Well, it wasn’t as intended, but he’s actually succeeded at something. I suppose we could count keeping Sasha warm and building her a house as successes – but those plans didn’t really have an outright failure as an option.
He could have made it awkward by telling Sasha he likes her, or when he built the house, which I could only assume he used nails and a hammer, he could have hit his thumb(s).
But that’s not quite outright failure, is it?
I wouldn’t think so. Besides, EVERYBODY likes Sasha! It’s one of the rules!

And just because we could see it coming does not mean it hurt any less. Mean Pete’s going to be ticked about the broken pet carrier. But no gravy stains on King or the rug so obvivously he did eat it and solve that problem.
And good grief, Fox actually did so up randomly for no apparent reason?!
To be fair, King has expressed nervousness and reservations about going. Showing up to make sure that your reclusive friend does, indeed, attend a social event is entirely reasonable – especially when you’ve promised that he’ll have a good time there.
I doubt that Pete will care about the pet carrier though; his powers seem to extend to transforming inanimate matter. For the most part, he seems to find Joel/Kings efforts at defiance amusing – not an especially pleasant personality trait.

I don’t think King needs to explain any circumstances. The broken pet carrier is right there at the bottom of the stairs, and I don’t think he fell that far from it…
Doesn’t anyone in Babylon Gardens lock their doors anymore? What if Fox had been a burgler or a petnapping member of an animal wrongs group. Pete’s antique phone could have been stolen. Although given one of the residents is cop (and a bike one no else) and another a K9 cop you could see why they’d likely feel safe.
Actually, I think it would be poetic justice if King were kidnapped by PETA. Ah… the irony.

The last week implied Pete’s isn’t limitless. But as stated, ticking him off is likely not a good idea unless the idea of spending then rest of your life as lap dog sounds appealing.

Why bother? Pete could apparently replace anything that went missing with a snap of his fingers.
After all, a door lock won’t keep out anyone who’s really determined to get in; it simply makes the process of getting in more conspicuous, thus increasing the likelihood of their being a witness and of someone notifying the authorities.
In the Housepets universe there really isn’t much chance of a stranger going into a house passing unnoticed. There’s been a mention of Fido stopping burglaries, but I’d suspect that every bird, mouse, and pet knows that reporting a break-in or intrusion by a stranger is probably worth a months supply of treats or toys.
That might be the reason for the use of the “stealth outfit” during our one on-screen burglary; it would probably ensure that the description wouldn’t be of much use later on – but it makes it just as obvious as breaking a lock or window that this IS a burglary. It’s a possible drawback on employing wolves as security too; small animals may be understandably reluctant to approach wolves to tell them that something is going on.

True. He has endured a lot:
From a bad childhood to being changed into a dog.
Being tormented by Pete, getting locked up in a cage.
And now tumbling down the stairs.
Truly a “Tragic Hero”.
Down the stairs make him a “tragic hero?” Not really I mean dive on a grenade and you’re a tragic hero, fall down some stairs and you’re just funny.
Which is nice, King hasn’t been all that funny a character before this arc. He just kind of tried to go about his day and have funny stuff happen to him but now he’s starting to do some of it himself.
… Ya may have some point there, not a tragic hero, but his life still sucks too much and he should have at least SOME joy in… it I’d say at least. :3
It seems people don’t understand what a tragic hero is. A tragic hero is one for whom tragedy strikes because of a “Tragic flaw.” King seems to unlucky, as opposed to having any.
King’s tragic flaw is acting without thinking things through.
You know, that little voice that tells you that skateboarding towards a plate-glass window on a polished marble floor is a bad idea… BEFORE you go through the glass?
King doesn’t have one of them.
Now that is definitely a tragic (as well as comedic) flaw, and fits so very well. One +5 insight bonus for you!

I probably overstated the “tragic hero” but the point I was trying to make was how much this character always has to endure the unexpected.
Nothing seems to go right with King. Even when the situation seems to go into his favor one way or another he gets knocked down. Like when he gets invited to the Good Ol’ Dogs Club; it seems he was going make the transition of trusting others but it backfires on him because of Bino. Fox invites him to a BBQ then gets shot down by Pete. I just feel bad for the little guy. Even before he got changed into a dog things didn’t seem to go right for him; He gets punched in the face, the van won’t start when trying to escape, when he decides to turn himself in he gets knocked down. It’s tragic man!!! Jeez! He hardly catches a break. I hope sometime in the future something will go in his favor because it’s just sad.
We can argue whether or not King is a tragic hero but I do want to point out that his life can be tragic.
Sorry about my long rant but I had to clear things up.

Well, both Bino and Joel/King tend to make their own bad luck – but Bino usually does it out of malice and jealousy. Presuming that karma plays a role, I’d say that King wins. If not, Bino wins, since King has yet to put himself in the hospital – unless this does it.

Nah. Dogs are wicked durable, especially the small ones. I’ve seen my schnauzer jump off of tables to the ground. Besides, we’re not taking into account King’s “superior” human intellect. If he were to brace himself in the cage, he would have only sustained a few bumps on the head. The cage wasn’t all that big.
