The funny thing is that they were already together all this time, we just didn’ realise it since we were waiting for something concrete to happen.

I’ve never had a problem with Vista. Let me educate you on how to know when a Windows release is stable.
Step 1) Microsoft releases Windows X.
Step 2) You keep using the old version.
Step 3) Microsoft releases Windows Y.
Step 4) You get Windows X, because once they work out all the bugs in one they release the next one.
All my friends running 7 and crying to me all the time still tell me I should upgrade. I’m happy with my stable Vista.
Okay I admit that Vista and 7 are more advanced systems than XP, but WHY the hell ruin them with that stupid fancy look, even the XP had Classic and XP look why couldn’t they keep that? >:(
The look I have right now is basically like XP, only purple and WMP is tucked nicely in the corner
Of course if I wanted to I could make it even more old-school, there’s a few options that make it look older than XP.

Yeah that maybe true, but most of the apps don work, they are too expensive and they have no virusprotection what so ever so just one virus may kill the whole system.

Antivirus software is a completely stupid idea. Let’s leave the door unlocked and put deadly boobytraps that sometimes kill the kids in the kitchen. It’s like something from Kevin and Kell. “Herd Thinners” would sell it to the herbivores to protect them from predators.
You CAN buy antivirus for Mac, but most people are smart enough to realize what a daft idea it is.
True-true, but still there are viruses for macs (and YES much less than for any PC, still) if they get on the comp then there’s no way to find them… But I know I realy I don have the right to talk since I didn’ use a mac before so no offense.
There are pretty much no viruses for Macs. There have been a couple that required you to download and install a program, and one that then offered that program to your friends over Yahoo Messenger, but really that’s kind of an honor system virus. “Please click here to infect your computer! It’ll be real cool, I promise!”

Still Macs cost way more, they can’t be upgraded(or so I know) and most applications don run on it yet… they are strong and efficient, but still.
The main thing you get with a Mac is the OS doesn’t suck as horridly as Windows, and the Applications don’t suck as horridly as Linux. If you have enough suck in your life already, and you can afford to tone down the suck on your computer, it’s worth it.
Who wouldn’t in so intense moments, I’m amazed that he can recover so fast. :3

Yes, I did, but there’s more to it than that.
It always freaked me out that the mouse in my avatar didn’t have a shadow, like Dracula in the mirror. Especially since Rick was doing all those night scenes with beautiful shading. What could I do to make my avatar worthy of being used with those images? Add shading.
That was on April 18. Nobody noticed.
On April 27 it was my birthday, so I added the text “It’s my b-day. Be nice.” and the mouse lookind at the text with a “Huh? What’s this?” expression. I also switched the torch from his left paw to his right. I wasn’t expecting a response, really, but furry321 noticed ( http://www.housepetscomic.com/2010/04/26/i-thought-you-knew/#comment-24147 )
On April 28 he started walking away from the text, but still looked at it, unsettled.
On April 29 he shrugged it off and continued on his way
On April 30 (today) he stopped to pass the torch back to his left hand (but he doesn’t look quite right in his standing position, somehow)
On Monday I’m going back to my regular avatar. I think I’ve played with the idea enough to make a transition, and drawing a new avie every day is killing me

It takes a while to set up “the moment”, and you can’t put a joke in the middle so you can’t cut it off at the halfway point and leave the rest for the next day.

at this point, any speculations for the future would be pointless. Yes, Tarot talked about Grape breaking Max’s heart in order to fully accept Peanut, but it’s really difficult such a step will be made (IF it will be made) before the next year.

