Obviously the reason he worded it that way is because the actor dog has a striking resemblance to a certain someone’s fursona.

From when he was a puppy, Clemens always wanted to act. From playing the rutabaga in his obedience school play to romping around in the background during an outdoor interview of KPET news, if it has to do with acting, he’s for it.
But he doesn’t have the money for proper acting training. To save up for classes, he’s working at a pet-friendly restaurant as a waiter-short order cook.
While working out at the gym, he met Miles. Though Miles is into weightlifting and Clemens is into aerobic exercise, they hit it off well. Through Miles and Lucretia, he met the Milton ferrets.
He supplies Rock with pilfered orange sodas. (Stolen food and drink is tastiest. It’s a ferret thing.) Rock gave him this break in return.

uh.. Argent’s mentioned it before. If the comic keeps going for too long, the ferrets are going to be the first to start dieing of old age. Best way to avoid that would be to jump onto something else before the time comes (though it may be something else within the world of Housepets!)
Dude, do you know how old Calvin and Hobbes are? Calvin should be in his thirties, and yet he is only six. And don’t get me started on Garfield and cats lifespans. Comic characters live as long as the author writes them.
