel, by the way…
So she’s a “Fox”y lady, huh?
Yeah, bad puns are my specialty.
someone call T-squared’s steamroller.
…and Hendrix fanaticism is mine.
“I wanna take you home,
I won’t do you no wrong, no,
You got to be all mine, all mine:
Foxey Lady!”
(massive guitar playing)
Jeez it’s been about two years since she made an appearence!
Man I can’t even believe that, but it’s true..
Crunchies? Anyone?
Oh that Lucretia! Well, King is around their size, so it makes sense.
Wait what? How’s he her size? I thought King was the size of the cubs. O_o”
King is smaller that some of the cubs. Some cubs are roughly the size of peanut, some are a little smaller and King is around the size of the smallest cub. Lucretia should look bigger, particuliary in the first panels.
Yeah somethin like that. Thx for the extra info.
How dare they stand between me and my soaps? JUST WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK I AM!
a zucchini?
I don’t see the problem in thinking a power outage is a disaster. IT IS A DISASTER!!!
ROFLMAO ROFLMAO agrreed
I love the last panel she misses her stories
Soapoperas: The wonders of modern life. Can’t live with them, but if ANYTHING stops you from seeing them that thing is a goner for sure. XD
Wonder if Rick is a fan of old George Carlin. Needless to say, being Carlin (if one that’s not as much a jerk as later in his career) and given the subject, it’s very much NSFW.
Well, at least he doesn’t have to worry about his back becoming stiff.
*rimshot*
*beaned with a snow-covered steamroller*
some one needs to clean the snow off of that steamroller. then maybe it would move fast enough to prevent the puns.
Well, you never know when a good chiropractic back-cracking will make you feel better.
I think King is experiencing one of the times in which a back-cracking is unwelcome.
Im going to sound like a complete nuby, but what do you mean by “steamroller”?
this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steamroller
or, more likely, this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_roller
NO I know WHAT a steamroller is!!!! Im asking what do you mean when its used in THI context!!!
okay, I believe T-Squared just means the steamroller is punishing him for making bad jokes by rolling over him(or her, you can’t be sure on the internet).
Got it
Muscles at last panel.
Poor King.
“When in doubt, hurt the corgi”.
Stop taking Pete’s lines!
Actually, that was Tad Stones, discussing one of the principles of the Aladdin TV show: “When in doubt, hurt the bird”. People loved seeing Iago get smushed. I actually do like Iago.
Hmm.
Most people I know didn’t like him, which is why I said almost nobody.
/shrug
Soap Operas do scary things to people.
Well, who wouldn’t want to hug a helpless little cutie like King.
Yet another reason was it’s good NOT to be King.
I wouldn’t mind. There’s an old legend in Rome about their founders being raised by a she wolf. This could be a sign that king will do great things. Then again, Ceaser was famous for being stabbed in the back.
first of all, that wasnt cease (dont remeber they guys *plural* names were). and second, does anyone see how that is a hilarious contradition to the saying “its good to be king”?
so is every time someone makes an attempt at taking the life of a real life king.
it’s Caesar btw (I’d know, I had to study it in Latin)
also, as OotS suggests. up until you die you’ll live a good life (duh), so why bother? If you’re an evil overlord, you’ll become stuff of legends, if you were a good ruler, you’ll become still stuff of legends, so it’s a win-win situation.

Romulus and Remus.
They eventually became enemies and Romulus killed Remus.
and wasnt the god Juno??
i´m sure i just played that in Assasins Creed Brotherhood
I thought he was stabbed in the pretty much everything.
Yes.
It’s a good thing that neither Romulus nor Remus were Julius Caesar…
oh king… u lucky lil’ doggy X3!
Ahh, intergenerational integration. I’m sure King would rather not have this at the moment…
Yay King! Yay Lucretia! Yay arms that get much more muscular when they squeeze corgi’s!
