Dogs and other canines CAN see the blue and green spectrums of colour, but not RED.
my boston terrier can see the red laser on my gun because he chases it like a cat. so if he can’t see red what does he see the laser as?
a brownish-grey, probably.
in any case, it’s a brightly colored spot and obviously worth chasing.

Not sure I get that bit. I’ve only seen “asplode” in a context like “your head asplode”. That doesn’t seem near violent enough to be an asplosion.

its Catharsis. it means “purging of emotional tensions.” For example, if you have a bad day and feel really mad at the world, playing some GTA or other violent video game and just killing a bunch of people can be cathartic. Or punching a wall when you are ticked off.
This comic is Catharsis in that Tiger and Marvin have previously had trouble getting along with Zach. Their actions in this strip help to overcome the tension between them. Get it?

Um… two things: “Rayos” is a way softer word than “hell”, and “aguafiestas” is one word.

From the alt-text I’d say the joke is that it’s a big buildup for nothing… and the style is nice.

For the joke I’m not sure what it’s aboot, but my guesses are:
a) They act differently with Zach than normally
b) (KzT already said this) They’re just gettin rid of their hot chocolate and veggies
OR
c) It’s just a big buildup for somethin we’ll never get answered so we’ll all talk about it in the comment section

Oh gosh, I thought that was a poor take on Grape for a second.
These comments show that purely-heartwarming scenes are not allowed in webcomics, because people will just complain that they “do not get it” and that there’s no big punchline.

I’m an acquaintance of Dawn Chapel’s author and Zach is my favorite character so I felt the need to comment.
the only problem is the “asplode” sound effect. I don’t think that’s allowed into an heartwarming scene.
I may be wrong, though.
It’s just a tiny cute joke, a new addition to the “brofist” sort of celebration deal at getting Zach to successfully calm down, to end a cute comic.
I don’t think that it’s the mere fact that the comic is purely heartwarming, but rather the fact that Tiger’s actually acting reasonably civil towards Zach, when normally he’s… Well… Tiger. He’s so paranoid he usually doesn’t do anything without an ulterior motive, and thus, it’s confusing that he’d do this. Not bad-confusing. Just confusing.
It turns out characters have more than one dimension sometimes, especially if it’s in a non-canon situation concerning just being heartwarming! :O
Well, yes, they’ve got two dimensions. Height and width.
and sometimes depth…both physically and metaphorically.

They are more anthropomorphized, and thus have the abilities and height of human children.
Plus they call their owners “Mom” or “Dad”.
They can’t see colors, nor do they stand on their hind feet, nor do they talk, nor do they have the ability to make hot chocolate.
