Meh, I’ve seen worse. The fact that I’ve browsed fanfiction enough -to- have seen worse is an indicator of my obsession.
It could always be ‘James Patterson’ chapters which take about 10 seconds to write and half that to read. Half THAT and you have the number of pages. Then again, this IS Joey we’re dealing with here.

That’s what everyone said when Rick switched to the new style in which he drew Housepets.
But it’s still the same person, only a modified style that takes getting used to. As for guest art, 90% usually sucks in comparison. That’s to say, only a few people can come close to the fans’ expectations either with close to the original art or a very good “fan art” that seems to work for them. Let’s face it, these outsiders can’t match the original (given that the original is of average to moderate quality)

Why not? I’m just not sure if Rick’s giving the alt texts to the comics himself, or if the artists of the guest comics provide them themselves…
The original artists would be the more logical choice I’d say, but Rick can come up with good ones as well so that may be right as well.

i really have to say that while i understood this *after i read the comments* the comic itself is too jumbled and overloaded with text to smoothly convey the gag. maybe rather than making the words the central focus of the panel and instead centering the chapter number it would have been more readily conveyed. it’s not BAD, it’s just really amatuerish… keep in mind the human eye is lazy. if you want to make a visual gag with WORDS, you have only a few seconds of the eye’s attention searching for the ‘funny’ words. in this comic’s case, the chapter number is steamrolled by the wall of confusing tangently coherant text below it. i found myself reading that, looking for the joke, feeling frustrated that it cut off…and not even seeing the chapter number.
all in all a really good shot at a comic, but next time zander – think about the lazy human eye and remember to CENTER your gag in the middle of the panel if it’s one that relies on noticing a tiny detail like that!
I think the point of the first 3 panels is to show that Joey is writing a wall of text, kinda like you just did, not to actually be read
If we’ve reached an era where two paragraphs is a “wall of text” it’s no wonder atrocious slop like “Twilight” is so popular…