*crunch* @_@
That’s adorable X3
(well, until the spine-breaking. Poor King)
Oh, I thought that WAS fox, dang. Well there goes all my fun.
didnt the puppies refference give you a hint, or the fact that King NEVER lived with Fox?
remember this though
wolf: cant let you do that fox
Lucretia is looking cute and fluffy in this one. ^_^ She seems kind of ditzy at times, but I think that is more just ignorance of the modern world.
I noticed how cute and fluffy she looked in the first panel. she kind of reminded me of Sasha there.
Ha! That’s what I thought! Really threw me off ’til I saw the tags.
well i didn’t think it actually WAS Sasha. The colors are completely different.
no, but she looked so similar, just in the excited expression. I got confused.
Novela.
Get that pail out of here! I don’t want to see your smut!
(Cookies for the reference? I may not be able to get back to you soon. Of course, I may be here all day. Depends. :^P )
Nobody?
Here’s a hint:
What pumpkin? You are fairly sure that there has never been, and will never be, a pumpkin right there.
NONE of you read MSPaintAdventures?
I am dissapoint.

Dreams can tell stories too, y’know…
your avatar is supreme!
ai think ai should’v gottin it >_>
how the hell do you get an avitar?!?!?
click get avatar next to your name, sign up, upload a picture you have, crop it, and you’re done.
THANKS!
glad to be of service.
it may take a little while to register the change.
the email is case-sensitive, so if it’s not showing up that might be why.
I think this one is pretty awesome.
d’aww
Cute. Awesome. Epic.
All in one.
Ah, wolves… *dreamy sigh*
Crunch? .__.
Ouch! I am concerned about King.
King heals fast. He’d better, living in that household.
Looks like She’s she’s starting to think more like a human now!
ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
WE ACCEPT HER, ONE OF US!
gooble-gobble
Oh, TV ruined Lucretia. This proves it…soap operas are dangerous to Kings everywhere!
soap operas are dangerous to MEN everywhere.
Queens tend to like them though if Elizabeth II is anything to go by.
Careful, guys, stay away from Lucretia! You wouldn’t like it when she’s angry!
or would you?
True…
lesson learned: do not give wolves tv, it reverses the wild effect.
addicted wolves are more dangerous than wild wolves
only during the commercials and power outages. any other time, you just need to stand where they would be unable to see the TV.
And all of a sudden she’s buff.
Rule of funny…plus she is a wolf and anthro at that. Killing a deer with her bare paws and eating it is probably her favorite hobby.
no, her favorite hobby is after that when she arranges the corpse into a beautiful centerpiece.
http://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/10/12/nature-pushing-the-boundaries-of-good-taste-since-forever/
And in this one she’s all of a sudden shorter
She’s hunched over to talk to King on his level because he’s shorter than her.
yah that got me at first
They’re sitting down.
I think King makes everyone look shorter.
Wouldn’t King, being short, make everybody else look taller?
She’s a wolf, and she’s flexing
Hot.
Uhmmm…
Due to me seeing them together so often, I thought she was Fox without the scarf and tag.
That’s what I thought too.
This.
actually, I thought that at first glance, too. then I thought “wait, King doesn’t live with fox, he lives with the wolves. oh, that’s Lucretia.”
after i realize it wasnt Fox, then i thought it was one of the pups, then i thought it was the male wolf (forgot name). I didnt realize it was Lucretia until i read the comments
his name is Miles.
Silly peeps, you just hafta look at the eyes, that’s how I recognized her so quickly…
…as you can see, there’s a greater and darker fill in the eyes….
But this was from first sight so you know.
most of us realized it was too feminine to be fox as soon as we looked a little longer.
your avitars are perfect for this conversation
Uh-huh…
Aren’t you supposed to always look at the eyes first? If there’s one thing I remember from art class its that people always look at the eyes first
For a second I did too.
From the shade of fur color, I figured it had to be a wolf; either a pup or Lucretia. Then I saw the eyelashes, plus “my pups” in the speech bubble.
