My cat is outside all the time, so I wouldn’t know. He was out for 3 days once. Well, atleast that means he’s easy to maintain…

When I still had him, my cat went missing for a whole day, and we had to go look for him out in the rain.
It was a very frightening experience, because he was an indoor cat – he’d never been outside for more than 15 minutes at a time (any longer and he’d start to chew grass, which he would then promptly heave all over the carpet). Turns out that he was waiting for us, all soaking wet, at our door when we came back unsuccessful.

@ 2nd Panel: For those who are confused with the 2nd law of Thermodynamics, in a general sense, the second law says that temperature differences between systems in contact with each other tend to even out and that work can be obtained from these non-equilibrium differences, but that loss of heat occurs, in the form of entropy, when work is done. Isn’t that the ultimate fate of the Universe? No movement can occur because everything will be at a uniform temperature?
Not only that, but Grape will finally be able to get some uninterrupted sleep!
Sleep is a series of apparently random electrical impulses in the brain. Electrical impulses won’t be possible with everything at a uniform temperature, will they? So if she’s getting an uninterrupted something, it won’t be sleep.

Great indeed! But even that “free energy” at the end will, someday, run out. So unless we can get a Multivac into hyperspace, there will be an end. An end which won’t be an end, for only time (that screwy dimension which had to stop being a dimension for us to exist) will stretch on forever

Actually, someone has calculated that by clocking the computing rate down exponentially as the energy gradient flattens out a sufficiently efficient computing engine could execute an unlimited number of steps in an arbitrarily long time. They have speculated that it is statistically likely that we are currently executing in a simulation of the young universe operating on an old-universe computing engine.

Yeah, that announcer guy was trying WAY too hard. Add the stock sound effects they overlay on the actual videos, and it’s alot more platable on MUTE.

Feels like there’s some sort of deeper meaning I’m missing here.
Incidentally, Frank, I didn’t respond to a moderated comment on the last strip, so why did my comments go wacky? Or did you respond to one?
I made a coment including “f*st”; then noticed a something that wasn’t quite correct, so I replied to it correcting it . I worded my reply carefully enough so that it would seem like it was an original comment, so people could reply to that while we waited for the comment to be aproved.
What I didn’t remember was that doing so puts your reply all the way at the bottom, as if it weren’t a reply at all. You just had the luck of being the first (and only) one to reply to it.