Whichever solution Rick will opt for, I pray he’ll do something to help Sasha out of her abusive relationship with Bino AND the even more abusive ownership she’s suffering. She deserves better than that!
The part aboot her owner is right, but what’s wrong with Bino?
I was even having dreams aboot helping Sasha… but those were mostly aboot me as a guest character… I almost ruined the mood there. XP
So far, Bino has never showed any real consideration for Sasha, rather for when it was necessary for someone to brush his ego. Sasha may be a little frisky when it comes to Fido, but it seems the guy has that effects on all the ‘lady dogs’.
Sasha is very innocent and sweet, although she may look not like the smartest cookie sometimes. King got it and slept with her out in the cold.
Yeah that’s true Bino does get a bit selfish and/or psycho at times but it’s not only his fault, as you said the other pets tend to forget aboot him and let’s say the trouth no one could handle that so well.
Yeah Sasha is also close to my hart cuz of that, but I don’ think King had any real feelings for her or like that he just felt sorry for her and wanted to help and he does think like a human so not sure he’d find her attractive. Although Pete did make him forget his own name so who knows… XD

I have a feeling this from here out is going to be a little more awkward, isn’t this sort of cheating? Hopefully the romance between the two main characters will not shut off all of the side characters. I also kind of feel some things are still left unfinished (overall not just this strip) like… the story of king if it’s supposed to end or continue. I also kind of saw some original side characters completely disappear for over a month or so! Hope everyone comes back! :3
if Tarot’s prophecy counts something, the ‘romance’ thing is far from being resolved, but for now let’s be happy that many things have been made clear between those two. Well, I was able to read everything and I saw “I swoon over lions and tigers..” and I began to wonder, “Does she swoon every time they visit Shardul at the zoo?” and “What if the zoo had lions a new lion exhibit? It’d be, to the cats, what Miles’ family is to the dogs, Animal Kingdom Movie Stars.”

…no, for real. This is pretty good. To be honest, I never really had this feeling of wanting to see characters in a comic strip psychologically before. It’s pretty refreshing to have this kind of love interesty kinda stuff that either makes you wonder what they’ll say, what others say, or how other romances are going, at least from my viewpoint.
…and yeah, I admit to liking Peanut’s earlier style over this current one, but not only have I warmed up to this style…but you really made him cool with those headphones. Kind of like the eyelashes for Grape, that little detail seems to matter a lot more than you’d expect cosmetically.
i can imagin whats gona hapend after this, peanut is gona act different to grape and he is gona embarece her in some way or another, and then grape is gona tell peanut that they are just gona stay best friends and nothing els… then again, i dont think i have ever seen rick making something clasic in hes comic, you never know whas gona hapend in the next stripe, and thank god for that, clasic is boring.
Grape is… is acting so sophisticated about their friendship — that is astonishing to see in a comic strip. And both Peanut & Grape are being very open to each other about their feelings towards others. They are actually acting like they have a close friendship. This is so unexpectedly mature (compared to many other stories) that I find it to be funny. (And touching. And kissing.)
I’ve become a fan of “Housepets!” It took me a while to get through the introduction of the rules of the setting, and the relations between the humans and the housepets. And it takes a while to learn all the distinct characters. This has become really, really enjoyable to view.
Grape’s role is that of the older and wiser character, so she kind of has to be sophisticated. (However, according to the cast page, she is technically younger)
Girls are normaly more mature so that may add something.

I’m thinking that Rick has known about this like forever, and has been sitting on this info, thinking, how are the fans going to respond.

Hm… I am torn between my desire for Peanut and Grape to actually end up together and my sense that this solution is far more clever and unique.
Bravo, Rick, for taking this thread in a really unexpected direction, and giving your characters credit enough to manage their feelings in a pretty mature way. I mean this strip follows on the heels of a temper tantrum, but -this- part is mature XD.
I mean, from most stories, I would expect this to lead into some sort of “best friend + mushy = romance” idea, or else some sort of difficulties with the current significant others that would eventually get Peanut and Grape together, but really that feels too soap opera for this comic, and I get the sense it isn’t where this is going. At any rate I feel like it’d be executed with more grace than that.
So yeah, eagerly awaiting what’s going to happen next with this.
I think Rick’s main goal (well, one of them, anyway
) is to make sure this comic does not turn into a soap opera.
Because that would just ruin it.

I’m still rootin or them to be together though.
In hindsight, of the endings I thought of, this was my favorite, but I almost expected pain. Grape really is nice to Peanut, all things considered. Even when mad at him, if her character quote is any indication. Hooking up or not, they seem like they’ll be close regardless. Arguments and nap intrusions notwithstanding. Apologie if this is considered spam, everyone.