King’s knowledge from being a human. I wonder if this would make others eventually find out he used to be a human somehow. O.o
Also, first panel is cute. i wonder if someone will use it as their avatars
look a few comments up, someone already has.
Heheh, I am sure the other pets/animals are only thinking “whoa! King is really smart!” XD
And yeah, the first panel is really cute!
Well, Peanut knew the fireplace could work without electricity…
…and he’s pretty smart…
…is it too far a leap of logic to think that he also knows how to turn it on?
Isn’t anybody excited that KING IS BACK!?!?!
I guess.
the joy of seeing Lucretia is over shadowing the joy of seeing King because we haven’t seen her in years.
Exactly! :3
Maybe…
No, too busy admiring Lucretia. XD
Lucretia is showing some muscle there, isn’t she?
Whoah, didn’t even remember she had blue eyes it’s been so long since we saw her last time. Once again, shading looks really good, love it. <3
It’s a very nice glow effect.
ah
i missed story arcs
She’s kinda cute.Reminds me of King and Sasha when they were snuggling outside in the snow.
agreed.
Yep.
Are any of the characters NOT cute?
Probably the humans, but thats opinion
I liked the Limerick guy, but only the idea is cute. he probably smelled of *insert any number of horrid smells here*
Agreed. *nods*
“Limerick guy”?
http://www.housepetscomic.com/tag/crazy-old-man-who-only-speaks-in-limericks/
thanks
WOAH! Blast from the past!
Heheh, I liked him.
Lester is not cute.
who is Lester?
Lester is Joey’s obnoxious friend. There was an entire arc about how much he complains.
dont recall, could you put in a link?
First comic here:
http://www.housepetscomic.com/2010/09/20/what-have-you-done-you-monsters/
It’s a short arc.
was that the only time we saw him?
http://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/06/19/fast-learner/
Yeah.
______
SASHA!!
wat
Sasha, she is my favorite.
I don’t remember you, so you probably came after I started to drift away from 100 comments per page.
I’ve read the whole comic but I never commented before.
I was in that same boat at the beginning of this week, but I had only read the entire archives last week.
Started reading this late 09.
I was also new and after reading the entire comic archives and i started commenting after the guestweek, btw i didn’t expect to have so many replys on my comment
:D
I blame myself for not remembering Sasha for a good couple of minutes and replying with “wat”. That might of made this have so many replies. lol
@netherwolf: We all have our great moments in commenting so almost everyone gets his(her) turn, so it’s no surprise… plus mentioning King and Sasha in the same comment is bound to have a torrent of comments anyhow. XD
Lucretia in the first panel reminds us of Sasha.
sorry, didn’t notice that this was a reply to a comment, but apparently, neither did you or you wouldn’t be confused as to why Val mentioned Sasha.
not the perfect avatar, but I think i’ll stay away from the whole rapid-switch-multiple-accounts for now. I’m still getting rehabilitated.
You don’t want to overdo it.
Yeah that was a cute moment just like this… except breaking the back part. X)
It’s weird to see all the new faces here! Hello, I’m back, not sure for how long.
I kind of miss the ones who don’t comment anymore, though.
Also, squidfletchers. For those of you who may remember. ;P
SORRY! SORRY!
Hoy again man. Good to see ya again.
Sorry can’t remember what squidfletchers are. XP
Nice to see you too!
The Squidfletcher Incident…
Me and Hypergenesis got into a conversation–probably about a hundred comments–completely off topic about taking squids and using them to make arrows.
Then the Wrath of Mod came down upon us.
Oh… now THAT had to hurt! XP
Good you’re back on your paws again.
It’s good see ya again VK Batman! We haven’t seen you since last year!
Hey there!
I got busy, but I’ve been trying to keep current, though I haven’t been reading the comments much.
Glad to be back, even if I don’t know for how long.
*pokes and offers a fresh Oreo cookie* Welcome back Val, very nice to see ya again. ^__^
YAY COOKIES!
Like I said, it’s nice to see old faces–even the hidden ones.
;P
I saw what you did there
Im new to commenting, what happened to you?
Oh, I used to comment A LOT, along with a few others. It’s one of the reasons there are comics with 900 comments on them: Me, Hypergenesis, and some others. Mostly I remember the Squidfletcher Incident– the moral of which is to not go too far off topic.
Anyway, school happened. Running Start Student here, and for Fall Quarter I took German and Peer Mentoring (tutoring someone, basically) at my high school and Precalculus AND English 101 at the college. What with bussing, homework, and exhaustion, I didn’t have time to get on here much.
*pant* I talk too much!
thats whats going to happen to me next year
and that’s what I’m just about to leave behind me, just with collage not highschool. XD
…
I already miss it. X(
Wull Welcome Back! :3
this is downright adorable!, love the “indirect” lucretia brand wolf hug on king! XD
and yes, poor cable guys who dares to interrupt a lady’s joy on soapoperas.
it wasnt the cable guy, its old man winter. besides, its the electric co.’s problem to fix
HEY YOU GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYYYYYYS!!!
Sorry, my little brother is 4. I can’t help it.
ROFLMAO ROFLMAO
Lucretia!?!?! I havent seen her in ages. I’m more happy to see her than King! I think the glow effects blends in very well! But poor King owiee!
Wow this many comments in less than two hours?
we have nothing better to do than wait and comment.
have to agree with that
Yea really.
True dat.
King always gets the comments. He’s earned ‘em.
He has had a rotten time!
Indeed! But King was able to pull through the hardest, most weirdest moments over the last two years since his transformation caused by Pete and he’s handling it pretty well. A normal person would go crazy.
King We still love ya don’t ever change back to a human your awesome as a Corgi!
agreed on the “go crazy” part. I probably would have jumped into a frozen river a year ago
Normal person? You see any normal people here?
Normal is a paraphrase.
@Argent Stonecutter: I saw what you did there
He may get the comments, but he never gets the girl. I mean, he tries, and then the girl just brushes him off! “I don’t date humans, that would be weird.” Well you know what I say to that? I say wh–*BUG-EYES*
Yay for past-blast!
Tarot is taken! Besides, he knows she is an avatar anyway.
He didn’t know either at the time.
I think I know what king likes least about being a corgi: the shortness. It’s not enough that he had to be turned into a dog, he had to become a short dog
Were she a human of similar size, though, he’d have a nice head rest…
(And that’s as far as I’m going, on that line of thought. I kinda like not being banned.
)
XD
And on that day when the power went out, the cable company was suddenly attacked by a pack of crazy wolves!
Kingy! Glad to see life working out there!
Something I just thought about: Is King appearing today because it’s Dr. King’s day? Or are we going to see how all the other characters manage the power outage?
BTW, Happy Martin Luther King day, everyone
0_0
I hadn’t even thought of that!
also, Happy MLK Jr. Day!
Hey, it’s him again.
What ever happened to that other colouring style that was tested? The brief test at the amusement (?) park?
I think we need to wait for another sunset for it to reappear, just like we had to rait for it to be dark again for shading to reappear
King, adorable as always. I want to snuggle him like that. Lucky Lucretia.
I want’s a King plushy!
I think you’d be better snuggling him like this…
Well-intentioned criticism.
In the third panel, why is King’s lower part of his mouth cut out? It’s not kinda nice to look at it, if the characters are nicely positioned in every other panel.
Keep up the good work, Rick! Excellent comic.
It’s not; you can see the lines, but the colour does almost meld into Lucretia’s fur.
Are we looking at the same panel? O_O
I’m talking about this:
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=21jyoea&s=7
He’s looking down more in that panel.
He’s looking down. Is that a issue?
wall of text, did not read. but i see what you mean, its just out of frame
Great to see Lucretia again! ^_^
One might think King would be in danger if Miles were to see him all cuddled up with Lucretia…
…were it not for the fact that he’s in danger right now because Lucretia is crushing him….
It would be something like:
“Miles: -Honey I’m hom…
WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON HERE ???
King: – M-Miles this is not what you”re thinking.
15 MINUTES LATER
Cop: – You have the right to remain silent and…
Miles: -I will kill him.
Cop:- You’ve already did that.”
Never get between a lady and her stories. EVER.
Also, King & Lucretia by fireplace light. Awwww.
Woah, the shading effects in this comic are incredible! Awesome job Mr. Rick!
Also, yay for King and Lucretia returning!!!
Miss my stories? Reminds me an awful lot of an awful ex (Seriously she had “her stories”, what kind of 15 year old girl has stories?).
Soaps. Days of our Lives, stuff like that.
LOL
Very good one, Lucretia looks much more feminine in this comic than in
her first appearances. And the last pannel is very funny.
There’s always Mary Worth.
She is just an adorable mother! :3
yay kings back
Yay, again!
So, Wednesday, whose house will we be seeing?
Sasha’s! I can’t explain it, but after this, I absolutely must se Sasha
why not the ferrets? they WOULD be making tunnels
Yay!
Well, technically, this is the ferret’s house. They’re just not in the scene at the moment.
i ment the big house they inherited
WHICH big house they inherited? All these are pretty big compared to my old apartment!
;P
the one where joey got hurt at trying to win that prize that Dazie won
Joey got laughed at, Bino got hurt.
i keep getting those too mixed up. probably because we have not seen Bino in a while
probably doesn’t help that they look so similar.
ya that too, arent they and Fido all actual brothers?
yes they are.
At least I remembered something
Awesome shading. And it’s nice to see King and one of the wolves again. I love how you gave her some muscle in the last panel to emphasize things, too. X3 And please tell me I’m not the only one who finds panels 1 and 3 adorable (1 because of Lucretia’s expression).
You’re not
Now that I think of it, this is the second time in less than 30 days that Rick puts a female character saying “so help me…”
Anything happening in your life that has made you suddenly taken such a liking to this phrase? A woman scorned perhaps?
Even with the sickening *CRUNCH* I’d still be happy there. . . until Miles came in and asserted his authority as Alpha. Then I’d start singing Lynard Skynard.
Lynyrd Skynyrd. Just the thought of playing Free Bird on Guitar Hero makes my arms ache…
King would be so lucky as to be “starin’ straight down a .44″, if Miles were to get it in his head King was making a move on his mate.
Fortunately, Miles is apparently smarter than your average sitcom male, who has the approximate IQ of tapioca pudding.
6. in 15 hours, there have been at least 6 avatars made from this comic.
Cutest. Miles. EVER.
That’s Lucretia. Check the tags.
Oh, well still cute as anything x3
I could still see Miles acting like that.. :3
wtf? Miles is a man, he doesn’t watch soap operas >:(
(Man, wolf, whatever)
well, Miles is new to the whole “human” thing, so he might have gotten addicted
I did think it would be hilarious for Miles to be into the soaps.
Besides, gender stereotyping much? Men can like “chick” shows too!
>.>
<.<
you confessing to something?
frankly, Dark Shadows was an alright soap opera. mainly because the vampire was neither completely devoid of emotion, nor was he sparkly. the stepping stone between Dracula and Twilight.
King’s trapped inside a house with wolves… Oh boy…
Whatever stories Lucertia watches, for King’s sake he better hope she doesn’t get hooked to the opening theme of said show.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og7-6YubuS4&feature=related
what media do you use, Rick?
Wolve just don’t understand personal space, do they?
*Wolves
Please tell me there will be a “sequel strip” to this! This scene is so great! I actually love it when characters develop in this fashion. ^_^
Could be. There were four strips with Grape and Peanut in this arc, there might be more strips with King. But I suspect not, this strip has a feeling of completion. I’m anticipating another arc of one-offs.
If King survives for the next strip. If I was trapped in a house of wolves, I’d pray either food wont’ end or a full moon rises…
Fox has stories? That’s kind of cool.
Fail. Miles.
Fail again. Lucretia.
AAAAHHH! FAILURE OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS!!!!!!
voice of god: NOAH, YOU MUST BUILD AN ARC OF WIN TO PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST THE FLOOD OF FAIL!!
ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO
@SomeRandomGeekNamedBrent
Noah: Right! Am I on Candid Camera?
noah: But Lord, what if I don’t m—*drown*
god: DROWN IN YOUR FAILURE, THEN!! I WILL MAKE THE ARC OF WIN, AND HE SHALL BE NAMED CHUCK NORRIS!!
That statement, in and of it self, is an arc of win, except for the fact that Chuck Noris caused the Big Bang.
That was the original chuck Norris. He became God and creates new Chuck Norrises as serves his purposes.
Ah! right, I forgot about that. Fail on my part
Seems like it would be a good idea to get a DVR box for Lucretia so she can record her stories … and so King can keep his spine.
You’re a clear logical thinker like Peanut, I see!
wolves will be wolves… with soap operas
Yeah, the shading is actually quite good. you deserve a golden star.
We need more appearances by the wolves.
Like the wolf cubs bring home a pet. Lets see, what would a wild animal bring home as a pet….
a human? mabye an elephant from the zoo
Don’t they have King for that?
I was going to say that, but I didn’t
the eyelashes man, they make all the differences
)
Good to see Lucretia XD (and King too
Awwwwww…..That be’ one cute wolfie!
I wunt a hug after King!!!
*Looks at last panel*
NNNEEEEVVVEEERRRRmind……
*Ships King and Lucretia*
Make sure Miles is outta earshot before you say something like that.
Please, in the name of all that is corn tell me you’re joking.
Oh, you must not have heard of me, before… ;3
Yes, I kid… XD I do like to ship-tease the unusual pairings, though. ;3
what do you mean? (sorry if i sound like an idiot, but im new to this stuff)
to “ship” means to put two characters into a relationship together in one’s head. (four answers, I’m on a roll)
well mabye its becaues your the only one on when i comment, or the only one that feels like educating us simpletins
yes, because I like to feel smarter than everyone. I know I’m not, but sometimes it’s fun to pretend.
agreed, thats why i dont take many advanced classes
I take a lot of advanced classes, but I still feel smart in most of them (AP US History made me feel dumb for the first time in my life.)
It’s great to see that Lucretia is back =D
A day in the life of King: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2011/01/wolves.html
relevance?
King is living with wolves and the cubs probably act very similarly to these kids.
this is the third time this comic that I’ve answered a question of yours.
ok, NOW that makes sence, and thanks for the answers!
glad to help.
Lucretia looks barely older than a puppy herself in this strip.
a lot of women like looking young.
When I read this, this other web comic scene popped into my head.
http://www.missmab.com/Comics/Vol_1101.php
It also took a couple of min. *and reading the comments* to figure out who that was.
ROFL ROFL
meh in the first panel you can kinda tell it was lucretia
Note to self ……NEVER get between housewives and their soap operas
you JUST figured that out?!?!?!
Hmm, let me paraphrase that …… never get between a feral lupine housewife that can break spines like toothpicks unconsciously and their soap operas.
ok, i had the same revelation
The last panel would be SO much funnier if it wasn’t the female wolf…..
I really hope for them that the chimney is cleared! Or they will die because of CO-intox…
I was going to ask “Why does he have eyelashes?” and then it hit me. XD
Tihs is one of my favorites. {-)
Lucretia –
1st Panel: looks like the pups
2nd + 3rd Panels: her normal self
4th: looks like the dad.
…not sure what else to say…Appearance Issues? >.>
